Scalar superradiance in the charged black-bounce spacetimes

We numerically investigate the superradiant amplification effect of a charged scalar filed in the scattering experiment and the black hole bomb model in a charged black-bounce spacetime. Due to the shallowing effect on the effective potential by the introduced quantum parameter $\l$, superradiance in both the above cases are verified to be weakened. In a scattering experiment, the quantum parameter and the field mass suppress the amplification in all frequency ranges, while the black hole and field charge influence it differently in high and low frequencies. In a Type I black hole bomb model, where the reflective mirror is placed outside the ergo-region, we find a new distinct eigen-mode for the scalar field evolution in a high $\l$ value, which is however absent in the case of Type II black bomb where the mirror is set inside the ergo-region. Moreover, we investigate the heavy field mass scenario in a Type II black hole bomb and find no amplification effect in this confined configuration.

Superradiant growth anomaly magnification in evolution of vector bosonic condensates bounded by a Kerr black hole with near-horizon reflection

Ultralight vector particles can form evolving condensates around a Kerr black hole (BH) due to superradiant instability. We study the effect of near-horizon reflection on the evolution of this system: by matching three pieces of asymptotic expansions of the Proca equation in Kerr metric and considering the leading order in the electric mode, we present explicit analytical expressions for the corrected spectrum and the superradiant instability rates. Particularly, in high-spin BH cases, we identify an anomalous situation where the superadiance rate is temporarily increased by the reflection parameter $\mathcal{R}$, which also occurs in the scalar scenario, but is largely magnified in vector condensates due to a faster growth rate in dominant mode. We point out the condition for the growth anomaly in the adiabatic case is that information carried per particle exceeds a certain value $\delta I/\delta N>2\pi k_\text{B} \sqrt{(1+\mathcal{R})/(1-\mathcal{R})}$. We further construct several featured quantities to illustrate it, and formalize the anomaly-induced gravitational wave strain deformation.

Graviton-Photon Conversion in Atoms and the Detection of Gravitons

We study graviton-photon conversion in potential ground-based experiments. From graviton to photon transition, we calculate the cross section of graviton-atom interaction in the presence of spherical atomic electric fields; the obtained results hold for graviton energy around 100 keV to 1 GeV, and would be enhanced along the coherent length in extremely high frequencies; thus it gives a chance to catch MeV level gravitons from the universe with current neutrino facilities. From photon to graviton transition, we propose an experiment using entangled photon pairs to count missing photons passing through transverse magnetic tunnel, which could be used to verify the energy quantization of gravitational field.

Adiabatic accretion onto black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar theory

We study the adiabatic accretion process of ordinary baryonic gas onto spherically symmetric black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar theory, with two parameters $\alpha$ and $\beta$ in the coupling term. Especially, we demonstrate the range of the transonic points in terms of the charge-to-mass ratio squared and the dimensionless coordinate radius, in two important classes of black holes as examples. Further, we find that the two coupling parameters give modifications to the mass accretion rate at different orders of the sound speed at infinity. We also present their different effects on the temperature ratios of the accreted gas.

Chiral Magnetic Effect in Isobar Collisions from Stochastic Hydrodynamics

We study chiral magnetic effect in collisions of AuAu, RuRu and ZrZr at s = 200GeV. The axial charge evolution is modeled with stochastic hydrodynamics and geometrical quantities are calculated with Monte Carlo Glauber model. By adjusting the relaxation time of magnetic field, we find our results in good agreement with background subtracted data for AuAu collisions at the same energy. We also make prediction for RuRu and ZrZr collisions. We find a weak centrality dependence of initial chiral imbalance, which implies the centrality dependence of chiral magnetic effect signal comes mainly from those of magnetic field and volume factor. Our results also show an unexpected dependence on system size: while the system of AuAu has larger chiral imbalance and magnetic field, it turns out to have smaller signal for chiral magnetic effect due to the larger volume suppression factor.

Axial Charge Fluctuation and Chiral Magnetic Effect from Stochastic Hydrodynamics

The amount of axial charge produced in heavy ion collisions is one of the key quantities in understanding chiral magnetic effect. Current phenomenological studies assume large axial charge chemical potential $\mu_5$ produced in Glasma phase and assume the conservation of axial charge throughout the evolution, which is valid in the long relaxation time limit. Based on the solution of stochastic hydrodynamics with phenomenological parameters, our study suggests that the situation of heavy ion collisions may be close to the opposite limit, in which axial charge fluctuation approaches thermodynamic limit. Using $\mu_5$ set by the thermodynamic limit for chiral magnetic effect and a background from parity-even $v_1$, we obtain a reasonable description of the centrality dependence of charged particle correlation measured in experiment.
