Qwen-Image-Bench: From Generation to Creation in Text-to-Image Evaluation

Text-to-Image generation has evolved from basic image synthesis into a frequently used core capability in professional creative workflows, where simple text-image alignment can no longer satisfy users' pressing demands for faithful real-world reconstruction and genuine creative expression. Existing benchmarks, however, remain anchored in these foundational criteria and do not yet capture the nuanced capabilities that matter in authentic artistic practice, making it difficult to reliably distinguish state-of-the-art T2I models. To address the gap, we introduce Qwen-Image-Bench, a creator-centric benchmark co-designed with professional artists and grounded in real-world creation scenarios. Qwen-Image-Bench enriches conventional evaluation with two application-driven dimensions: Real-world Fidelity and Creative Generation. Drawing on the staged reasoning inherent in professional artistic workflows, we organize these five pillars into a top-down hierarchical taxonomy that further decomposes into 23 second-level sub-capabilities and 56 third-level verifiable rubrics. To ensure broad coverage, we curate 1000 stratified prompts with each prompt jointly exercising more than four fine-grained facets across multiple pillars. We train a unified judge model Q-Judger based on Qwen3.6-27B, supervised by 80 professional annotators from global art academies under blind labeling and triple-review protocols, that scores every image across all 56 verifiable facets, producing fine-grained, rubric-grounded, and fully attributable diagnostics rather than a single opaque score. Empirically, Qwen-Image-Bench reliably distinguishes leading T2I models, achieving the greatest separation on the two application-driven dimensions of Real-world Fidelity and Creative Generation where existing benchmarks provide little insight, while also providing a trustworthy optimization signal for production-level T2I development.

Qwen-Image-2.0-RL Technical Report

We present Qwen-Image-2.0-RL, a post-training pipeline that applies reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) and on-policy distillation (OPD) to improve both the visual quality and instruction-following capability of the Qwen-Image-2.0 diffusion model. To provide reliable reward signals, we construct task-specific composite reward models by fine-tuning vision-language models with a pointwise scoring paradigm and chain-of-thought reasoning. For text-to-image generation, the reward models cover alignment, aesthetics, and portrait fidelity dimensions. For image editing tasks, the reward system addresses instruction-following accuracy and face identity preservation. Building on this reward system, we develop a scalable GRPO-based RL training framework, incorporating a hybrid classifier-free guidance (CFG) strategy to preserve pre-trained knowledge, prompt curation via intra-group reward range filtering, and per-category reward weight calibration. To merge the task-specialized RL policies for T2I and editing, we propose on-policy distillation as the final training stage, which consolidates multiple teachers into a single student model through trajectory-level velocity matching. Extensive evaluation shows that Qwen-Image-2.0-RL achieves 57.84 overall score on Qwen-Image-Bench (+2.61 over the base model), Elo ratings of 1193 in text-to-image arena (+78) and 1349 in image edit arena (+93), demonstrating consistent gains in aesthetic quality, prompt adherence, and editing accuracy.

On the Classifying Space of Homogeneous Functors

Let $M$ be a manifold and let $\mathcal{M}$ be a simplicial model category. Given an object $A$ in $\mathcal{M}$, Tsopméné and Stanley constructed a topological space $\hat{A}$ that classifies homogeneous functors of degree $k$ from the poset of open subsets of $M$ into $\mathcal{M}$. They showed that the set of weak equivalent classes of such functors that maps disjoint union of $k$ open balls to $A$ is in bijection with the set $[F_k(M), \hat{A}]$ of homotopy classes of maps out of $F_k(M)$, the unordered configuration space of $k$ points in $M$. In this paper, we begin a study of the space $\hat{A}$, and we prove that $\hat{A}$ is weakly equivalent to the classifying space $B\mathrm{haut}(A)$, where $\mathrm{haut}(A)$ is the simplicial monoid of self weak equivalences of $A$. This proves a conjecture of Tsopméné and Stanley. Our result enables us to generalize the classification of homogeneous functors of Weiss for $\mathcal{M}=\mathcal{T}\mathrm{op}$ to any simplicial model category.

Qwen-RobotWorld Technical Report: Unifying Embodied World Modeling through Language-Conditioned Video Generation

We introduce Qwen-RobotWorld, a language-conditioned video world model for embodied intelligence. With natural language as a unified action interface, it predicts physically grounded future visual trajectories from current observations across robotic manipulation, autonomous driving, indoor navigation, and human-to-robot transfer. This unified formulation provides three promising application directions: synthetic data generation for policy training augmentation, scalable virtual environments for policy evaluation, and language-guided planning signals for downstream robot control. This is achieved through a three-part design: a) Double-Stream MMDiT with MLLM Action Encoding, where a 60-layer double-stream diffusion transformer couples frozen Qwen2.5-VL semantics with video-VAE latents through layer-wise joint attention; b) Embodied World Knowledge (EWK), an 8.6M video-text corpus (200M+ frames) with action-language mapping over 20+ embodiments and 500+ action categories; and c) General+Expert Progressive Curriculum, a two-stage training strategy that first learns general visual priors and then injects embodied specialization under a shared language interface. Extensive results show strong competitiveness: ranks 1st overall on EWMBench and DreamGen Bench, outperforms all open-source models on WorldModelBench and PBench. Additional zero-shot analyses on RoboTwin-IF benchmark further support robust generalization and multi-view consistency.

Spatio-Sequential Recurrent Network for 3-D Tunnel Propagation Modeling

Fine-mesh parabolic wave equation (PWE) simulations are high-fidelity but time-consuming, which limits real-time tunnel propagation analysis and motivates coarse-to-fine reconstruction. Existing machine learning (ML)-assisted tunnel models typically provide only one-dimensional (1-D) longitudinal refinement or two-dimensional (2-D) cross-sectional refinement, rather than joint 3-D enhancement. Motivated by this gap, this letter proposes a U-shaped gated spatio-sequential recurrent neural network (UG-SSRNN), a spatio-sequential reconstruction model for tunnel electromagnetic fields. UG-SSRNN jointly super-resolves transverse slices and models longitudinal evolution. It uses sliding-window context encoding and a K-layer convolutional recurrent backbone with a shared propagation-context state and diagonal feedback. A prediction-aware upsampling head leverages the previous prediction to improve slice-to-slice consistency. Experiments on four tunnel cross sections, unseen-material and unseen-frequency tests, and validation in the Massif Central tunnel show close agreement with fine-mesh PWE references. The proposed approach significantly reduces tunnel electromagnetic modeling time.

Ultra-Fast Neural Video Compression

While neural video codecs (NVCs) have demonstrated superior compression ratio, their prohibitive computational complexity remains a critical barrier to real-world deployment. This paper introduces a chunk-based coding framework designed to significantly improve the rate-distortion-complexity trade-off. Instead of processing frames sequentially, our approach encodes a chunk of multiple frames into a single compact latent representation and decodes them simultaneously. This is enabled by cross-frame interaction modules for joint spatial-temporal modeling and frame-specific decoders for parallel reconstruction. This paradigm not only dramatically enhances coding throughput but also facilitates more effective modeling of long-term temporal correlations. To further boost speed, we propose a streamlined entropy coding mechanism that consolidates bit-stream interactions into a single step, substantially reducing decoding overhead. Building on these innovations, we present DCVC-UF (Ultra-Fast), a new NVC that sets a new SOTA in performance. Our experiments show that DCVC-UF can achieve ultra-fast encoding and decoding speeds, significantly outperforming previous leading codecs. DCVC-UF serves as a notable landmark in the journey of NVC evolution. The code is at https://github.com/microsoft/DCVC.

An Efficient Streaming Video Understanding Framework with Agentic Control

Streaming video requires handling dynamic information density under strict latency budgets. Yet, existing methods typically employ static strategies, such as fixed memory compression or reliance on a single model, forcing a trade-off: fast models fail on complex queries, while always-on heavy models violate real-time constraints and overcomplicate simple queries. Rather than fixing these decisions upfront, we propose R3-Streaming (Remember, Respond, Reason), which formulates streaming video understanding as a cascaded control problem: for each query, the system compresses memory, judges response readiness, and routes computation sequentially, so that each downstream decision builds on progressively refined information states. To optimize this pipeline, we introduce an age-aware forgetting policy for memory compression, as aggressively compressing historical frames can yield substantial performance gains. For compute routing, we propose TB-GRPO, a target-balanced reinforcement learning objective that routes hard queries to a stronger model while preventing mode collapse. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that R3-Streaming achieves state-of-the-art results among streaming MLLMs, reaching 57.92 on OVO-Bench and 76.36 on StreamingBench, while reducing visual token usage by 95 to 96 percent.

Decoupling heat and electricity: A thermal invisible gateway

The Wiedemann-Franz law couples electrical and thermal conductivity, making high electrical conduction with low thermal conduction a major challenge. To overcome this, we designed an active thermal metasurface (ATMS) - based thermal invisible gateway that decouples thermal and electrical paths. Built on a copper substrate with a dumbbell-shaped bridge, the structure suppresses heat flow via directional compensation while allowing unimpeded electrical conduction. Room-temperature experiments show an effective thermal conductivity below 10^-3 W m^-1 K^-1 (near zero, air-like insulation) and an electrical conductivity up to 2.8x10^7 S m^-1 (metal-level). Unlike conventional material-modification approaches, our work uses macroscopic structural design to break the intrinsic coupling, offering a promising solution for applications like on-chip interconnects and wearable electronics.

Compression as Adaptation: Implicit Visual Representation with Diffusion Foundation Models

Modern visual generative models acquire rich visual knowledge through large-scale training, yet existing visual representations (such as pixels, latents, or tokens) remain external to the model and cannot directly exploit this knowledge for compact storage or reuse. In this work, we introduce a new visual representation framework that encodes a signal as a function, which is parametrized by low-rank adaptations attached to a frozen visual generative model. Such implicit representations of visual signals, \textit{e.g.}, an 81-frame video, can further be hashed into a single compact vector, achieving strong perceptual video compression at extremely low bitrates. Beyond basic compression, the functional nature of this representation enables inference-time scaling and control, allowing additional refinement on the compression performance. More broadly, as the implicit representations directly act as a function of the generation process, this suggests a unified framework bridging visual compression and generation.

Efficient 3D Content Reconstruction and Generation

Automatic 3D content creation seeks to replace labor-intensive modeling and scanning pipelines with systems that can synthesize or recover 3D assets directly from text or images. Its applications span video games, virtual reality, robotics, and simulation, enabling rapid asset prototyping, diverse interactive world generation, and efficient 3D data collection for training foundation models. Contemporary solutions largely follow two complementary paradigms: (i) text- or image-to-3D generation, which learns priors over 3D geometry and appearance to create novel assets from natural language or a single view image; and (ii) 3D reconstruction, which estimates camera poses and geometry from RGB images. This thesis advances both directions. On the generation side, I introduce Instant3D, which combines multi-view diffusion with feed-forward sparse-view 3D reconstruction to produce high-quality assets in 5-20 seconds. On the reconstruction side, I develop FastMap, a structure-from-motion pipeline that achieves up to 10x speedup over prior state-of-the-art by using first-order optimization with fused GPU kernels extensively, while maintaining comparable pose accuracy and downstream novel view synthesis quality.

Qwen-Image-VAE-2.0 Technical Report

We present Qwen-Image-VAE-2.0, a suite of high-compression Variational Autoencoders (VAEs) that achieve significant advances in both reconstruction fidelity and diffusability. To address the reconstruction bottlenecks of high compression, we adopt an improved architecture featuring Global Skip Connections (GSC) and expanded latent channels. Moreover, we scale training to billions of images and incorporate a synthetic rendering engine to improve performance in text-rich scenarios. To tackle the convergence challenges of high-dimensional latent space, we implement an enhanced semantic alignment strategy to make the latent space highly amenable to diffusion modeling. To optimize computational efficiency, we leverage an asymmetric and attention-free encoder-decoder backbone to minimize encoding overhead. We present a comprehensive evaluation of Qwen-Image-VAE-2.0 on public reconstruction benchmarks. To evaluate performance in text-rich scenarios, we propose OmniDoc-TokenBench, a new benchmark comprising a diverse collection of real-world documents coupled with specialized OCR-based evaluation metrics. Qwen-Image-VAE-2.0 achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction performance, demonstrating exceptional capabilities in both general domains and text-rich scenarios at high compression ratio. Furthermore, downstream DiT experiments reveal our models possess superior diffusability, significantly accelerating convergence compared to existing high-compression baselines. These establish Qwen-Image-VAE-2.0 as a leading model with high compression, superior reconstruction, and exceptional diffusability.

Qwen-Image-2.0 Technical Report

We present Qwen-Image-2.0, an omni-capable image generation foundation model that unifies high-fidelity generation and precise image editing within a single framework. Despite recent progress, existing models still struggle with ultra-long text rendering, multilingual typography, high-resolution photorealism, robust instruction following, and efficient deployment, especially in text-rich and compositionally complex scenarios. Qwen-Image-2.0 addresses these challenges by coupling Qwen3-VL as the condition encoder with a Multimodal Diffusion Transformer for joint condition-target modeling, supported by large-scale data curation and a customized multi-stage training pipeline. This enables strong multimodal understanding while preserving flexible generation and editing capabilities. The model supports instructions of up to 1K tokens for generating text-rich content such as slides, posters, infographics, and comics, while significantly improving multilingual text fidelity and typography. It also enhances photorealistic generation with richer details, more realistic textures, and coherent lighting, and follows complex prompts more reliably across diverse styles. Extensive human evaluations show that Qwen-Image-2.0 substantially outperforms previous Qwen-Image models in both generation and editing, marking a step toward more general, reliable, and practical image generation foundation models.

Towards High-Fidelity CAD Generation via LLM-Driven Program Generation and Text-Based B-Rep Primitive Grounding

The field of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) generation has made significant progress in recent years. Existing methods typically fall into two separate categories: parametric CAD modeling and direct boundary representation (B-Rep) synthesis. In modern feature-based CAD systems, parametric modeling and B-Rep are inherently intertwined, as advanced parametric operations (e.g., fillet and chamfer) require explicit selection of B-Rep geometric primitives, and the B-Rep itself is derived from parametric operations. Consequently, this paradigm gap remains a critical factor limiting AI-driven CAD modeling for complex industrial product design. This paper presents FutureCAD, a novel text-to-CAD framework that leverages large language models (LLMs) and a B-Rep grounding transformer (BRepGround) for high-fidelity CAD generation. Our method generates executable CadQuery scripts, and introduces a text-based query mechanism that enables the LLM to specify geometric selections via natural language, which BRepGround then grounds to the target primitives. To train our framework, we construct a new dataset comprising real-world CAD models. For the LLM, we apply supervised fine-tuning (SFT) to establish fundamental CAD generation capabilities, followed by reinforcement learning (RL) to improve generalization. Experiments show that FutureCAD achieves state-of-the-art CAD generation performance. Code and dataset are available at: https://github.com/JohanStackk/FutureCAD

Virtual boundary integral neural network for three-dimensional exterior acoustic problems

This paper presents a virtual boundary integral neural network (VBINN) for exterior acoustic problems in three dimensions. The method introduces a virtual boundary inside the scatterer or vibrating body and represents the associated source density with a neural network. Coupled with the acoustic fundamental solution, this representation satisfies the Sommerfeld radiation condition by construction and enables direct evaluation of the acoustic pressure and its normal derivative at arbitrary field points. Because the integration surface is separated from the physical boundary, the formulation avoids the singular and near singular kernel evaluations associated with coincident source and collocation points in conventional boundary integral learning methods. To reduce sensitivity to boundary placement, the geometric parameters of the virtual boundary are optimized jointly with the source density during training. Numerical examples for acoustic scattering, multiple body interaction, and underwater acoustic propagation show close agreement with analytical solutions and COMSOL results, and the Burton Miller extension further improves stability near characteristic frequencies. These results demonstrate the potential of VBINN for exterior acoustic analysis in three dimensions.

SAVE: A Generalizable Framework for Multi-Condition Single-Cell Generation with Gene Block Attention

Modeling single-cell gene expression across diverse biological and technical conditions is crucial for characterizing cellular states and simulating unseen scenarios. Existing methods often treat genes as independent tokens, overlooking their high-level biological relationships and leading to poor performance. We introduce SAVE, a unified generative framework based on conditional Transformers for multi-condition single-cell modeling. SAVE leverages a coarse-grained representation by grouping semantically related genes into blocks, capturing higher-order dependencies among gene modules. A Flow Matching mechanism and condition-masking strategy further enhance flexible simulation and enable generalization to unseen condition combinations. We evaluate SAVE on a range of benchmarks, including conditional generation, batch effect correction, and perturbation prediction. SAVE consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods in generation fidelity and extrapolative generalization, especially in low-resource or combinatorially held-out settings. Overall, SAVE offers a scalable and generalizable solution for modeling complex single-cell data, with broad utility in virtual cell synthesis and biological interpretation. When Slower Isn't Truer: Inverse Scaling Law of Truthfulness in Multimodal Reasoning

Reasoning models have attracted increasing attention for their ability to tackle complex tasks, embodying the System II (slow thinking) paradigm in contrast to System I (fast, intuitive responses). Yet a key question remains: Does slower reasoning necessarily lead to more truthful answers? Our findings suggest otherwise. We conduct the first systematic study of the inverse scaling law in slow-thinking paradigms for multimodal reasoning. We find that when confronted with incomplete or misleading visual inputs, slow-thinking models are more prone to fabricating plausible yet false details to justify untruthful reasoning. To analyze this behavior, we construct a 5,000-sample hierarchical prompt dataset annotated by 50 human participants. The prompts progressively increase in complexity, revealing a consistent pattern: slower reasoning models tend to follow depth-first search (DFS) thinking, persistently exploring flawed premises, while faster chat models favor breadth-first search (BFS) inference, showing greater caution under uncertainty. These findings reveal a critical vulnerability of reasoning models: while effective in structured domains such as math, their DFS-style reasoning becomes fragile when confronted with ambiguous, multimodal inputs.

Giving Faces Their Feelings Back: Explicit Emotion Control for Feedforward Single-Image 3D Head Avatars

We present a framework for explicit emotion control in feed-forward, single-image 3D head avatar reconstruction. Unlike existing pipelines where emotion is implicitly entangled with geometry or appearance, we treat emotion as a first-class control signal that can be manipulated independently and consistently across identities. Our method injects emotion into existing feed-forward architectures via a dual-path modulation mechanism without modifying their core design. Geometry modulation performs emotion-conditioned normalization in the original parametric space, disentangling emotional state from speech-driven articulation, while appearance modulation captures identity-aware, emotion-dependent visual cues beyond geometry. To enable learning under this setting, we construct a time-synchronized, emotion-consistent multi-identity dataset by transferring aligned emotional dynamics across identities. Integrated into multiple state-of-the-art backbones, our framework preserves reconstruction and reenactment fidelity while enabling controllable emotion transfer, disentangled manipulation, and smooth emotion interpolation, advancing expressive and scalable 3D head avatars.

CoD-Lite: Real-Time Diffusion-Based Generative Image Compression

Recent advanced diffusion methods typically derive strong generative priors by scaling diffusion transformers. However, scaling fails to generalize when adapted for real-time compression scenarios that demand lightweight models. In this paper, we explore the design of real-time and lightweight diffusion codecs by addressing two pivotal questions. First, does diffusion pre-training benefit lightweight diffusion codecs? Through systematic analysis, we find that generation-oriented pre-training is less effective at small model scales whereas compression-oriented pre-training yields consistently better performance. Second, are transformers essential? We find that while global attention is crucial for standard generation, lightweight convolutions suffice for compression-oriented diffusion when paired with distillation. Guided by these findings, we establish a one-step lightweight convolution diffusion codec that achieves real-time $60$~FPS encoding and $42$~FPS decoding at 1080p. Further enhanced by distillation and adversarial learning, the proposed codec reduces bitrate by 85\% at a comparable FID to MS-ILLM, bridging the gap between generative compression and practical real-time deployment. Codes are released at https://github.com/microsoft/GenCodec/tree/main/CoD_Lite
