cuNRTO: GPU-Accelerated Nonlinear Robust Trajectory Optimization

Robust trajectory optimization enables autonomous systems to operate safely under uncertainty by computing control policies that satisfy the constraints for all bounded disturbances. However, these problems often lead to large Second Order Conic Programming (SOCP) constraints, which are computationally expensive. In this work, we propose the CUDA Nonlinear Robust Trajectory Optimization (cuNRTO) framework by introducing two dynamic optimization architectures that have direct application to robust decision-making and are implemented on CUDA. The first architecture, NRTO-DR, leverages the Douglas-Rachford (DR) splitting method to solve the SOCP inner subproblems of NRTO, thereby significantly reducing the computational burden through parallel SOCP projections and sparse direct solves. The second architecture, NRTO-FullADMM, is a novel variant that further exploits the problem structure to improve scalability using the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM). Finally, we provide GPU implementations of the proposed methodologies using custom CUDA kernels for SOC projection steps and cuBLAS GEMM chains for feedback gain updates. We validate the performance of cuNRTO through simulated experiments on unicycle, quadcopter, and Franka manipulator models, demonstrating speedups of up to 139.6$\times$. Graph-Based Financial Fraud Detection with Calibrated Risk Scoring and Structural Regularization

Financial transaction fraud prevention faces challenges such as complex relationship structures, concealed behavioral patterns, and dynamically changing data distribution. Discrimination models relying solely on independent sample features are insufficient to fully characterize the risks of group collaboration and chain transfers within transaction networks. This paper proposes a graph neural network representation learning and risk discrimination framework for financial transaction fraud prevention. It integrates transaction records and identity information into node attributes and constructs a transaction graph based on shared attributes and interaction consistency to explicitly model inter-transaction relationships. In model design, a multi-layer message passing mechanism is employed to aggregate neighborhood information, learn node embedding representations containing structural context semantics, and output transaction-level fraud probability and risk scores through a lightweight risk discrimination head. A weighted supervision objective is introduced to mitigate training bias caused by class imbalance, and structural consistency regularization constraints are combined to suppress the impact of noisy edges on representation drift, thereby improving the stability and usability of risk characterization. Experiments are conducted on a publicly available financial transaction dataset, comparing various methods in the same direction and comprehensively evaluating them under a unified evaluation protocol. The results show that the proposed method outperforms other methods in risk ranking and probability calibration quality, validating the effectiveness of graph structure modeling and representation learning collaboration in financial transaction fraud prevention.

Real-World Doctor Agent with Proactive Consultation through Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning

Large language models (LLMs) struggle in real-world clinical consultations. Single-turn consultation systems require patients to describe all symptoms at once, which often leads to unclear complaints and vague diagnoses. Traditional dialogue models, constrained by static supervised learning, are limited to superficially imitating existing dialogue patterns and lack the ability to actively construct understanding in dynamic interactions, thus failing to achieve genuine clinical reasoning. To address these challenges, we propose DoctorAgent-RL, a reinforcement learning (RL)-based multi-agent collaborative framework, and train a doctor agent on Qwen2.5-7B-Instruct using this framework. Within this framework, a medical consultation is modeled as a dynamic decision-making process under uncertainty. The core intelligence of the doctor agent is shifted from knowing the answer to learning and mastering a questioning methodology aimed at achieving an optimal diagnosis. Through strategic questioning, it guides the progressive emergence of key patient information in multi-turn dialogues. To support this high-fidelity simulation of the real diagnostic process, we constructed MTMedDialog, a novel English multi-turn medical consultation dataset designed for dynamic, interactive training. To validate its real-world effectiveness, rigorous evaluations including blinded human assessments and trials with real patients were conducted. DoctorAgent-RL outperformed frontier models and achieved a 70% exact diagnostic match rate, confirming its potential as a collaborative tool. By handling initial screenings, it can free clinicians to focus on complex cases, thereby addressing critical issues like physician shortages and misdiagnosis risks while alleviating the strain on healthcare resources.

Development of a compact cryogenic Penning trap with permanent magnets: An intermediate step toward the Shanghai Penning Trap

Penning traps, renowned for their unparalleled precision in determining fundamental properties such as mass and magnetic moments, are cornerstone instruments in modern physics. Their applications span from nuclear structure studies to stringent tests of quantum electrodynamics and CPT invariance. Although Penning traps have been demonstrated for fundamental studies, often employing superconducting magnets, their high cost and operational complexity remain challenges. In this work, we report the development of a compact cryogenic Penning trap that utilizes a permanent magnet to provide a confining magnetic field, offering a more economical and flexible alternative. We have successfully demonstrated all core functionalities of this system, including ion generation, transport, confinement, manipulation, and signal detection. This compact trap not only serves as a vital technical testbed for the development of the Shanghai Penning Trap, but also establishes a cryogenic Penning-trap experiment platform for ion trapping and cooling applications as well as envisaged spectroscopic studies applications.

DeepTaxon: An Interpretable Retrieval-Augmented Multimodal Framework for Unified Species Identification and Discovery

Identifying species in biology among tens of thousands of visually similar taxa while discovering unknown species in open-world environments remains a fundamental challenge in biodiversity research. Current methods treat identification and discovery as separate problems, with classification models assuming closed sets and discovery relying on threshold-based rejection. Here we present DeepTaxon, a retrieval-augmented multimodal framework that unifies species identification and discovery through interpretable reasoning over retrieved visual evidence. Given a query image, DeepTaxon retrieves the top-$k$ candidate species with $n$ exemplar images each from a retrieval index and performs chain-of-thought comparative reasoning. Critically, we redefine discovery as an explicit, retrieval-based decision problem rather than an implicit parametric memory problem. A sample is novel if and only if the retrieval index lacks sufficient evidence for identification, so each retrieval naturally yields a classification or discovery label without manual annotation, thereby providing automatic supervision for both tasks. We train the framework via supervised fine-tuning on synthetic retrieval-augmented data, followed by reinforcement learning on hard samples, converting high-recall retrieval into high-precision decisions that scale to massive taxonomic vocabularies. Extensive experiments on a large-scale in-distribution benchmark and six out-of-distribution datasets demonstrate consistent improvements in both identification and discovery. Ablation studies further reveal effective test-time scaling with candidate count $k$ and exemplar count $n$, strong zero-shot transfer to unseen domains, and consistent performance across retrieval encoders, establishing an interpretable solution for biodiversity research.

LongCat-Next: Lexicalizing Modalities as Discrete Tokens

The prevailing Next-Token Prediction (NTP) paradigm has driven the success of large language models through discrete autoregressive modeling. However, contemporary multimodal systems remain language-centric, often treating non-linguistic modalities as external attachments, leading to fragmented architectures and suboptimal integration. To transcend this limitation, we introduce Discrete Native Autoregressive (DiNA), a unified framework that represents multimodal information within a shared discrete space, enabling a consistent and principled autoregressive modeling across modalities. A key innovation is the Discrete Native Any-resolution Visual Transformer (dNaViT), which performs tokenization and de-tokenization at arbitrary resolutions, transforming continuous visual signals into hierarchical discrete tokens. Building on this foundation, we develop LongCat-Next, a native multimodal model that processes text, vision, and audio under a single autoregressive objective with minimal modality-specific design. As an industrial-strength foundation model, it excels at seeing, painting, and talking within a single framework, achieving strong performance across a wide range of multimodal benchmarks. In particular, LongCat-Next addresses the long-standing performance ceiling of discrete vision modeling on understanding tasks and provides a unified approach to effectively reconcile the conflict between understanding and generation. As an attempt toward native multimodality, we open-source the LongCat-Next and its tokenizers, hoping to foster further research and development in the community. Risk Assessment and Vulnerability Identification of Energy-Transportation Infrastructure Systems to Extreme Weather

The interaction between extreme weather events and interdependent critical infrastructure systems involves complex spatiotemporal dynamics. Multi-type emergency decisions within energy-transportation infrastructures significantly influence system performance throughout the extreme weather process. A comprehensive assessment of these factors faces challenges in model complexity, heterogeneous differences between energy and transportation systems, and cross-sector privacy. This paper proposes a risk assessment framework that integrates the heterogeneous energy and transportation systems in the form of a unified network flow model, which enables full accommodation of multiple types of energy-transportation emergency decisions while capturing the compound spatiotemporal impacts of extreme weather on both systems simultaneously. Based on this framework, a targeted method for identifying system vulnerabilities is further developed. This method employs neural network surrogates to achieve privacy protection and accelerated identification while maintaining consideration of system interdependencies. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed framework and method can reveal the risk levels faced by urban infrastructure systems, identify vulnerabilities that should be prioritized for reinforcement, and strike a balance between accuracy and speed.

ManiTwin: Scaling Data-Generation-Ready Digital Object Dataset to 100K

Learning in simulation provides a useful foundation for scaling robotic manipulation capabilities. However, this paradigm often suffers from a lack of data-generation-ready digital assets, in both scale and diversity. In this work, we present ManiTwin, an automated and efficient pipeline for generating data-generation-ready digital object twins. Our pipeline transforms a single image into simulation-ready and semantically annotated 3D asset, enabling large-scale robotic manipulation data generation. Using this pipeline, we construct ManiTwin-100K, a dataset containing 100K high-quality annotated 3D assets. Each asset is equipped with physical properties, language descriptions, functional annotations, and verified manipulation proposals. Experiments demonstrate that ManiTwin provides an efficient asset synthesis and annotation workflow, and that ManiTwin-100K offers high-quality and diverse assets for manipulation data generation, random scene synthesis, and VQA data generation, establishing a strong foundation for scalable simulation data synthesis and policy learning. TrajFlow: Nation-wide Pseudo GPS Trajectory Generation with Flow Matching Models

The importance of mobile phone GPS trajectory data is widely recognized across many fields, yet the use of real data is often hindered by privacy concerns, limited accessibility, and high acquisition costs. As a result, generating pseudo-GPS trajectory data has become an active area of research. Recent diffusion-based approaches have achieved strong fidelity but remain limited in spatial scale (small urban areas), transportation-mode diversity, and efficiency (requiring numerous sampling steps). To address these challenges, we introduce TrajFlow, which to the best of our knowledge is the first flow-matching-based generative model for GPS trajectory generation. TrajFlow leverages the flow-matching paradigm to improve robustness and efficiency across multiple geospatial scales, and incorporates a trajectory harmonization and reconstruction strategy to jointly address scalability, diversity, and efficiency. Using a nationwide mobile phone GPS dataset with millions of trajectories across Japan, we show that TrajFlow or its variants consistently outperform diffusion-based and deep generative baselines at urban, metropolitan, and nationwide levels. As the first nationwide, multi-scale GPS trajectory generation model, TrajFlow demonstrates strong potential to support inter-region urban planning, traffic management, and disaster response, thereby advancing the resilience and intelligence of future mobility systems.

Hybrid Integration of Quantum Dot Single Photon Sources with Lithium Tantalate Photonics for On Chip Routing

A promising pathway towards scalable quantum photonic processors involves the simultaneous integration of deterministic single-photon sources, low-loss photonic circuitry, and fast reconfigurability. Thin-film lithium tantalate on insulator (LTOI) offers an exceptional electro-optic response and low optical loss at 900 nm wavelength band, yet its lack of efficient quantum emitters has hindered progress toward fully integrated quantum technologies. Here, we demonstrate heterogeneous integration of indium arsenide quantum dots (QDs) with low-loss reconfigurable LTOI waveguides using micro-transfer printing. By directly butt-coupling tapered gallium arsenide waveguides with inversely tapered LTOI waveguides, we achieve robust and alignment-tolerant inter-waveguide coupling. The hybrid chip operates at cryogenic temperatures, enabling deterministic routing of successively emitted single photons from the QDs with a halfwave voltage-length product, confirming the cryogenic stability of LTOI's electro-optic coefficient. These results establish the first demonstration of high-speed on-chip routing of single photons with hybrid QD-LTOI circuits, providing a scalable pathway toward integrated quantum photonic processors.

Meta-cavity Quantum Electrodynamics

Cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED) harnesses light-matter interactions to produce nonclassical light states. However, a fundamental challenge lies in simultaneously achieving Purcell enhancement and tailored wavefront control within a single cavity, due to conflicting resonator requirements. Here, we overcome this limitation by demonstrating triggered single-photon emission with customizable wavefronts from semiconductor quantum dots embedded in geometric-phase metacavities. These monolithic devices - only 200 nm thick - deliver Purcell-enhanced emission alongside spin-momentum-locked radiation, vortex beams, and holographic patterns. The meta-atom lattice provides high-Q optical confinement, while spatially modulated orientations enable efficient outcoupling of photons with designed states. This work establishes a new paradigm for intrinsically multiplexing metasurface-based wavefront shaping with cQED, enabling high-performance quantum light sources from subwavelength-scale monolithic platforms.

ELLMob: Event-Driven Human Mobility Generation with Self-Aligned LLM Framework

Human mobility generation aims to synthesize plausible trajectory data, which is widely used in urban system research. While Large Language Model-based methods excel at generating routine trajectories, they struggle to capture deviated mobility during large-scale societal events. This limitation stems from two critical gaps: (1) the absence of event-annotated mobility datasets for design and evaluation, and (2) the inability of current frameworks to reconcile competitions between users' habitual patterns and event-imposed constraints when making trajectory decisions. This work addresses these gaps with a twofold contribution. First, we construct the first event-annotated mobility dataset covering three major events: Typhoon Hagibis, COVID-19, and the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Second, we propose ELLMob, a self-aligned LLM framework that first extracts competing rationales between habitual patterns and event constraints, based on Fuzzy-Trace Theory, and then iteratively aligns them to generate trajectories that are both habitually grounded and event-responsive. Extensive experiments show that ELLMob wins state-of-the-art baselines across all events, demonstrating its effectiveness. Our codes and datasets are available at https://github.com/deepkashiwa20/ELLMob.

Chiral exceptional bound states in the continuum: a higher-order singularity for on-chip control of quantum emission

We demonstrate a fully integrable and reconfigurable platform for controlling quantum emission by harnessing chiral exceptional bound states in the continuum (BICs) as a higher-order non-Hermitian singularity. Our architecture employs dual-microring resonators evanescently coupled to two waveguides, supporting symmetry-protected BICs. By integrating {a waveguide-coupled reflector} coupled with one resonator as a unidirectional feedback, a pair of orthogonal BICs gets transformed into a single, {chiral quasi-BIC} residing on an exceptional surface. The phase terms in external coupling and inter-modal coupling serve as two independent tuning knobs, enabling unprecedented dynamic control over the spontaneous emission dynamics of individual quantum emitters, including the Purcell enhancement and the emission lineshape. The efficiency in reconfiguring the output intensity gets promoted by more than a factor of two compared to alternative schemes, offering a promising path toward high-speed quantum optical switches and active lifetime control in integrated quantum photonic circuits.

Kinematify: Open-Vocabulary Synthesis of High-DoF Articulated Objects

A deep understanding of kinematic structures and movable components is essential for enabling robots to manipulate objects and model their own articulated forms. Such understanding is captured through articulated objects, which are essential for tasks such as physical simulation, motion planning, and policy learning. However, creating these models, particularly for objects with high degrees of freedom (DoF), remains a significant challenge. Existing methods typically rely on motion sequences or strong assumptions from hand-curated datasets, which hinders scalability. In this paper, we introduce Kinematify, an automated framework that synthesizes articulated objects directly from arbitrary RGB images or textual descriptions. Our method addresses two core challenges: (i) inferring kinematic topologies for high-DoF objects and (ii) estimating joint parameters from static geometry. To achieve this, we combine MCTS search for structural inference with geometry-driven optimization for joint reasoning, producing physically consistent and functionally valid descriptions. We evaluate Kinematify on diverse inputs from both synthetic and real-world environments, demonstrating improvements in registration and kinematic topology accuracy over prior work.

TrajGPT-R: Generating Urban Mobility Trajectory with Reinforcement Learning-Enhanced Generative Pre-trained Transformer

Mobility trajectories are essential for understanding urban dynamics and enhancing urban planning, yet access to such data is frequently hindered by privacy concerns. This research introduces a transformative framework for generating large-scale urban mobility trajectories, employing a novel application of a transformer-based model pre-trained and fine-tuned through a two-phase process. Initially, trajectory generation is conceptualized as an offline reinforcement learning (RL) problem, with a significant reduction in vocabulary space achieved during tokenization. The integration of Inverse Reinforcement Learning (IRL) allows for the capture of trajectory-wise reward signals, leveraging historical data to infer individual mobility preferences. Subsequently, the pre-trained model is fine-tuned using the constructed reward model, effectively addressing the challenges inherent in traditional RL-based autoregressive methods, such as long-term credit assignment and handling of sparse reward environments. Comprehensive evaluations on multiple datasets illustrate that our framework markedly surpasses existing models in terms of reliability and diversity. Our findings not only advance the field of urban mobility modeling but also provide a robust methodology for simulating urban data, with significant implications for traffic management and urban development planning. The implementation is publicly available at https://github.com/Wangjw6/TrajGPT_R.

Wide-angle emission in cylindrical moiré lattices enabled by rolling origami

Twisted photonic lattices that form moiré superlattices have attracted significant attention owing to their unique properties, such as strong field confinement and high-quality factors, in which the localized optical modes can serve as efficient light sources. However, in conventional moiré lattices, the emission direction of confined modes is typically fixed, and achieving a broad range of emission angles through simple modulation remains a significant challenge. Here, we design and fabricate single-layer moiré photonic lattices into cylindrical geometries using a nanomembrane origami technique. This approach enables wide-angle localized-mode emission while maintaining stable single-mode operation and excellent spectral uniformity. The moiré supercells support localized flat-band modes under various effective twist angles, resulting in the observation of periodic localized-mode emission over a wide range of azimuthal angles. Our research provides an approach for developing moiré light sources on curved surfaces, offering significant potential in applications that demand spatial light control, including three dimensional imaging, light detection and ranging, and topological states manipulation.

WideSeek: Advancing Wide Research via Multi-Agent Scaling

Search intelligence is evolving from Deep Research to Wide Research, a paradigm essential for retrieving and synthesizing comprehensive information under complex constraints in parallel. However, progress in this field is impeded by the lack of dedicated benchmarks and optimization methodologies for search breadth. To address these challenges, we take a deep dive into Wide Research from two perspectives: Data Pipeline and Agent Optimization. First, we produce WideSeekBench, a General Broad Information Seeking (GBIS) benchmark constructed via a rigorous multi-phase data pipeline to ensure diversity across the target information volume, logical constraints, and domains. Second, we introduce WideSeek, a dynamic hierarchical multi-agent architecture that can autonomously fork parallel sub-agents based on task requirements. Furthermore, we design a unified training framework that linearizes multi-agent trajectories and optimizes the system using end-to-end RL. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of WideSeek and multi-agent RL, highlighting that scaling the number of agents is a promising direction for advancing the Wide Research paradigm.

Electrically switchable photonic diode empowered by chiral resonance

The on-chip integration of nonreciprocal optical devices remains a critical challenge for modern optoelectronics, as conventional magneto-optic approaches suffer from material incompatibility and excessive optical losses. Nonlinear photonic diodes have emerged as a promising magnet-free alternative, yet their widespread adoption has been constrained by inherent limitations in reconfigurability. Here, we present an all-silicon, electrically tunable photonic diode leveraging engineered chiral resonances in an ultra-compact microring architecture. The pronounced asymmetric modal coupling enables nonreciprocal transmission with two distinct operation modes at threshold powers down to -5 dBm. The chirality further enables unprecedented control over self-pulsation dynamics, manifesting in propagation-direction-dependent oscillation thresholds and temporal signatures. Crucially, post-fabrication electrical reconfigurability allows dynamic switching between forward, backward, and disabled states. This work represents a significant advancement in integrated nonreciprocal photonics, offering a CMOS-compatible solution with transformative potential for optical interconnects, photonic neural networks, and signal processing systems.
