Boundary asymptotics for two-dimensional vectorial Allen-Cahn systems

We study asymptotic properties of critical points of the two-dimensional vectorial Allen-Cahn energy with finitely many non-degenerate wells, subject to a homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. For any sequence with uniformly bounded energy, we prove that the limiting full and potential measures are supported on a closed countably 1-rectifiable set up to the boundary and satisfy the discrepancy relations. The potential measure defines a free-boundary stationary rectifiable varifold. Boundary mass may occur: weights are constant on regular boundary arcs, finite-type junctions obey projected balance, and the sole non-boundary branch meets the boundary orthogonally. This provides a Neumann-boundary extension of Bethuel's planar interior theory. The key idea is to read the boundary geometry from the limiting stress-energy tensor, which identifies the potential-energy measure as the stationary interfacial measure even in the presence of boundary concentration.

Boundary regularity for Oseen-Frank minimizers with arbitrary positive splay, twist, and bend constants

Let $\Omega\subset\mathbb R^3$ be a smooth bounded domain and let $g:\partial\Omega\to\mathbb S^2$ be smooth. We prove that any global minimizer of the Oseen--Frank energy subject to the strong anchoring condition $n=g$ is smooth in a full neighborhood of $\partial\Omega$. The result holds for arbitrary positive splay, twist, and bend constants, without any small-anisotropy assumption. It resolves the boundary-regularity part of Lin and Liu's Problem~(c) for the pure Oseen--Frank problem and for its prescribed smooth magnetic-field perturbation.

Smooth Convergence of Landau-de Gennes Minimizers in the Lyuksyutov Regime

In this paper, we analyze global minimizers of the Landau--de Gennes functional in 3-dimensional domains in the Lyuksyutov regime. We prove smooth convergence to an $\mathbb{S}^4$-valued limit and obtain an $O(\mu^{-1})$ estimate for the distance to $\mathbb{S}^4$ as $\mu \to +\infty$, thereby extending the convergence results of Dipasquale et al.[Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 239: 599--678, 2021].

On the absence of point defects in biaxial Landau--de Gennes models

We study local minimizers of a sextic-potential Landau--de Gennes energy for nematic liquid crystals in the small-elastic-constant limit. Under the uniform energy and $L^\infty$ bounds, these minimizers converge to a locally energy-minimizing harmonic map $\mathbf{Q}_0$ into a biaxial vacuum manifold. The main result of this paper is that such a limiting map $\mathbf{Q}_0$ has no interior point singularities. The proof relies on a geometric identification of the lifted Frobenius metric on the universal cover $\mathbb{S}^3$ with a rescaled Berger metric. For a hypothetical tangent cone at a point singularity, its link is a nonconstant harmonic two-sphere into the Berger sphere. We construct a smooth variation field adapted to the Hopf direction and show that it induces a quantitative instability estimate, in contradiction with the shifted stability inequality inherited from local minimality. This replaces the usual round-sphere test fields by a target-specific construction and rules out interior point defects in the biaxial setting. The result is sharp in view of the well-known existence of point defects in the uniaxial theory.

Singular Limits for Three-Dimensional Global Minimizers of Ginzburg--Landau-Type Functionals: Uniform Estimates and Singular Sets

We study the asymptotic behavior of global minimizers of a Ginzburg--Landau-type functional with general compact vacuum manifold $\mathcal{N}$ on bounded domains in $\mathbb{R}^3$, in the regime where the energy grows at a logarithmic rate. We show that the normalized energy measures converge, up to a subsequence, to a measure supported on a finite union of closed line segments connecting prescribed singularities on the boundary. The limit map is a harmonic map valued locally by minimizing $\mathcal{N}$ away from this singular set. We also establish uniform $W^{1,q}$-estimates with $ q\in(1,2) $ and uniform potential estimates for minimizers, independent of the parameter $\varepsilon$. Finally, we prove that the singular set of the limiting measure solves the homotopical Plateau problem in codimension $2$.

Asymptotics of Minimizers for Ginzburg--Landau-type Functionals in High Dimensions

We investigate local minimizers of Ginzburg--Landau-type functionals in dimension $n\geq 3$ that satisfy logarithmic energy bounds, assuming the potential has a vacuum manifold with a finite fundamental group. We show that the normalized energy measures converge to an $(n-2)$-rectifiable measure associated with a stationary varifold, with quantized density determined by the homotopy classes of the vacuum manifold. Away from the support of the $(n-2)$-rectifiable measure, the minimizers converge strongly in $H^1_{\text{loc}}$ to a minimizing harmonic map, which is smooth outside an $(n-3)$-rectifiable singular set.

Uniform estimates of Landau-de Gennes minimizers in the vanishing elasticity limit with line defects

For the Landau-de Gennes functional modeling nematic liquid crystals in dimension three, we prove that, if the energy is bounded by $C(\log\frac{1}{\varepsilon}+1)$, then the sequence of minimizers $\{\mathbf{Q}_{\varepsilon}\}_{\varepsilon\in (0,1)}$ is relatively compact in $W_{\operatorname{loc}}^{1,p}$ for every $1<p<2$. This extends the classical compactness theorem of Bourgain-Br\'{e}zis-Mironescu [Publ. Math., IH\'{E}S, 99:1-115, 2004] for complex Ginzburg-Landau minimizers to the $\mathbb R\mathbf P^2$-valued Landau-de Gennes setting. Moreover, We obtain local bounds on the integral of the bulk energy potential that are uniform in $ \varepsilon $, improving the estimate that follows directly from the assumption.

Stratification and rectifiability of harmonic map flows via tangent measures

In this paper, we investigate the stratification theory for ``suitable solutions" of harmonic map flows based on the spatial symmetry of tangent measures. Building on the quantitative stratifications and Reifenberg-rectifiable theory developed by Naber and Valtorta in breakthrough research of harmonic maps (\emph{Ann. Math.} 185 (2017), 131-227), we prove that each time slice of the singular set in our model is rectifiable. By making some additional assumptions about the target manifolds to exclude specific tangent flows and measures, we can also obtain a sharp regularity of suitable solutions for harmonic map flows.

Quantitative stratification and sharp regularity estimates for supercritical semilinear elliptic equations

In this paper, we investigate the interior regularity theory for stationary solutions of the supercritical nonlinear elliptic equation $$ -\Delta u=|u|^{p-1}u\quad\text{in }\Omega,\quad p>\frac{n+2}{n-2}, $$ where $ \Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n $ is a bounded domain with $ n\geq 3 $. Our primary focus is on the structure of stratification for the singular sets. We define the $ k $-th stratification $ S^k(u) $ of $ u $ based on the tangent functions and measures. We show that the Hausdorff dimension of $ S^k(u) $ is at most $ k $ and $ S^k(u) $ is $ k $-rectifiable, and establish estimates for volumes associated with points that have lower bounds on the regular scales. These estimates enable us to derive sharp interior estimates for the solutions. Specifically, if $ \alpha_p=\frac{2(p+1)}{p-1} $ is not an integer, then for any $ j\in\mathbb{Z}_{\geq 0} $, we have $$ D^ju\in L_{\operatorname{loc}}^{q_j,\infty}(\Omega), $$ which implies that for any $ \Omega'\subset\subset\Omega $, $$ \sup\{\lambda>0:\lambda^{q_j}\mathcal{L}^n(\{x\in\Omega':|D^ju(x)|>\lambda\})\}<+\infty, $$ where $ \mathcal{L}^n(\cdot) $ is the $ n $-dimensional Lebesgue measure, and $$ q_j=\frac{(p-1)(\lfloor\alpha_p\rfloor+1)}{2+j(p-1)}, $$ with $ \lfloor\alpha_p\rfloor $ being the integer part of $ \alpha_p $. The proofs of these results rely on Reifenberg-type theorems developed by A. Naber and D. Valtorta to study the stratification of harmonic maps.
