Variability of Contact Process in Complex Networks

We study numerically how the structures of distinct networks influence the epidemic dynamics in contact process. We first find that the variability difference between homogeneous and heterogeneous networks is very narrow, although the heterogeneous structures can induce the lighter prevalence. Contrary to non-community networks, strong community structures can cause the secondary outbreak of prevalence and two peaks of variability appeared. Especially in the local community, the extraordinarily large variability in early stage of the outbreak makes the prediction of epidemic spreading hard. Importantly, the bridgeness plays a significant role in the predictability, meaning the further distance of the initial seed to the bridgeness, the less accurate the predictability is. Also, we investigate the effect of different disease reaction mechanisms on variability, and find that the different reaction mechanisms will result in the distinct variabilities at the end of epidemic spreading.

On Pointed Hopf Algebras with Weyl Groups of exceptional type

All -1-type pointed Hopf algebras and central quantum linear spaces with Weyl groups of exceptional type are found. It is proved that every non -1-type pointed Hopf algebra with real $G(H)$ is infinite dimensional and every central quantum linear space over finite group is finite dimensional. It is proved that except a few cases Nichols algebras of reducible Yetter-Drinfeld modules over Weyl groups of exceptional type are infinite dimensional.

The character tables of centralizers in Weyl Group of $E_8$ I

To classify the finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras with Weyl group $G$ of $E_8$, we obtain the representatives of conjugacy classes of $G$ and all character tables of centralizers of these representatives by means of software GAP. In this paper we only list character table 1-- 28.

KN and KbarN Elastic Scattering in the Quark Potential Model

The KN and KbarN low-energy elastic scattering is consistently studied in the framework of the QCD-inspired quark potential model. The model is composed of the t-channel one-gluon exchange potential, the s-channel one-gluon exchange potential and the harmonic oscillator confinement potential. By means of the resonating group method, nonlocal effective interaction potentials for the KN and KbarN systems are derived and used to calculate the KN and KbarN elastic scattering phase shifts. By considering the effect of QCD renormalization, the contribution of the color octet of the clusters (qqbar) and (qqq) and the suppression of the spin-orbital coupling, the numerical results are in fairly good agreement with the experimental data.

Validity of Quantum Adiabatic Theorem

The consistency of quantum adiabatic theorem has been doubted recently. It is shown in the present paper that the difference between the adiabatic solution and the exact solution to the Schrodinger equation with a slowly changing driving Hamiltonian is small; while the difference between their time derivatives is not small. This explains why substituting the adiabatic solution back into Schrodinger equation leads to "inconsisitency" of the adiabatic theorem. Physics is determined completely by the state vector, and not by its time drivative. Therefore the quantum adiabatic theorem is physically correct.
