Embedding Quantum Simulators for Quantum Computation of Entanglement

We introduce the concept of embedding quantum simulators, a paradigm allowing the efficient quantum computation of a class of bipartite and multipartite entanglement monotones. It consists in the suitable encoding of a simulated quantum dynamics in the enlarged Hilbert space of an embedding quantum simulator. In this manner, entanglement monotones are conveniently mapped onto physical observables, overcoming the necessity of full tomography and reducing drastically the experimental requirements. Furthermore, this method is directly applicable to pure states and, assisted by classical algorithms, to the mixed-state case. Finally, we expect that the proposed embedding framework paves the way for a general theory of enhanced one-to-one quantum simulators.

A new determination of the electromagnetic nucleon form factors from QCD Sum Rules

We obtain the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon, in the space-like region, using three-point function Finite Energy QCD Sum Rules. The QCD calculation is performed to leading order in perturbation theory in the chiral limit, and also to leading order in the non-perturbative power corrections. For the Dirac form factor, $F_1(q^2)$, we get a very good agreement with the data for both the proton and the neutron, in the currently accessible experimental region of momentum transfers. Unfortunately this is not the case, though, for the Pauli form factor $F_2(q^2)$, which has a soft $q^2$-dependence proportional to the quark condensate $<0|\bar{q}q|0>$.

About the Dirac Equation with a $δ$ potential

An elementary treatment of the Dirac Equation in the presence of a three-dimensional spherically symmetric $δ(r-r_0)$-potential is presented. We show how to handle the matching conditions in the configuration space, and discuss the occurrence of supercritical effects.
