Frustrated out-of-plane Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and the onset of atomic-scale 3$q$ magnetic textures in 2D Fe$_{3}$GeXTe (X = Te, Se, S) monolayers

We theoretically study the effect of in- and out-of-plane Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) on the magnetic ground states of two-dimensional (2D) Fe$_3$GeXTe (X=Te, Se, S) monolayers, where X=Se, S correspond to antisymmetric Janus structures with nonvanishing in-plane DMI. We perform atomistic spin simulations with the extended Heisenberg Hamiltonian parametrized by first principles calculations. While we find that the base DMI in all systems is too weak to stabilize noncollinear states, we show how the frustrated out-of-plane DMI tends to favor atomic-scale $3q$ magnetic textures at the edge of the Brillouin zone. Owing to the ability to tune the DMI in 2D magnets via applied strain or electric field, we study the evolution of the systems' ground state with increasing DMI amplitude. We find that nonplanar $3q$ states are favored under scaling factors as low as 3, while larger DMI tends to stabilize states reminiscent of nanoskyrmion lattices at the atomic-scale.

A Survey of Real-Time Support, Analysis, and Advancements in ROS 2

The Robot Operating System 2 (ROS~2) has emerged as a relevant middleware framework for robotic applications, offering modularity, distributed execution, and communication. In the last six years, ROS~2 has drawn increasing attention from the real-time systems community and industry. This survey presents a comprehensive overview of research efforts that analyze, enhance, and extend ROS~2 to support real-time execution. We first provide a detailed description of the internal scheduling mechanisms of ROS~2 and its layered architecture, including the interaction with DDS-based communication and other communication middleware. We then review key contributions from the literature, covering timing analysis for both single- and multi-threaded executors, metrics such as response time, reaction time, and data age, and different communication modes. The survey also discusses community-driven enhancements to the ROS~2 runtime, including new executor algorithm designs, real-time GPU management, and microcontroller support via micro-ROS. Furthermore, we summarize techniques for bounding DDS communication delays, message filters, and profiling tools that have been developed to support analysis and experimentation. To help systematize this growing body of work, we introduce taxonomies that classify the surveyed contributions based on different criteria. This survey aims to guide both researchers and practitioners in understanding and improving the real-time capabilities of ROS~2.

PRCCF: A Persona-guided Retrieval and Causal-aware Cognitive Filtering Framework for Emotional Support Conversation

Emotional Support Conversation (ESC) aims to alleviate individual emotional distress by generating empathetic responses. However, existing methods face challenges in effectively supporting deep contextual understanding. To address this issue, we propose PRCCF, a Persona-guided Retrieval and Causality-aware Cognitive Filtering framework. Specifically, the framework incorporates a persona-guided retrieval mechanism that jointly models semantic compatibility and persona alignment to enhance response generation. Furthermore, it employs a causality-aware cognitive filtering module to prioritize causally relevant external knowledge, thereby improving contextual cognitive understanding for emotional reasoning. Extensive experiments on the ESConv dataset demonstrate that PRCCF outperforms state-of-the-art baselines on both automatic metrics and human evaluations. Our code is publicly available at: https://github.com/YancyLyx/PRCCF.

Topographic Modulation of Martian Near-Surface Winds: Insights from Perseverance Measurements and CFD Modeling in Jezero Crater

Near-surface wind fields on Mars are profoundly modulated by complex topography, yet fine-scale wind field characteristics remain poorly resolved for key geomorphological units such as deltas, valleys, and impact craters, due to the spatial constraints of lander-based wind observations. To address this, we identified three dominant wind directions using measured near-surface wind data from the Perseverance rover at Jezero Crater and then integrated in-situ wind measurements with high-resolution numerical modeling. We established a high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) terrain model encompassing key local geomorphic units, including the delta, an impact crater, and nearby mesas, and performed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations under the above-mentioned three dominant wind directions. The results reveal a robust coupling mechanism between local topography and near-surface wind field structures. We demonstrate that wind speed is significantly enhanced over windward slopes but evidently attenuated within depressions and crater floors. Crucially, significant wind direction deflection angles were particularly evident in areas characterized by steeper slopes. For instance, wind flow exhibited a symmetrical deflection pattern along the opposing inner walls of the modeled impact crater, but stabilizing on the crater floor. Spatial comparisons indicate that wind deflection is most pronounced over steeper slopes, while sector-based distributions within the impact crater reveal a consistent symmetry between opposing wall and floor regions. These findings offer new and critical insights into the intimate connection between Martian surface aeolian erosion/deposition processes and local topographic evolution, which is vital for interpreting the sedimentary history of Jezero Crater.

Altermagnetism and Room-Temperature Metal-to-Insulator Transition in CsCr$_2$S$_2$O

Metal-to-insulator transitions (MITs), particularly near room temperature, have been extensively studied in nonmagnetic and conventional ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic systems, yet the co-emergence of MIT and altermagnetism (AM) remains unexplored. Here, a layered chromium-based compound CsCr$_2$S$_2$O that realizes this coexistence was synthesized. It crystalizes in CeCr$_2$Si$_2$C-type structure with Cr moments orders in a C-type antiferromagnetic configuration below $T_\mathrm{N}$ = 326 K, constituting a room-temperature d-wave altermagnet. In the altermagnetic state, a subsequent Verwey-type MIT appears at $T_\mathrm{MI}$ = 305 K, driven by a tetragonal-to-orthorhombic structural distortion and stripe charge ordering of Cr$^{+2}$/Cr$^{+3}$ ions, while maintaining its altermagnetic character. First-principles calculations show moment-dependent spin-split electronic structures with maximum splitting energies of ~0.6 eV and ~0.3 eV in the metallic and insulating states, respectively. Our work links the two prominent phenomena, MIT and AM, in a single material, establishing a new platform for potential spintronic applications.

Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid and charge-density wave in a quasi-one-dimensional material

In one-dimensional (1D) electron systems, the Fermi liquid state breaks down due either to electron interactions, which results in a Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid (TLL) state, or to Peierls instability, which leads to an insulating charge-density-wave (CDW) phase. In general, these two phenomena are mutually exclusive, and their coexistence remains elusive in real materials. Here, we report the discovery of a new quasi-1D material, Cs$_{1-δ}$Cr$_3$S$_3$, which unexpectedly exhibits coexistence of the antithetical CDW and TLL states. The CDW state is evidenced by the intra-unit-cell dimerization, and the opening of an optical band gap of $\sim$250 meV. Meanwhile, TLL behaviour is unambiguously demonstrated by the measurements of electrical transport and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, which reveal a power-law scaling with temperature, bias voltage and electron energy. Band structure calculations reveal isolated, linearly dispersive, 1D bands around the Fermi level. For the dimerized CDW phase, the 1D Fermi-surface sheets located at the boundary of the Brillouin zone are gapped from intra-unit-cell bond symmetry breaking. Experimentally, subtle Cs vacancies shift the Fermi level into the linearly dispersive valence band, enabling the observation of TLL behaviour without interrupting the CDW order. This work establishes Cs$_{1-δ}$Cr$_3$S$_3$ as a rare material platform in which the antagonistic Fermi-liquid instabilities coexist and intertwine, opening new avenues for studying emergent quantum phenomena in 1D systems.

LongCat-Next: Lexicalizing Modalities as Discrete Tokens

The prevailing Next-Token Prediction (NTP) paradigm has driven the success of large language models through discrete autoregressive modeling. However, contemporary multimodal systems remain language-centric, often treating non-linguistic modalities as external attachments, leading to fragmented architectures and suboptimal integration. To transcend this limitation, we introduce Discrete Native Autoregressive (DiNA), a unified framework that represents multimodal information within a shared discrete space, enabling a consistent and principled autoregressive modeling across modalities. A key innovation is the Discrete Native Any-resolution Visual Transformer (dNaViT), which performs tokenization and de-tokenization at arbitrary resolutions, transforming continuous visual signals into hierarchical discrete tokens. Building on this foundation, we develop LongCat-Next, a native multimodal model that processes text, vision, and audio under a single autoregressive objective with minimal modality-specific design. As an industrial-strength foundation model, it excels at seeing, painting, and talking within a single framework, achieving strong performance across a wide range of multimodal benchmarks. In particular, LongCat-Next addresses the long-standing performance ceiling of discrete vision modeling on understanding tasks and provides a unified approach to effectively reconcile the conflict between understanding and generation. As an attempt toward native multimodality, we open-source the LongCat-Next and its tokenizers, hoping to foster further research and development in the community. Cs$_3$V$_9$Te$_{13}$: A Correlated Electron System with Topological Flat Bands

Correlated electron systems with topological flat bands show great promise in exploring exotic quantum phenomena. However, such crystalline materials remain rare. Here we report the discovery of a novel material, Cs$_3$V$_9$Te$_{13}$, which unexpectedly exhibits magnetism and significant electron correlations. The crystal structure features two interpenetrating sets of vanadium triangles that can be linked with an ideal kagome lattice. The physical property measurements demonstrate a cascade of correlated electron phenomena, including quasi-two-dimensional bad metal, non-Fermi-liquid behavior, antiferromagnetic spin-density-wave transition at $T_\mathrm{N}$ = 47 K, possible short-range spin ordering at $\sim$350 K, a large Sommerfeld coefficient of 246 mJ mol-fu$^{-1}$ K$^{-2}$, and pressure-induced quantum criticality. These correlated electron behaviors are associated with the topological flat bands at the Fermi level, the latter of which are generated from the V2 sublattice in terms of a bipartite kagome model. Our findings establish Cs$_3$V$_9$Te$_{13}$ as a brand new correlated matter that synergistically combines flat-band physics and tunable properties.

Two-stage robust bilevel optimization model for facility location considering operational service level under disruption risk

The bilevel facility location problem (BO-FLP) is one of the core optimization problems behind the design of many decentralized industrial systems, e.g., supply chain systems where a supplier constructs some critical facilities and then uses them to serve retailers in a cost-effective fashion, while retailers directly handle customers aiming to minimize the total unmet demand in a rather independent fashion. When uncertainty is considered, scenario-based stochastic approaches are commonly used, but they often become impractical due to insufficient data or an exponential number of scenarios. To address this issue, this paper adopts robust optimization and proposes a novel two-stage robust bilevel facility location model. Several structural properties are derived to improve both theoretical understanding and solution efficiency. Based on this, an enhanced column-and-constraint generation algorithm is developed for robust bilevel optimization with decision-dependent uncertainty, significantly improving exact solution capability over the standard method. Numerical results show that, compared to the centralized two-stage RO model, our model pays more attention to demand fulfillment, typically resulting in higher service efficiency and better utilization of supply capacity. Under a small-scale disruption, this new model delivers better service performance. However, under a large-scale disruption, the centralized model performs more effectively.

PRISM of Opinions: A Persona-Reasoned Multimodal Framework for User-centric Conversational Stance Detection

The rapid proliferation of multimodal social media content has driven research in Multimodal Conversational Stance Detection (MCSD), which aims to interpret users' attitudes toward specific targets within complex discussions. However, existing studies remain limited by: **1) pseudo-multimodality**, where visual cues appear only in source posts while comments are treated as text-only, misaligning with real-world multimodal interactions; and **2) user homogeneity**, where diverse users are treated uniformly, neglecting personal traits that shape stance expression. To address these issues, we introduce **U-MStance**, the first user-centric MCSD dataset, containing over 40k annotated comments across six real-world targets. We further propose **PRISM**, a **P**ersona-**R**easoned mult**I**modal **S**tance **M**odel for MCSD. PRISM first derives longitudinal user personas from historical posts and comments to capture individual traits, then aligns textual and visual cues within conversational context via Chain-of-Thought to bridge semantic and pragmatic gaps across modalities. Finally, a mutual task reinforcement mechanism is employed to jointly optimize stance detection and stance-aware response generation for bidirectional knowledge transfer. Experiments on U-MStance demonstrate that PRISM yields significant gains over strong baselines, underscoring the effectiveness of user-centric and context-grounded multimodal reasoning for realistic stance understanding.

Speech-Omni-Lite: Portable Speech Interfaces for Vision-Language Models

While large-scale omni-models have demonstrated impressive capabilities across various modalities, their strong performance heavily relies on massive multimodal data and incurs substantial computational costs. This work introduces Speech-Omni-Lite, a cost-efficient framework for extending pre-trained Visual-Language (VL) backbones with speech understanding and generation capabilities, while fully preserving the backbones' vision-language performance. Specifically, the VL backbone is equipped with two lightweight, trainable plug-and-play modules, a speech projector and a speech token generator, while keeping the VL backbone fully frozen. To mitigate the scarcity of spoken QA corpora, a low-cost data construction strategy is proposed to generate Question-Text Answer-Text-Speech (QTATS) data from existing ASR speech-text pairs, facilitating effective speech generation training. Experimental results show that, even with only thousands of hours of speech training data, Speech-Omni-Lite achieves excellent spoken QA performance, which is comparable to omni-models trained on millions of hours of speech data. Furthermore, the learned speech modules exhibit strong transferability across VL backbones.

VSDiffusion: Taming Ill-Posed Shadow Generation via Visibility-Constrained Diffusion

Generating realistic cast shadows for inserted foreground objects is a crucial yet challenging problem in image composition, where maintaining geometric consistency of shadow and object in complex scenes remains difficult due to the ill-posed nature of shadow formation. To address this issue, we propose VSDiffusion, a visibility-constrained two-stage framework designed to narrow the solution space by incorporating visibility priors. In Stage I, we predict a coarse shadow mask to localize plausible shadow generated regions. And in Stage II, conditional diffusion is performed guided by lighting and depth cues estimated from the composite to generate accurate shadows. In VSDiffusion, we inject visibility priors through two complementary pathways. First, a visibility control branch with shadow-gated cross attention that provides multi-scale structural guidance. Then, a learned soft prior map that reweights training loss in error-prone regions to enhance geometric correction. Additionally, we also introduce high-frequency guided enhancement module to sharpen boundaries and improve texture interaction with the background. Experiments on widely used public DESOBAv2 dataset demonstrated that our proposed VSDiffusion can generate accurate shadow, and establishes new SOTA results across most evaluation metrics.

DynamicVGGT: Learning Dynamic Point Maps for 4D Scene Reconstruction in Autonomous Driving

Dynamic scene reconstruction in autonomous driving remains a fundamental challenge due to significant temporal variations, moving objects, and complex scene dynamics. Existing feed-forward 3D models have demonstrated strong performance in static reconstruction but still struggle to capture dynamic motion. To address these limitations, we propose DynamicVGGT, a unified feed-forward framework that extends VGGT from static 3D perception to dynamic 4D reconstruction. Our goal is to model point motion within feed-forward 3D models in a dynamic and temporally coherent manner. To this end, we jointly predict the current and future point maps within a shared reference coordinate system, allowing the model to implicitly learn dynamic point representations through temporal correspondence. To efficiently capture temporal dependencies, we introduce a Motion-aware Temporal Attention (MTA) module that learns motion continuity. Furthermore, we design a Dynamic 3D Gaussian Splatting Head that explicitly models point motion by predicting Gaussian velocities using learnable motion tokens under scene flow supervision. It refines dynamic geometry through continuous 3D Gaussian optimization. Extensive experiments on autonomous driving datasets demonstrate that DynamicVGGT significantly outperforms existing methods in reconstruction accuracy, achieving robust feed-forward 4D dynamic scene reconstruction under complex driving scenarios.

Searching for ALP Lepton Flavor Violation via ALP Decays at the LHC

In the ALP model, lepton flavor violation (LFV) can arise from off-diagonal ALP-lepton couplings ($g_{a\ell_i\ell_j}$), which are absent in the Standard Model. We focus on ALP production via gluon fusion ($pp \to a$) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which dominates the ALP mass range of 5-1000 GeV due to its high cross section and manageable backgrounds. We are interested in the decay of an axion into an electron and a muon, two oppositely charged leptons of different flavors. After background suppression, we obtain the sensitivity to ALP in this mass range, finding significantly improved limits for $5 < m_a < 1000$ GeV, where SM backgrounds are suppressed. Our research is complementary with relevant studies.

Valley physics in the two bands $\mathbf{k}\cdot\mathbf{p}$ model for SiGe heterostructures and spin qubits

We discuss the choice and implementation of inter-valley potentials in the so-called two bands $\mathbf{k}\cdot\mathbf{p}$ model for the opposite $X$, $Y$ or $Z$ valleys of silicon. We focus on the description of valley splittings in Si/SiGe heterostructures for spin qubits, with a particular attention to alloy disorder. We demonstrate that the two bands $\mathbf{k}\cdot\mathbf{p}$ model reproduces the valley splittings of atomistic tight-binding calculations in relevant heterostructures (SiGe spikes, wiggle wells...), yet at a much lower cost. We show that the model also captures the effects of valley-orbit mixing and yields the correct inter-valley dipole matrix elements that characterize manipulation, dephasing and relaxation in spin/valley qubits. We simulate a realistic Si/SiGe spin qubit device as an illustration, and discuss electron-phonon interactions in the two bands $\mathbf{k}\cdot\mathbf{p}$ model. Beyond spin qubits, this model enables efficient simulations of SiGe heterostructure devices where spin and valley physics are relevant.

xLLM Technical Report

We introduce xLLM, an intelligent and efficient Large Language Model (LLM) inference framework designed for high-performance, large-scale enterprise-grade serving, with deep optimizations for diverse AI accelerators. To address these challenges, xLLM builds a novel decoupled service-engine architecture. At the service layer, xLLM-Service features an intelligent scheduling module that efficiently processes multimodal requests and co-locates online and offline tasks through unified elastic scheduling to maximize cluster utilization. This module also relies on a workload-adaptive dynamic Prefill-Decode (PD) disaggregation policy and a novel Encode-Prefill-Decode (EPD) disaggregation policy designed for multimodal inputs. Furthermore, it incorporates a distributed architecture to provide global KV Cache management and robust fault-tolerant capabilities for high availability. At the engine layer, xLLM-Engine co-optimizes system and algorithm designs to fully saturate computing resources. This is achieved through comprehensive multi-layer execution pipeline optimizations, an adaptive graph mode and an xTensor memory management. xLLM-Engine also further integrates algorithmic enhancements such as optimized speculative decoding and dynamic EPLB, collectively serving to substantially boost throughput and inference efficiency. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that xLLM delivers significantly superior performance and resource efficiency. Under identical TPOT constraints, xLLM achieves throughput up to 1.7x that of MindIE and 2.2x that of vLLM-Ascend with Qwen-series models, while maintaining an average throughput of 1.7x that of MindIE with Deepseek-series models. xLLM framework is publicly available at https://github.com/jd-opensource/xllm and https://github.com/jd-opensource/xllm-service.

A Tale of Two Origins: In-Situ versus Accreted Nitrogen-Rich Field Stars in the MW

Spectroscopic surveys have identified significant numbers of metal-poor nitrogen-rich (N-rich) field stars. These stars are strong candidates for escapees from globular clusters (GCs), as their distinctive nitrogen enhancement mirrors the chemical patterns observed in some of the members of GCs. As part of the effort to characterize their chemodynamical properties, we derived abundances for up to 25 elements in a sample of 33 N-rich field giant stars (18 of them are studied for the first time) using high-resolution optical spectroscopy. We confirm their elevated abundances of N, Na, and Al, strongly supporting a GC origin. Given that Galactic GCs themselves formed within diverse progenitor galaxies, we sought to identify the ancestral systems of these N-rich field stars. By analyzing their dynamical parameters, we separated the sample into high-energy (HE) and low-energy (LE) groups. The HE group exhibits lower [α/Fe] and enhanced r-process abundances compared to the LE group. This indicates that the HE stars likely escaped from GCs accreted from massive dwarf galaxies (e.g., Gaia-Sausage-Enceladus), while the LE stars probably originated from in-situ GCs. We also find that the chemical pattern of these N-rich stars with [Fe/H] {\lessapprox} -1.0 are similar to the high-redshift ''N-emitters''. Furthermore, orbital integrations revealed a close encounter between one N-rich field star and the globular cluster NGC 6235. Our work demonstrates the potential of using chemodynamical analyses to trace Galactic assembly through chemical peculiar stars, while highlighting that larger samples and more precise data in the future are crucial to establish definitive origins.

GloPath: An Entity-Centric Foundation Model for Glomerular Lesion Assessment and Clinicopathological Insights

Glomerular pathology is central to the diagnosis and prognosis of renal diseases, yet the heterogeneity of glomerular morphology and fine-grained lesion patterns remain challenging for current AI approaches. We present GloPath, an entity-centric foundation model trained on over one million glomeruli extracted from 14,049 renal biopsy specimens using multi-scale and multi-view self-supervised learning. GloPath addresses two major challenges in nephropathology: glomerular lesion assessment and clinicopathological insights discovery. For lesion assessment, GloPath was benchmarked across three independent cohorts on 52 tasks, including lesion recognition, grading, few-shot classification, and cross-modality diagnosis-outperforming state-of-the-art methods in 42 tasks (80.8%). In the large-scale real-world study, it achieved an ROC-AUC of 91.51% for lesion recognition, demonstrating strong robustness in routine clinical settings. For clinicopathological insights, GloPath systematically revealed statistically significant associations between glomerular morphological parameters and clinical indicators across 224 morphology-clinical variable pairs, demonstrating its capacity to connect tissue-level pathology with patient-level outcomes. Together, these results position GloPath as a scalable and interpretable platform for glomerular lesion assessment and clinicopathological discovery, representing a step toward clinically translatable AI in renal pathology.
