Aristotle: IMO-level Automated Theorem Proving

We introduce Aristotle, an AI system that combines formal verification with informal reasoning, achieving gold-medal-equivalent performance on the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad problems. Aristotle integrates three main components: a Lean proof search system, an informal reasoning system that generates and formalizes lemmas, and a dedicated geometry solver. Our system demonstrates state-of-the-art performance with favorable scaling properties for automated theorem proving.

Contact isotopies in the coherent-constructible correspondence

The coherent-constructible correspondence is a realization of toric mirror symmetry in which the A-side is modeled by constructible sheaves on $T^n$. This paper provides a geometric realization of the mirror Picard group action in this correspondence, characterizing it in terms of quantized contact isotopies and providing a sheaf-theoretic counterpart to work of Hanlon in the Fukaya-Seidel setting. Given a toric Cartier divisor $D$, we consider a family of homogeneous Hamiltonians $H_\varepsilon$ on $T^* T^n$. Their flows act on sheaves via a family of kernels $K_\varepsilon$ on $T^n \times T^n$. The nearby cycles kernel $K_0$ corresponds heuristically to the Hamiltonian flow of the non-differentiable function $\lim_{\varepsilon \to 0} H_\varepsilon$, which is the pullback of the support function of $D$ along the cofiber projection. We show that the action of $K_0$ coincides with the convolution action of the associated twisted polytope sheaf, hence mirrors the action of $\mathcal{O}(D)$ on coherent sheaves.

Tropical Lagrangian coamoebae and free resolutions

We study the coamoebae of Lagrangian submanifolds of $(\mathbb{C}^\times)^n$, specifically how the combinatorics of their degenerations encodes the homological algebra of mirror coherent sheaves. Concretely, to a minimal free resolution $F^\bullet$ of a module $M$ over $\mathbb{C}[z_1^{\pm 1}, \dotsc, z_n^{\pm 1}]$ we associate a simplicial complex $T(F^\bullet) \subset T^n$. We call $T(F^\bullet)$ a tropical Lagrangian coamoeba. We show that the discrete information in $F^\bullet$ can often be recovered from $T(F^\bullet)$, and that more generally $M$ is mirror to a certain constructible sheaf supported on $T(F^\bullet)$. The resulting interplay between coherent sheaves on $(\mathbb{C}^\times)^n$ and simplicial complexes in $T^n$ provides a higher-dimensional generalization of the spectral theory of dimer models in $T^2$, as well as a symplectic counterpart to the theory of brane brick models.

Differential operators on the base affine space of $SL_n$ and quantized Coulomb branches

We show that the algebra $D_\hbar(SL_n/U)$ of differential operators on the base affine space of $SL_n$ is the quantized Coulomb branch of a certain 3d $\mathcal{N} = 4$ quiver gauge theory. In the semiclassical limit this proves a conjecture of Dancer-Hanany-Kirwan about the universal hyperk\"ahler implosion of $SL_n$. We also formulate and prove a generalization identifying the Hamiltonian reduction of $T^* SL_n$ with respect to an arbitrary unipotent character as a Coulomb branch. As an application of our results, we provide a new interpretation of the Gelfand-Graev symmetric group action on $D_\hbar(SL_n/U)$.

Canonical bases for Coulomb branches of 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ gauge theories

We construct and study a nonstandard t-structure on the derived category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the Braverman-Finkelberg-Nakajima space of triples $\mathcal{R}_{G,N}$, where $N$ is a representation of a reductive group $G$. Its heart $\mathcal{KP}_{G,N}$ is a finite-length, rigid, monoidal abelian category with renormalized $r$-matrices. We refer to objects of $\mathcal{KP}_{G,N}$ as Koszul-perverse coherent sheaves. Simple objects of $\mathcal{KP}_{G,N}$ define a canonical basis in the quantized $K$-theoretic Coulomb branch of the associated gauge theory. These simples possess various characteristic properties of Wilson-'t Hooft lines, and we interpret our construction as an algebro-geometric definition of the category of half-BPS line defects in a 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ gauge theory of cotangent type.

Ind-geometric stacks

We develop the theory of ind-geometric stacks, in particular their coherent and ind-coherent sheaf theory. This provides a convenient framework for working with equivariant sheaves on ind-schemes, especially in derived settings. Motivating examples include the coherent Satake category, the double affine Hecke category, and related categories in the theory of Coulomb branches.

Tamely presented morphisms and coherent pullback

We study two classes of morphisms in infinite type: tamely presented morphisms and morphisms with coherent pullback. These are generalizations of finitely presented morphisms and morphisms of finite Tor-dimension, respectively. The class of tamely presented schemes and stacks is restricted enough to retain the key features of finite-type schemes from the point of view of coherent sheaf theory, but wide enough to encompass many infinite-type examples of interest in geometric representation theory. The condition that a diagonal has coherent pullback is a natural generalization of smoothness to the tamely presented setting, and we show such objects retain many good cohomological properties of smooth varieties. Our results are motivated by the study of convolution products in the double affine Hecke category and related categories in the theory of Coulomb branches.

Kasteleyn operators from mirror symmetry

Given a consistent bipartite graph $Γ$ in $T^2$ with a complex-valued edge weighting $\mathcal{E}$ we show the following two constructions are the same. The first is to form the Kasteleyn operator of $(Γ, \mathcal{E})$ and pass to its spectral transform, a coherent sheaf supported on a spectral curve in $(\mathbb{C}^\times)^2$. The second is to form the conjugate Lagrangian $L \subset T^* T^2$ of $Γ$, equip it with a brane structure prescribed by $\mathcal{E}$, and pass to its mirror coherent sheaf. This lives on a stacky toric compactification of $(\mathbb{C}^\times)^2$ determined by the Legendrian link which lifts the zig-zag paths of $Γ$ (and to which the noncompact Lagrangian $L$ is asymptotic). We work in the setting of the coherent-constructible correspondence, a sheaf-theoretic model of toric mirror symmetry. We also show that tensoring with line bundles on the compactification is mirror to certain Legendrian autoisotopies of the asymptotic boundary of $L$.

Cluster theory of the coherent Satake category

We study the category of G(O)-equivariant perverse coherent sheaves on the affine Grassmannian of G. This coherent Satake category is not semisimple and its convolution product is not symmetric, in contrast with the usual constructible Satake category. Instead, we use the Beilinson-Drinfeld Grassmannian to construct renormalized r-matrices. These are canonical nonzero maps between convolution products which satisfy axioms weaker than those of a braiding. We also show that the coherent Satake category is rigid, and that together these results strongly constrain its convolution structure. In particular, they can be used to deduce the existence of (categorified) cluster structures. We study the case G = GL_n in detail and prove that the loop rotation equivariant coherent Satake category of GL_n is a monoidal categorification of an explicit quantum cluster algebra. More generally, we construct renormalized r-matrices in any monoidal category whose product is compatible with an auxiliary chiral category, and explain how the appearance of cluster algebras in 4d N=2 field theory may be understood from this point of view.

Cluster varieties from Legendrian knots

Many interesting spaces --- including all positroid strata and wild character varieties --- are moduli of constructible sheaves on a surface with microsupport in a Legendrian link. We show that the existence of cluster structures on these spaces may be deduced in a uniform, systematic fashion by constructing and taking the sheaf quantizations of a set of exact Lagrangian fillings in correspondence with isotopy representatives whose front projections have crossings with alternating orientations. It follows in turn that results in cluster algebra may be used to construct and distinguish exact Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian links in the standard contact three space.

Affine cluster monomials are generalized minors

We study the realization of acyclic cluster algebras as coordinate rings of Coxeter double Bruhat cells in Kac-Moody groups. We prove that all cluster monomials with g-vector lying in the doubled Cambrian fan are restrictions of principal generalized minors. As a corollary, cluster algebras of finite and affine type admit a complete and non-recursive description via (ind-)algebraic group representations, in a way similar in spirit to the Caldero-Chapoton description via quiver representations. In type A_1^{(1)}, we further show that elements of several canonical bases (generic, triangular, and theta) which complete the partial basis of cluster monomials are composed entirely of restrictions of minors. The discrepancy among these bases is accounted for by continuous parameters appearing in the classification of irreducible level-zero representations of affine Lie groups. We discuss how our results illuminate certain parallels between the classification of representations of finite-dimensional algebras and of integrable weight representations of Kac-Moody algebras.

On Generalized Minors and Quiver Representations

The cluster algebra of any acyclic quiver can be realized as the coordinate ring of a subvariety of a Kac-Moody group -- the quiver is an orientation of its Dynkin diagram, defining a Coxeter element and thereby a double Bruhat cell. We use this realization to connect representations of the quiver with those of the group. We show that cluster variables of preprojective (resp. postinjective) quiver representations are realized by generalized minors of highest-weight (resp. lowest-weight) group representations, generalizing results of Yang-Zelevinsky in finite type. In type $A_n^{\!(1)}$ and finitely many other affine types, we show that cluster variables of regular quiver representations are realized by generalized minors of group representations that are neither highest- nor lowest-weight; we conjecture this holds more generally.

On the combinatorics of exact Lagrangian surfaces

We study Weinstein 4-manifolds which admit Lagrangian skeleta given by attaching disks to a surface along a collection of simple closed curves. In terms of the curves describing one such skeleton, we describe surgeries that preserve the ambient Weinstein manifold, but change the skeleton. The surgeries can be iterated to produce more such skeleta --- in many cases, infinitely many more. Each skeleton is built around a Lagrangian surface. Passing to the Fukaya category, the skeletal surgeries induce cluster transformations on the spaces of rank one local systems on these surfaces, and noncommutative analogues of cluster transformations on the spaces of higher rank local systems. In particular, the problem of producing and distinguishing such Lagrangians maps to a combination of combinatorial-geometric questions about curve configurations on surfaces and algebraic questions about exchange graphs of cluster algebras. Conversely, this expands the dictionary relating the cluster theory of character varieties, positroid strata, and related spaces to the symplectic geometry of Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian knots, by incorporating cluster charts more general than those associated to bicolored surface graphs.

Toda Systems, Cluster Characters, and Spectral Networks

We show that the Hamiltonians of the open relativistic Toda system are elements of the generic basis of a cluster algebra, and in particular are cluster characters of nonrigid representations of a quiver with potential. Using cluster coordinates defined via spectral networks, we identify the phase space of this system with the wild character variety related to the periodic nonrelativistic Toda system by the wild nonabelian Hodge correspondence. We show that this identification takes the relativistic Toda Hamiltonians to traces of holonomies around a simple closed curve. In particular, this provides nontrivial examples of cluster coordinates on $SL_n$-character varieties for $n > 2$ where canonical functions associated to simple closed curves can be computed in terms of quivers with potential, extending known results in the $SL_2$ case.

The greedy basis equals the theta basis

We prove the equality of two canonical bases of a rank 2 cluster algebra, the greedy basis of Lee-Li-Zelevinsky and the theta basis of Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich.

Q-Systems, Factorization Dynamics, and the Twist Automorphism

We provide a concrete realization of the cluster algebras associated with Q-systems as amalgamations of cluster structures on double Bruhat cells in simple algebraic groups. For nonsimply-laced groups, this provides a cluster-algebraic formulation of Q-systems of twisted type. It also yields a uniform proof of the discrete integrability of these Q-systems by identifying them with the dynamics of factorization mappings on quotients of double Bruhat cells. On the double Bruhat cell itself, we find these dynamics are closely related to those of the Fomin-Zelevinsky twist map. This leads to an explicit formula expressing twisted cluster variables as Laurent monomials in the untwisted cluster variables obtained from the corresponding mutation sequence. This holds for Coxeter double Bruhat cells in any symmetrizable Kac-Moody group, and we show that in affine type the analogous factorization mapping is also integrable.

Cluster Ensembles and Kac-Moody Groups

We study the relationship between two sets of coordinates on a double Bruhat cell, the cluster variables introduced by Berenstein, Fomin, and Zelevinsky and the $\CX$-coordinates defined by the coweight parametrization of Fock and Goncharov. In these coordinates, we show that the generalized Chamber Ansatz of Fomin and Zelevinsky is a nondegenerate version of the canonical monomial transformation between the cluster variables and $\CX$-coordinates defined by a common exchange matrix. We prove this in the setting of an arbitrary symmetrizable Kac-Moody group, generalizing along the way many previous results on the double Bruhat cells of a semisimple algebraic group. In particular, we construct an upper cluster algebra structure on the coordinate ring of any double Bruhat cell in a symmetrizable Kac-Moody group, proving a conjecture of Berenstein, Fomin, and Zelevinsky.

Double Bruhat Cells in Kac-Moody Groups and Integrable Systems

We construct a family of integrable Hamiltonian systems generalizing the relativistic periodic Toda lattice, which is recovered as a special case. The phase spaces of these systems are double Bruhat cells corresponding to pairs of Coxeter elements in the affine Weyl group. In the process we extend various results on double Bruhat cells in simple algebraic groups to the setting of Kac-Moody groups. We also generalize some fundamental results in Poisson-Lie theory to the setting of ind-algebraic groups, which is of interest beyond our immediate applications to integrable systems.
