Parabolic implosion in dimension 2

In this paper, we extend the theory of parabolic implosion in complex dimension 2 to the case of holomorphic maps tangent to the identity at order 2. We investigate the bifurcation phenomena that occur when a fully parabolic fixed point is perturbed. Under the assumption of a non-degenerate characteristic direction with a formal invariant curve and director $\alpha$ satisfying $\re\alpha> 2$, we establish the existence of Lavaurs maps as limits of iterates $f_{\epsilon_n}^n$ for specific sequences of the perturbation parameter $\epsilon_n$. Finally, we apply these results to prove the discontinuity of the Julia sets $J_1$ and $J_2$ for holomorphic endomorphisms of $\mathbb{P}^2$, generalizing classical one-dimensional results to this higher-dimensional setting.

Non-bulging Fatou components for transcendental skew-products

In this paper, we investigate the bulging of escaping or oscillating Fatou components on invariant fibers for general skew-products, with a focus on the dependence on the perturbation. We show that any orbitally unbounded component is non-bulging for an appropriate choice of perturbation, whereas sufficiently well-behaved perturbations can render it bulging when the fiber is attracting. Our results highlight that bulging is influenced by more than just the dynamics on the fiber and in the one-dimensional coordinate, contrasting sharply with established results for non-escaping Fatou components.

Non-bulging Baker domains for transcendental skew products

In this paper we show that Baker domains of transcendental skew products can either bulge or not, depending on the higher order terms. This is in contrast to polynomial skew products where all Fatou components with bounded orbits of an invariant attracting fiber do bulge.

Entire or rational maps with integer multipliers

Let $\mathcal{O}_{K}$ be the ring of integers of an imaginary quadratic field $K$. Recently, Ji and Xie proved that every rational map $f \colon \widehat{\mathbb{C}} \rightarrow \widehat{\mathbb{C}}$ of degree $d \geq 2$ whose multipliers all lie in $\mathcal{O}_{K}$ is a power map, a Chebyshev map or a Lattès map. Their proof relies on a result from non-Archimedean dynamics obtained by Rivera-Letelier. In the present note, we show that one can avoid using this result by considering a differential equation instead. Our proof of Ji and Xie's result also applies to the case of entire maps. Thus, we also show that every nonaffine entire map $f \colon \mathbb{C} \rightarrow \mathbb{C}$ whose multipliers all lie in $\mathcal{O}_{K}$ is a power map or a Chebyshev map.

Introduction to Fatou components in holomorphic dynamics

This survey is an introduction to the classification of Fatou components in holomorphic dynamics. We start with the description of the Fatou and Julia sets for rational maps of the Riemann sphere, and finish with an account of the recent results on Fatou components for polynomial skew-products in complex dimension two, where we focus on the key steps in the construction giving the existence of a wandering domain for a polynomial endomorphism of $\mathbb{C}^2$.

Toeplitz Operators and Skew Carleson measures for weighted Bergman spaces on strongly pseudoconvex domains

In this paper we study mapping properties of Toeplitz-like operators on weighted Bergman spaces of bounded strongly pseudconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$. In particular we prove that a Toeplitz operator built using as kernel a weighted Bergman kernel of weight $β$ and integrating against a measure $μ$ maps continuously (when $β$ is large enough) a weighted Bergman space $A^{p_1}_{α_1}(D)$ into a weighted Bergman space $A^{p_2}_{α_2}(D)$ if and only if $μ$ is a $(λ,γ)$-skew Carleson measure, where $λ=1+\frac{1}{p_1}-\frac{1}{p_2}$ and $γ=\frac{1}λ\left(β+\frac{α_1}{p_1}-\frac{α_2}{p_2}\right)$. This theorem generalizes results obtained by Pau and Zhao on the unit ball, and extends and makes more precise results obtained by Abate, Raissy and Saracco on a smaller class of Toeplitz operators on bounded strongly pseudoconvex domains.

Automorphisms of $\mathbb C^k$ with an invariant non-recurrent attracting Fatou component biholomorphic to $\mathbb C\times (\mathbb C^\ast)^{k-1}$

We prove the existence of automorphisms of $\mathbb C^k$, $k\ge 2$, having an invariant, non-recurrent Fatou component biholomorphic to $\mathbb C \times (\mathbb C^\ast)^{k-1}$ which is attracting, in the sense that all the orbits converge to a fixed point on the boundary of the component. Such a Fatou component also avoids $k$ analytic discs intersecting transversally at the fixed point. As a corollary, we obtain a Runge copy of $\mathbb C \times (\mathbb C^\ast)^{k-1}$ in $\mathbb C^k$.

Backward iteration in strongly convex domains

We prove that a backward orbit with bounded Kobayashi step for a hyperbolic or strongly elliptic holomorphic self-map of a bounded strongly convex domain in the d-dimensional complex Euclidean space necessarily converges to a boundary fixed point, generalizing previous results obtained by Poggi-Corradini in the unit disk and by Ostapyuk in the unit ball.

Stable manifolds of two-dimensional biholomorphisms asymptotic to formal curves

Let $F\in\mathrm{Diff}(\mathbb{C}^2,0)$ be a germ of a holomorphic diffeomorphism and let $Γ$ be an invariant formal curve of $F$. Assume that the restricted diffeomorphism $F|_Γ$ is either hyperbolic attracting or rationally neutral non-periodic (these are the conditions that the diffeomorphism $F|_Γ$ should satisfy, if $Γ$ were convergent, in order to have orbits converging to the origin). Then we prove that $F$ has finitely many stable manifolds, either open domains or parabolic curves, consisting of and containing all converging orbits asymptotic to $Γ$. Our results generalize to the case where $Γ$ is a formal periodic curve of $F$.

Skew Carleson measures in strongly pseudoconvex domains

Given a bounded strongly pseudoconvex domain $D$ in $\mathbb{C}^n$ with smooth boundary, we give a characterization through products of functions in weighted Bergman spaces of $(λ,γ)$-skew Carleson measures on $D$, with $λ>0$ and $γ>1-\frac{1}{n+1}$.

Fatou components of elliptic polynomial skew products

We investigate the description of Fatou components for polynomial skew-products in two complex variables. The non-existence of wandering domains near a super-attracting invariant fiber was shown in [L], and the geometrically-attracting case was studied in [PV] and [PS]. In [ABDPR] it was proven that wandering domains can exist near a parabolic invariant fiber. In this paper we study the remaining case, namely the dynamics near an elliptic invariant fiber. We prove that the two-dimensional Fatou components near the elliptic invariant fiber correspond exactly to the Fatou components of the restriction to the fiber, under the assumption that the multiplier at the elliptic invariant fiber satisfies the Brjuno condition and that the restriction polynomial has no critical points on the Julia set. We also show the description does not hold when the Brjuno condition is dropped. Our main tool is the construction of expanding metrics on nearby fibers, and one of the key steps in this construction is given by a local description of the dynamics near a parabolic periodic cycle.

A two-dimensional polynomial mapping with a wandering Fatou component

We show that there exist polynomial endomorphisms of C^2, possessing a wandering Fatou component. These mappings are polynomial skew-products, and can be chosen to extend holomorphically of P^2(C). We also find real examples with wandering domains in R^2. The proof is based on parabolic implosion techniques, and is based on an original idea of M. Lyubich.

A survey on non-autonomous basins in several complex variables

Consider a holomorphic automorphism which acts hyperbolically on some invariant compact set. Then for every point in the compact set there exists a stable manifold, which is a complex manifold diffeomorphic to real Euclidean space. If the point is fixed, then the stable manifold is even biholomorphic to complex Euclidean space. In fact, it is known that the stable manifold of a generic point is biholomorphic to Euclidean space, and it has been conjectured that this holds for every point. In this article we survey the history of this problem, addressing both known results and the techniques used to obtain those results. Moreover, we present a list of seemingly simpler open problems and prove several new results, all pointing towards a positive answer to the conjecture discussed above.

Dynamics of two-resonant biholomorphisms

In this paper we study the existence of basins of attraction for germs of 2-resonant biholomorphisms of $\C^n$ fixing a point, that is germs such that the eigenvalues of the differential at the fixed point have a 2 dimensional family of resonances.

Wolff-Denjoy theorems in non-smooth convex domains

We give a short proof of Wolff-Denjoy theorem for (not necessarily smooth) strictly convex domains. With similar techniques we are also able to prove a Wolff-Denjoy theorem for weakly convex domains, again without any smoothness assumption on the boundary.
