The gravity side of the $p$-adic AdS$_2$/CFT$_1$

By means of a higher-dimensional embedding approach, together with the study of distance, measure, and curvature, we construct a gravitational theory on the two-dimensional space over $p$-adic numbers. Before constructing this gravitational theory, we provide supplementary calculations based on existing literature and justify the validity of the gravitational theory by comparison with the real-number case, for instance, the curvatures of de Sitter(dS), anti-de Sitter(AdS), and Euclidean space should be positive, negative, and zero, respectively. Finally, as an example on the gravity side of the $p$-adic AdS$_2$/CFT$_1$, we present the action for a scalar field coupled to gravity.

Effective field theories on subspaces of the Bruhat-Tits tree

On two subspaces of the Bruhat-Tits tree, effective actions are calculated. The limits of these effective field theories are found to be the same conformal field theory over p-adic numbers when subspaces are taken to the boundary of the tree. Their relations to the p-adic version of AdS/CFT are also discussed.

Euclidean (A)dS spaces over $p$-adic numbers

With the help of Wick rotation over $p$-adic numbers $\mathbb{Q}_p$, the $p$-adic version of Euclidean $\textrm{dS}_2$ space(noted as $p\textrm{dS}_2$) is obtained based on $p\textrm{AdS}_2$($p$-adic version of Euclidean $\textrm{AdS}_2$ space), the latter of which is already known. The corresponding embedding equations are also found. The distances $D(X,Y)$'s on $p\textrm{(A)dS}_1$ and $p\textrm{AdS}_2$ have intuitive explanations. On the graph representations of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ and $\mathbb{Q}_{p^2}$, namely Bruhat-Tits trees $\textrm{T}_{p}$ and $\textrm{T}_{p^2}$, $D(X,Y)$ is found to be the inverse of distance between a particular subgraph and the line connecting $X$ and $Y$.

Effective field theory on a finite boundary of the Bruhat-Tits tree

Based on bulk reconstruction from the finite boundary of the Bruhat-Tits tree, the boundary effective theory is obtained after integrating out fields outside this boundary. According to the $~p$-adic version of Anti-de Sitter/Conformal Field Theory duality, two-point functions of dual theory living on the finite boundary are read out from the effective action. They can be regarded as two-point functions of a deformed conformal field theory over $~p$-adic numbers.

The boundary theory of a spinor field theory on the Bruhat-Tits tree

For a spinor field theory on the Bruhat-Tits tree, we calculate the action and the partition function of its boundary theory by integrating out the interior of the Bruhat-Tits tree. We found that the boundary theory is very similar to a scalar field theory over p-adic numbers.

Scalar fields on $p$AdS

We obtain a subgroup of the isometry group of $p$AdS (a $p$-adic version of AdS alternative to the Bruhat-Tits tree). We propose a candidate for the scalar bulk action and equation of motion on $p$AdS, and work out analytical expressions of the Green's functions for a particular choice of parameter together with an ansatz for general cases. The limiting behaviors of the Green's function are also studied. With their help, the convergence of small loops (whose radii are smaller than AdS length scale of $p$AdS) is analyzed.

Schwinger pairs production in a soft-wall model

The Schwinger pairs production rate is calculated numerically in the soft-wall model with the help of a simpler method in determining the soft-wall's position beyond which probe strings connecting the Schwinger pairs do not fall into. Behaviours of the production rate in both the upper critical region and the middle linear part are studied carefully. The latter exhibits interesting new features un-noted previously. All results are presented in comparisons with hard-wall models.
