Torelli theorem for the product of moduli spaces of vector bundles over a curve

We prove a Torelli-type theorem for a product of the moduli spaces of semistable vector bundles over smooth projective curves of genus $g\,\ge\, 4$. A similar result is proved for the product of the moduli stacks of semistable vector bundles. This is proved using a decomposition theorem for the product of the normal projective varieties with Picard rank one and discrete Picard group. As an application, we compute the automorphism group of the product of the moduli spaces and moduli stacks.

On the complete maximal maps and their singularities

This article investigates the global structure of maximal surfaces (space-like immersions with zero mean curvature) in Lorentz-Minkowski $3$-space $\mathbb{E}^3_1$, especially focusing on the interplay between genus, the number of singular components--loci, and simple ends. We construct complete maximal maps with arbitrarily many singular components for any genus $p\geq 0$ with simple ends.

Parabolic Lie algebroid connections on parabolic principal bundles over curves

Let $X$ be a compact connected Riemann surface and $S\,\subset\, X$ a finite subset. We consider parabolic principal $G$--bundles $\mathcal{E}_{G}$ on $X$ with parabolic structure on $S$, where $G$ is a connected complex reductive affine algebraic group. Let $P\, \subset\, G$ be a parabolic subgroup and $\mathcal{E}_{P}\, \subset\, \mathcal{E}_{G}$ a reduction of structure group of $\mathcal{E}_{G}$ to $P$. We give a criterion for the existence of a parabolic Lie algebroid connection on $\mathcal{E}_{P}$ for any given parabolic Lie algebroid on $(X,\,S)$ whose anchor map is not surjective. More precisely, $\mathcal{E}_{P}$ admits a parabolic Lie algebroid connection if the reduction $\mathcal{E}_{P}\, \subset\, \mathcal{E}_{G}$ is parabolically infinitesimally rigid. In particular, the Harder--Narasimhan reduction of $\mathcal{E}_{G}$ admits a parabolic Lie algebroid connection.

Holomorphic Higgs bundles over the Teichmüller space

We study which representations $ρ$ of the fundamental group of a compact oriented surface $X$ admit Higgs data that depend holomorphically on the Riemann surface $Σ\,=\, (X,\, J)$ via non-abelian Hodge correspondence. For representations $ρ$ into $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb C)$ we show that holomorphic dependency is equivalent to $ρ$ being unitary. For higher ranks this equivalence fails -- we show the existence of non-unitary and irreducible representations of the fundamental group into $\mathrm{SL}(n,\mathbb C)$ admitting Higgs data that are holomorphic in $Σ$, for $n$ large enough.

Infinitesimal deformations of parabolic connections and parabolic opers

We compute the infinitesimal deformations of quadruples $(X, S, E_*, D)$, where $(X, S)$ is a compact Riemann surface with $n$ marked points, $E_*$ is a parabolic vector bundle on $X$ with parabolic structure over $S$, and $D$ is a parabolic connection on $E_*$. Using it we compute the infinitesimal deformations of $(X, S, D)$, where $D$ is a parabolic SL(r, C)-oper on $(X, S)$. It is shown that the monodromy map, from the moduli space of triples $(X, S, D)$, where $D$ is a parabolic SL(r, C)-oper on $(X, S)$, to the SL(r, C)-character variety of X - S, is an immersion.

Monodromy of stratified vector bundles

We explore the interconnections between the monodromy group of stratified bundles on a smooth projective variety $X$ and the monodromy of the strongly semistable vector bundles $V$ on $X$ such that $c_1(V)$ and $c_2(V)$ are numerically trivial.

Holomorphic Jet Modules and Holomorphic Connections for Noncommutative Complex Curves

We extend Atiyah's holomorphic jet bundle formalism to holomorphic vector bundles over noncommutative algebras endowed with a bigraded differential calculus truncated at bidegree $(1,1)$; such structures are referred to as noncommutative complex curves. For a holomorphic vector bundle $(E,\,\overline{\nabla}_E)$ over such an algebra $\mathcal{A}$, we construct a canonical holomorphic structure $\overline{\nabla}_J$ on the first jet module $J_E^1\,$, making the jet sequence \[ 0\longrightarrow Ω^{1,0}(\mathcal{A})\otimes_{\mathcal A}E \longrightarrow J_E^1 \longrightarrow E \longrightarrow 0 \] exact in the holomorphic category. The assignment $(E,\,\overline\nabla_E)\,\rightsquigarrow\,(J_E^1,\,\overline\nabla_J)$ defines an endofunctor on the category of holomorphic vector bundles over $\mathcal{A}$. We define the notion of holomorphic connection in this setting and prove that a holomorphic vector bundle admits a holomorphic connection if and only if the above jet sequence splits in the holomorphic category, or equivalently, if and only if its Atiyah class vanishes. This yields a noncommutative analogue of Atiyah's classical correspondence for Riemann surfaces. Finally, we specialize to the quantum projective line $\mathbb{CP}_q^1\,$ and determine when $\overline{\nabla}_J$ defines a bimodule connection, assuming that $\overline{\nabla}_E$ does so.

On Lie's classification of nonsolvable subalgebras of vector fields on the plane

A brief proof of Lie's classification of finite dimensional subalgebras of vector fields on the complex plane that have a proper Levi decomposition is given. The proof uses basic representation theory of sl(2, C). This, combined with \cite{ABF2} and \cite{ABF3} completes the classification of finite dimensional subalgebras of vector fields on the complex plane.

On the triviality of direct image of coherent sheaves

Let $π\,:\, X \,\longrightarrow\, Y$ be a finite morphism of projective varieties defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We study the necessary and sufficient criteria for $π$ such that there exists a coherent sheaf $E$ on $X$ whose direct image $π_*E$ is a trivial vector bundle on $Y$ of positive rank. When $X$ is smooth, and $Y$ is Cohen-Macaulay, such a coherent sheaf is necessarily locally free. We show that the existence of such a coherent sheaf $E$ is guided by the properties of the branching divisor of $π$. When the covering $π\,:\, X \,\longrightarrow\, Y$ is admissible abelian Galois, we give a complete answer. As an application, it is shown that every smooth admissible abelian Galois covering of $\mathbb{P}^n$ supports an Ulrich bundle.

Nilpotent Lie algebras of vector fields in three variables

We give a complete constructive description of all finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras of smooth vector fields in three variables, including intransitive algebras. The description is organized by the rank and dimension of the center, which serves as the key invariant. Since every nonabelian solvable algebra lives in the normalizer of a nilpotent algebra, our normal forms provide the essential building blocks for the study of all solvable algebras of vector fields in three variables.

Positive Cones of the Projectivization of a parabolic vector bundle and Their Products over a Curve

We compute the positive cones of the projectivization of a parabolic vector bundle and the fiber product of two parabolic projective bundles over a smooth complex projective curve. Specifically, we determine their Néron--Severi groups and compute their nef and pseudoeffective cones. Moreover, for the projectivization of a parabolic vector bundle, we explicitly describe the generators of the higher nef and pseudoeffective cones. As an application, we obtain a necessary and sufficient criterion for the semistability of a parabolic vector bundle.

The Hexablock: a domain associated with the $μ$-synthesis in $M_2(\mathbb C)$

We introduce a domain named \textit{hexablock} in $\mathbb C^4$ and show that its origin is a special case of $μ$-synthesis in $M_2(\mathbb C)$, more precisely the $μ_E$-unit ball with respect to the linear subspace $E$ consisting of $2 \times 2$ upper triangular matrices. The hexablock is denoted by $\mathbb H$ and is defined by \[ \mathbb{H}=\left\{(a, x_1, x_2, x_3) \,\in\, \mathbb{C} \times \mathbb{E}\,\,\big\vert\,\, \sup_{z_1,\, z_2 \,\in\, \mathbb D}\left|\frac{a\sqrt{(1-|z_1|^2)(1-|z_2|^2)}}{1-x_1z_1-x_2z_2+x_3z_1z_2}\right| <1\right\}, \] where $\mathbb{E}$ is the \textit{tetrablock}, another domain in $\mathbb C^3$ associated with a different case of $μ$-synthesis, and is given by \[ \mathbb{E}=\{(x_1, x_2, x_3) \in \mathbb{C}^3 : 1-x_1z_1-x_2z_2+x_3z_1z_2 \ne 0 \ \text{for all } \, z_1, z_2 \in \overline{\mathbb D}\}. \] We show that two other objects in $\mathbb C^4$ namely, the $μ$-hexablock $\mathbb H_μ$ and the normed hexablock $\mathbb H_N$ naturally arise in the $μ_E$-unit ball and the norm unit ball of $M_2(\mathbb C)$, respectively and pave the way to reach the domain $\mathbb H$. A set of independent characterizations for the points in $\mathbb H_μ, \mathbb H_N$ and $\mathbb H$ are obtained. Geometric and function theoretic aspects of $\mathbb H$ are studied and its connections with the popular domains such as symmetrized bidisc $\mathbb G_2$, tetrablock $\mathbb E$ and pentablock $\mathbb P$ are explored.

On the projective structures given by theta

Given a compact Riemann surface $C$, the line in $H^0(J_C,\, 2Θ)$ orthogonal to the sections vanishing at $0$ produces a natural projective structure on $C$. We investigate the properties of this projective structure.

Holomorphic Lie algebroid connections over rationally connected varieties

Take a holomorphic Lie algebroid $(V,ϕ)$ over a rationally connected smooth complex projective variety $X$. We show that, under certain conditions, a vector bundle $E$ over $X$ admits a $(V,ϕ)$-connection if and only if $E$ is trivial. Moreover, we prove that under the same conditions, any $(V,ϕ)$-connection over $X$ is flat.

Non-Kähler Calabi-Yau manifolds and holomorphic geometric structures

We study holomorphic geometric structures on non-Kähler compact complex manifolds with trivial canonical line bundle. For Vaisman Calabi-Yau manifolds we prove that all holomorphic geometric structures of affine type on them are locally homogeneous. Moreover, if the geometric structure is rigid, then the Vaisman manifold must be a Kodaira manifold. The proof uses a Beauville-Bogomolov type decomposition from [Is] together with a weak form of Bochner principle for Vaisman Calabi-Yau manifolds that we prove here. Other results show that a compact complex manifold with self-dual holomorphic tangent bundle bearing a rigid holomorphic geometric structure of affine type have infinite fundamental group. We prove the same result for compact complex manifolds with trivial canonical line bundle having semistable holomorphic tangent bundle, with respect to some Gauduchon metric. We exhibit (non-Kähler) compact complex simply connected manifolds with trivial canonical line bundle that admit non-closed holomorphic one-forms.

Positivity of Higgs Vector Bundles

In \cite{BCO25}, Bruzzo, Capasso and Otero extended the notion of ampleness of vector bundles to the more general context of Higgs bundles. But the ampleness of Higgs bundles did not coincide with the ampleness of vector bundles when the Higgs field is zero. We modify the definition of ample Higgs bundles that results in removal of this discrepancy. Invoking this definition, we study various properties of Higgs ample vector bundles. In particular, we prove a Barton-Kleimann type criterion to characterize the Higgs ample vector bundles.
