Transient triplet blockade in Andreev junction

We study the time-dependent triplet configuration, appearing under nonequilibrium conditions in a nanoscopic junction with two quantum dots coupled in series between superconductor and normal metallic lead. We show that in the situation, when both quantum dots are singly occupied by identical spin electrons, the on-dot electron pairing is suppressed what substantially affects the subgap charge transport. We investigate processes in which such configuration can be temporarily encountered, either due to the initial conditions or by imposing the external magnetic field. Our analytical and numerical calculations provide estimations for the temporal scales, characterizing evolution of the triplet configuration which could be manifested in the time-resolved tunneling measurements. Such nonequilibrium features of the triplet configuration might be relevant to operations on superconducting qubits, in their conventional and/or topological realizations.

Dynamical leakage of Majorana mode into side-attached quantum dot

We study a hybrid structure, comprising the single-level quantum dot attached to the topological superconducting nanowire, inspecting dynamical transfer of the Majorana quasiparticle onto normal region. Motivated by the recent experimental realization of such heterostructure and its investigation under the stationary conditions [L. Schneider et al., https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-020-18540-3, Nature Communications 11, 4707 (2020)] where the quantum dot energy level can be tuned by gate potential we examine how much time is needed for the Majorana mode to leak into the normal region. We estimate, that for typical hybrid structures this dynamical process would take about 20 nanoseconds. We propose a feasible empirical protocol for its detection by means of the time-resolved Andreev tunneling spectroscopy.

Kondo and Majorana signatures near the singlet-doublet quantum phase transition

We study the low energy spectrum of a correlated quantum dot embedded between the normal conducting and superconducting reservoirs and hybridized with the topological superconducting nanowire, hosting the Majorana end-modes. We investigate the leaking Majorana quasiparticle and inspect its interplay with the proximity induced on-dot pairing and correlations. In particular, we focus on the subgap Kondo effect near the quantum phase transition/crossover from the spinfull (doublet) to the spinless (BCS-type singlet) configurations. Treating the correlations perturbatively and within the NRG approach we study its signatures observable in the Andreev (particle-to-hole conversion) tunneling spectroscopy. We find, that the leaking Majorana mode has a spin-selective influence on the subgap Kondo effect.

Spin-resolved interference due to Majorana state on interface between normal and superconducting leads

We investigate the subgap spectrum and transport properties of the quantum dot placed on interface between metallic and superconducting leads and additionally side-coupled to the edge of topological superconducting (TS) chain, hosting the Majorana quasiparticle. Due to chiral nature of the Majorana states only one spin component, say $\uparrow$, of the quantum dot electrons is directly hybridized with the TS wire. We study the spin-selective interferometric patterns driven by the Majorana quasiparticle. The proximity induced on-dot pairing effectively transmits the interference onto both spin components, but each of them is characterized by completely different (even opposite) signatures. To explain their origin we confront our results with the toy model, where TS chain is replaced by the usual quantum and the tunneling of $\downarrow$ electrons is prohibited. We also address unique interplay of the Majorana and Kondo features, both appearing at zero energy.

Enhancements of Andreev conductance induced by the photon/vibron scattering

We analyze the subgap spectrum and transport properties of the quantum dot embedded between one superconducting and another metallic reservoirs and additionally coupled to an external boson mode. Emission/absorption of the bosonic quanta induces a series of the subgap Andreev states, that eventually interfere with each other. We discuss their signatures in the differential conductance both, for the linear and nonlinear regimes.

In-gap states of the quantum dot coupled between a normal and superconducting lead

We study the in-gap states of the quantum dot hybridized to a conducting and superconducting electrode. The usual proximity effect suppresses electronic states over the entire subgap regime $|ω| < Δ$, where $Δ$ denotes the energy gap of superconductor. Owing to the Andreev scattering there can, however, emerge additional in-gap states whose line-broadening (inverse life-time) depends on the coupling to a normal electrode. We show that even number of such bound states appears in the quantum dot spectrum, depending on a competition between the Coulomb repulsion and the induced on-dot pairing. We discuss signatures of these in-gap states showing up in the tunneling conductance, especially in a low-bias regime dominated by the Andreev channel.

Replicas of the Fano resonances induced by phonons in a subgap Andreev tunneling

We study influence of the phonon modes on a subgap spectrum and Andreev conductance for the double quantum dot vertically coupled between a metallic and superconducting lead. For the monochromatic phonon reservoir we obtain replicas of the interferometric Fano-type structures appearing simultaneously in the particle and hole channels. We furthermore confront the induced on-dot pairing with the electron correlations and investigate how the phonon modes affect the zero-bias signature of the Kondo effect in Andreev conductance.

Decoherence effect on the Fano lineshapes in double quantum dots coupled between normal and superconducting leads

We investigate the Fano-type spectroscopic lineshapes of the T-shape double quantum dot coupled between the conducting and superconducting electrodes and analyze their stability on a decoherence. Because of the proximity effect the quantum interference patterns appear simultaneously at +/- epsilon_2, where epsilon_2 is an energy of the side-attached quantum dot. We find that decoherence gradually suppresses both such interferometric structures. We also show that at low temperatures another tiny Fano-type structure can be induced upon forming the Kondo state on the side-coupled quantum dot due to its coupling to the floating lead.

Fano-type interference in quantum dots coupled between metallic and superconducting leads

We analyze the quantum interference effects appearing in the charge current through the double quantum dots coupled in T-shape configuration to an isotropic superconductor and metallic lead. Owing to proximity effect the quantum dots inherit a pairing which has the profound influence on nonequilibrium charge transport, especially in the subgap regime |eV| < Delta. We discuss under what conditions the Fano-type lineshapes might appear in such Andreev conductance and consider a possible interplay with the strong correlation effects.
