Rethinking Mutual Coupling in Movable Antenna MIMO Systems: Modeling and Optimization

Movable antennas (MAs) have attracted growing interest for their ability to improve channel conditions via adaptive antenna movement. Nevertheless, such movement inevitably introduces mutual coupling (MC), whose impact has been largely overlooked in existing MA literature. In this paper, we show that MC is not merely an unavoidable electromagnetic effect, but also a new source of capacity gains in MA-enabled multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. To leverage MC effects, we develop an optimization framework for both narrowband and wideband systems based on a rigorous circuit-theoretic model. For narrowband systems, capacity maximization is formulated as a non-convex optimization problem, which is solved via a block coordinate ascent (BCA) framework. Because optimizing MA positions is challenging due to analytically intractable MC matrices, we develop a trust region method (TRM)-based algorithm that utilizes Sylvester equations to compute the derivatives of the inverse square roots of the MC matrices. We further consider wideband systems and formulate a sum-rate maximization problem. To find a unified set of MA positions that balances varying subcarrier conditions, the BCA framework and the TRM-based MA position optimization algorithm are extended to wideband systems. Simulation results demonstrate that exploiting MC effects in MA-MIMO systems yields significant performance gains in both narrowband and wideband systems under various channel conditions. These gains highlight the benefits of MC-induced superdirectivity and designable MC matrices.

Tunable thermal conductivity through dual spin-phonon coupling in van der Waals ferromagnetic insulator Cr2Ge2Te6

The active manipulation of phonon transport remains a central challenge in phononics and spin caloritronics due to the charge-neutral nature of heat carriers. Spin-phonon coupling (SPC) offers a promising route for the dynamic control of heat carriers, yet its progress has been limited due to the lack of a unified framework and suitable material platforms. Here, we report on the magnetic field-tunable phonon transport behavior in the ferromagnetic insulator Cr2Ge2Te6. We observed two distinct anomalous regimes at both the high and low fields that were governed by isotropic magnon-phonon hybridization and an anisotropic magnon softening process, respectively. By integrating detailed transport behavior with Brillouin light scattering and ferromagnetic resonance, we uncovered the microscopic origins of these anomalous regimes and demonstrated that both the field magnitude and orientation could act as versatile tuning knobs to manipulate the thermal conductivity. Our findings provide experimental evidence of the SPC effect on phonon transport, demonstrating the dual impact of SPC within a unified system. This work will not only broaden the fundamental understanding of quasiparticle interactions but also establish a viable framework for dynamic phonon engineering. Furthermore, the characteristics of this system highlight the potential for achieving field-tunable phonon transport in similar platforms such as two-dimensional (2D) magnetic materials.

Intention-Aware Semantic Agent Communications for AI Glasses

Smart glasses are emerging as a promising interface between humans and artificial intelligence (AI) agents, enabling first-person perception, contextual awareness, and real-time assistance. However, continuous offloading of visual data from wearable devices to cloud-based vision-language models (VLMs) is fundamentally constrained by limited wireless bandwidth and energy resources. This paper proposes an intention-aware semantic agent communication framework for AI glasses, where data transmission is guided by user intention rather than raw pixel fidelity. In the proposed architecture, AI glasses act as an edge semantic agent while a server-side VLM executes high-level cognition and reasoning. The user intention can be inferred by the server-side VLM through the current transmitted content and the historical prompts. Driven by specific user intentions, the glasses adaptively preserve textual content, document layout, or object semantics before transmission. We evaluate three representative scenarios with different lightweight preprocessing tools on the AI glasses. Simulation results demonstrate that intention-aware preprocessing significantly achieves more than 50% bandwidth reduction depending on the current task while maintaining task performance. Moreover, semantic transmission exhibits graceful degradation under low SNRs. The findings demonstrate that aligning communication resources with user intention is essential for robust and efficient wearable AI agent systems.

OCC: Physical-Layer Assisted Congestion Control for Real-Time Communications

Real-time communications (RTC) is a core technology for emerging applications in 6G, such as cloud gaming, teleoperation, and extended reality (XR), which require consistently low latency and high bitrates. Existing RTC solutions fundamentally struggle to maintain low latency while supporting high bitrates due to their reliance on trial-and-error-based mechanisms. These mechanisms fail to probe the available bandwidth (ABW) promptly and accurately, leading to a trade-off between latency reliability and bandwidth utilization. The tension becomes extremely more critical as the cellular bandwidth and application's demand fluctuate with a larger range in cellular networks nowadays. To address this trade-off, we propose OCC, a novel approach that utilizes physical-layer information to explicitly obtain the ABW in real time, enabling rapid adaptation to dynamic wireless network conditions. However, the unique characteristics of RTC, including traffic bursts, application (APP) limits, and encoder lag, make the physical-layer informed control non-trivial. OCC effectively addresses these issues through three innovative strategies: frame-aware bandwidth measurement, APP-limit-aware bandwidth estimation, and encoder-friendly rate control. Extensive over-the-air experiments on an open-source cellular testbed demonstrate that OCC significantly enhances the performance of mobile RTC, reducing tail network latency by $13\%$ to $68\%$ and improving video frame bitrate by $1.2\times$ to $3.5\times$.

Spectrally-large scale geometry in cotangent bundles

In this paper, we prove that the ${\rm Ham}$-orbit space from a fiber of a large family of cotangent bundles, as a metric space with respect to the Floer-theoretic spectral metric, contains a quasi-isometric embedding of an infinite-dimensional normed vector space. The same conclusion holds for the group of compactly supported Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms of some cotangent bundles. To prove this, we generalize a result, relating boundary depth and spectral norm for closed symplectic manifolds in Kislev-Shelukhin's recent work, to Liouville domains. Then we modify Usher's constructions (which were used to obtain Hofer-large scale geometric properties) to achieve our desired conclusions.

End-to-end Listen, Look, Speak and Act

Human interaction is inherently multimodal and full-duplex: we listen while watching, speak while acting, and fluidly adapt to turn-taking and interruptions. Realizing these capabilities is essential for building models simulating humans. We present ELLSA (End-to-end Listen, Look, Speak and Act), which, to our knowledge, is the first full-duplex, end-to-end model that simultaneously perceives and generates across vision, text, speech, and action within a single architecture, enabling interaction patterns previously out of reach, yielding more natural, human-like behaviors. At its core is a novel SA-MoE architecture (Self-Attention Mixture-of-Experts) that routes each modality to specialized experts and fuses them through a unified attention backbone. This provides a generalizable solution for joint multimodal perception and concurrent generation, leveraging strong pre-trained components while enabling efficient modality integration and mitigating modality interference. On speech-interaction and robot-manipulation benchmarks, ELLSA matches modality-specific baselines, while uniquely supporting advanced multimodal and full-duplex behaviors such as dialogue and action turn-taking, defective instruction rejection, speaking-while-acting, context-grounded visual question answering, and action barge-ins. We contend that ELLSA represents a step toward more natural and general interactive intelligence, contributing to the broader pursuit of artificial general intelligence. All data, code and model checkpoints will be released at https://github.com/bytedance/SALMONN/tree/ELLSA.

MegaStyle: Constructing Diverse and Scalable Style Dataset via Consistent Text-to-Image Style Mapping

In this paper, we introduce MegaStyle, a novel and scalable data curation pipeline that constructs an intra-style consistent, inter-style diverse and high-quality style dataset. We achieve this by leveraging the consistent text-to-image style mapping capability of current large generative models, which can generate images in the same style from a given style description. Building on this foundation, we curate a diverse and balanced prompt gallery with 170K style prompts and 400K content prompts, and generate a large-scale style dataset MegaStyle-1.4M via content-style prompt combinations. With MegaStyle-1.4M, we propose style-supervised contrastive learning to fine-tune a style encoder MegaStyle-Encoder for extracting expressive, style-specific representations, and we also train a FLUX-based style transfer model MegaStyle-FLUX. Extensive experiments demonstrate the importance of maintaining intra-style consistency, inter-style diversity and high-quality for style dataset, as well as the effectiveness of the proposed MegaStyle-1.4M. Moreover, when trained on MegaStyle-1.4M, MegaStyle-Encoder and MegaStyle-FLUX provide reliable style similarity measurement and generalizable style transfer, making a significant contribution to the style transfer community. The dimensions of Schur squares of HRS codes

The Schur square of linear codes over a finite field has emerged as a fundamental operation in both classical and quantum coding theory. In this paper, we investigate the Schur square problem of Hyperderivative Reed-Solomon (HRS) codes. By solving certain special determinants, we first give a lower bound and an upper bound for the dimensions of Schur squares of HRS codes, and then prove that when $p\geq t\geq 2s$ and $t\leq \frac{r+2s-1}{2}$, the dimension of the Schur square of the HRS code $HRS_{t}(\{α_{1},\dots,α_{r}\},s)$ (with length $rs$ and dimension $t$) reaches the upper bound $(2t-2s+1)s$. In particular, when $p \ge t=2s$ and $r\geq t+1$, the dimension of the Schur square equals $\frac{t(t+1)}{2}$ which is the dimension of the Schur squares of random codes with high probability. As an application in code-based cryptography, HRS codes with specific parameter settings might resist the attack of Schur square distinguisher.

Low-Altitude Wireless Networks: A Comprehensive Survey

The rapid development of the low-altitude economy has imposed unprecedented demands on wireless infrastructure to accommodate large-scale drone deployments and facilitate intelligent services in dynamic airspace environments. However, unlocking its full potential in practical applications presents significant challenges. Traditional aerial systems predominantly focus on air-ground communication services, often neglecting the integration of sensing, computation, control, and energy-delivering functions, which hinders the ability to meet diverse mission-critical demands. Besides, the absence of systematic low-altitude airspace planning and management exacerbates issues regarding dynamic interference in three-dimensional space, coverage instability, and scalability. To overcome these challenges, a comprehensive framework, termed low-altitude wireless network (LAWN), has emerged to seamlessly integrate communication, sensing, computation, control, and air traffic management into a unified design. This article provides a comprehensive overview of LAWN systems, introducing LAWN system fundamentals and the evolution of functional designs. Subsequently, we delve into performance evaluation metrics and review critical concerns surrounding privacy and security in the open-air network environment. Finally, we present the cutting-edge developments in airspace structuring and air traffic management, providing insights to facilitate the practical deployment of LAWNs.

Efficient Inference for Large Vision-Language Models: Bottlenecks, Techniques, and Prospects

Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) enable sophisticated reasoning over images and videos, yet their inference is hindered by a systemic efficiency barrier known as visual token dominance. This overhead is driven by a multi-regime interplay between high-resolution feature extraction, quadratic attention scaling, and memory bandwidth constraints. We present a systematic taxonomy of efficiency techniques structured around the inference lifecycle, consisting of encoding, prefilling, and decoding. Unlike prior reviews focused on isolated optimizations, we analyze the end-to-end pipeline to reveal how upstream decisions dictate downstream bottlenecks, covering compute-bound visual encoding, the intensive prefilling of massive contexts, and the ''visual memory wall'' in bandwidth-bound decoding. By decoupling the efficiency landscape into the axes of shaping information density, managing long-context attention, and overcoming memory limits, this work provides a structured analysis of how isolated optimizations compose to navigate the trade-off between visual fidelity and system efficiency. The survey concludes by outlining four future frontiers supported by pilot empirical insights, including hybrid compression based on functional unit sensitivity, modality-aware decoding with relaxed verification, progressive state management for streaming continuity, and stage-disaggregated serving through hardware-algorithm co-design. AgentSociety: Large-Scale Simulation of LLM-Driven Generative Agents Advances Understanding of Human Behaviors and Society

Understanding human behavior and society is a central focus in social sciences, with the rise of generative social science marking a significant paradigmatic shift. By leveraging bottom-up simulations, it replaces costly and logistically challenging traditional experiments with scalable, replicable, and systematic computational approaches for studying complex social dynamics. Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have further transformed this research paradigm, enabling the creation of human-like generative social agents and realistic simulacra of society. In this paper, we propose AgentSociety, a large-scale social simulator that integrates LLM-driven agents, a realistic societal environment, and a powerful large-scale simulation engine. Based on the proposed simulator, we generate social lives for over 10k agents, simulating their 5 million interactions both among agents and between agents and their environment. Furthermore, we explore the potential of AgentSociety as a testbed for computational social experiments, focusing on five key social issues: polarization, the spread of inflammatory messages, the effects of universal basic income policies, the impact of external shocks such as hurricanes, and urban sustainability. These five issues serve as valuable cases for assessing AgentSociety's support for typical research methods -- such as surveys, interviews, and interventions -- as well as for investigating the patterns, causes, and underlying mechanisms of social issues. The alignment between AgentSociety's outcomes and real-world experimental results not only demonstrates its ability to capture human behaviors and their underlying mechanisms, but also underscores its potential as an important platform for social scientists and policymakers.

Continuous Quantum Aperture: Beamforming with a Single-Vapor-Cell Rydberg Receiver

Beamforming is conventionally understood as a collective property of many discrete antenna elements in both communication and radar fields, which links angular selectivity to array size, element spacing, and band-specific hardware. Here we uncover a fundamentally different beamforming mechanism achieved by a Rydberg atomic receiver: a Rydberg-atom vapor cell dressed by a local-oscillator field constitutes a continuous quantum aperture. In this regime, spatially-varying quantum coherence across the aperture provides continuous amplitude-phase control, allowing a directional beam pattern to emerge from one sensing volume rather than from an engineered array. We establish the theory of continuous quantum aperture and show that tailoring the local-oscillator field can directly program the aperture response. This enables reconfigurable single-peak, multipeak, and multiband beamforming within a single vapor cell. Experiments on a Rydberg atomic receiver prototype verify that practical beam patterns agree with theoretical predictions across aperture sizes, frequency bands, and local-oscillator configurations. Leveraging this new beamforming mechanism, we further demonstrate interference mitigation, multiuser access, and multiband multiuser access with the single-vapor-cell platform. Our results identify the continuous quantum aperture as a new operating principle of Rydberg atomic receivers and establish single-vapor-cell beamforming as an integrated and reconfigurable platform for spatially selective electromagnetic reception.

See the Forest for the Trees: Loosely Speculative Decoding via Visual-Semantic Guidance for Efficient Inference of Video LLMs

Video Large Language Models (Video-LLMs) excel in video understanding but suffer from high inference latency during autoregressive generation. Speculative Decoding (SD) mitigates this by applying a draft-and-verify paradigm, yet existing methods are constrained by rigid exact-match rules, severely limiting the acceleration potential. To bridge this gap, we propose LVSpec, the first training-free loosely SD framework tailored for Video-LLMs. Grounded in the insight that generation is governed by sparse visual-relevant anchors (mandating strictness) amidst abundant visual-irrelevant fillers (permitting loose verification), LVSpec employs a lightweight visual-relevant token identification scheme to accurately pinpoint the former. To further maximize acceptance, we augment this with a position-shift tolerant mechanism that effectively salvages positionally mismatched but semantically equivalent tokens. Experiments demonstrate that LVSpec achieves high fidelity and speed: it preserves >99.8 of target performance while accelerating Qwen2.5-VL-32B by 2.70x and LLaVA-OneVision-72B by 2.94x. Notably, it boosts the mean accepted length and speedup ratio by 136% and 35% compared to SOTA training-free SD methods for Video-LLMs.

On the Step Length Confounding in LLM Reasoning Data Selection

Large reasoning models have recently demonstrated strong performance on complex tasks that require long chain-of-thought reasoning, through supervised fine-tuning on large-scale and high-quality datasets. To construct such datasets, existing pipelines generate long reasoning data from more capable Large Language Models (LLMs) and apply manually heuristic or naturalness-based selection methods to filter high-quality samples. Despite the proven effectiveness of naturalness-based data selection, which ranks data by the average log probability assigned by LLMs, our analysis shows that, when applied to LLM reasoning datasets, it systematically prefers samples with longer reasoning steps (i.e., more tokens per step) rather than higher-quality ones, a phenomenon we term step length confounding. Through quantitative analysis, we attribute this phenomenon to low-probability first tokens in reasoning steps; longer steps dilute their influence, thereby inflating the average log probabilities. To address this issue, we propose two variant methods: ASLEC-DROP, which drops first-token probabilities when computing average log probability, and ASLEC-CASL, which applies a causal debiasing regression to remove the first tokens' confounding effect. Experiments across four LLMs and five evaluation benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in mitigating the step length confounding problem.

TC-AE: Unlocking Token Capacity for Deep Compression Autoencoders

We propose TC-AE, a ViT-based architecture for deep compression autoencoders. Existing methods commonly increase the channel number of latent representations to maintain reconstruction quality under high compression ratios. However, this strategy often leads to latent representation collapse, which degrades generative performance. Instead of relying on increasingly complex architectures or multi-stage training schemes, TC-AE addresses this challenge from the perspective of the token space, the key bridge between pixels and image latents, through two complementary innovations: Firstly, we study token number scaling by adjusting the patch size in ViT under a fixed latent budget, and identify aggressive token-to-latent compression as the key factor that limits effective scaling. To address this issue, we decompose token-to-latent compression into two stages, reducing structural information loss and enabling effective token number scaling for generation. Secondly, to further mitigate latent representation collapse, we enhance the semantic structure of image tokens via joint self-supervised training, leading to more generative-friendly latents. With these designs, TC-AE achieves substantially improved reconstruction and generative performance under deep compression. We hope our research will advance ViT-based tokenizer for visual generation.

HybridKV: Hybrid KV Cache Compression for Efficient Multimodal Large Language Model Inference

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have advanced unified reasoning over text, images, and videos, but their inference is hindered by the rapid growth of key-value (KV) caches. Each visual input expands into thousands of tokens, causing caches to scale linearly with context length and remain resident in GPU memory throughout decoding, which leads to prohibitive memory overhead and latency even on high-end GPUs. A common solution is to compress caches under a fixed allocated budget at different granularities: token-level uniformly discards less important tokens, layer-level varies retention across layers, and head-level redistributes budgets across heads. Yet these approaches stop at allocation and overlook the heterogeneous behaviors of attention heads that require distinct compression strategies. We propose HybridKV, a hybrid KV cache compression framework that integrates complementary strategies in three stages: heads are first classified into static or dynamic types using text-centric attention; then a top-down budget allocation scheme hierarchically assigns KV budgets; finally, static heads are compressed by text-prior pruning and dynamic heads by chunk-wise retrieval. Experiments on 11 multimodal benchmarks with Qwen2.5-VL-7B show that HybridKV reduces KV cache memory by up to $7.9\times$ and achieves $1.52\times$ faster decoding, with almost no performance drop or even higher relative to the full-cache MLLM.

Training-Free Image Editing with Visual Context Integration and Concept Alignment

In image editing, it is essential to incorporate a context image to convey the user's precise requirements, such as subject appearance or image style. Existing training-based visual context-aware editing methods incur data collection effort and training cost. On the other hand, the training-free alternatives are typically established on diffusion inversion, which struggles with consistency and flexibility. In this work, we propose VicoEdit, a training-free and inversion-free method to inject the visual context into the pretrained text-prompted editing model. More specifically, VicoEdit directly transforms the source image into the target one based on the visual context, thereby eliminating the need for inversion that can lead to deviated trajectories. Moreover, we design a posterior sampling approach guided by concept alignment to enhance the editing consistency. Empirical results demonstrate that our training-free method achieves even better editing performance than the state-of-the-art training-based models.

Tencent Advertising Algorithm Challenge 2025: All-Modality Generative Recommendation

Generative recommender systems are rapidly emerging as a new paradigm for recommendation, where collaborative identifiers and/or multi-modal content are mapped into discrete token spaces and user behavior is modelled with autoregressive sequence models. Despite progress on multi-modal recommendation datasets, there is still a lack of public benchmarks that jointly offer large-scale, realistic and fully all-modality data designed specifically for generative recommendation (GR) in industrial advertising. To foster research in this direction, we organised the Tencent Advertising Algorithm Challenge 2025, a global competition built on top of two all-modality datasets for GR: TencentGR-1M and TencentGR-10M. Both datasets are constructed from real de-identified Tencent Ads logs and contain rich collaborative IDs and multi-modal representations extracted with state-of-the-art embedding models. The preliminary track (TencentGR-1M) provides 1 million user sequences with up to 100 interacted items each, where each interaction is labeled with exposure and click signals, while the final track (TencentGR-10M) scales this to 10 million users and explicitly distinguishes between click and conversion events at both the sequence and target level. This paper presents the task definition, data construction process, feature schema, baseline GR model, evaluation protocol, and key findings from top-ranked and award-winning solutions. Our datasets focus on multi-modal sequence generation in an advertising setting and introduce weighted evaluation for high-value conversion events. We release our datasets at https://huggingface.co/datasets/TAAC2025 and baseline implementations at https://github.com/TencentAdvertisingAlgorithmCompetition/baseline_2025 to enable future research on all-modality generative recommendation at an industrial scale. The official website is https://algo.qq.com/2025.
