A generating functional for infrared-safe QED amplitudes

We construct a generating functional for infrared-finite scattering amplitudes in massive quantum electrodynamics (QED) by including Faddeev-Kulish dressings in a holomorphic coherent-state representation, in the spirit of the construction of Aref'eva-Faddeev-Slavnov (AFS) for the undressed Dyson S-matrix. At tree level, the dressed generating functional reduces to an AFS path integral with dressed boundary conditions.

A large scale multi-modal workflow for battery characterization: from concept to implementation

The development of material acceleration platforms in battery research requires integrating complementary techniques and correlating heterogeneous experimental datasets. Here, this challenge is tackled in a large-scale multimodal program involving fifteen laboratories and facilities across Europe. Coordinated multi-site experiments are performed on state-of-the-art graphite / LiNiO2 Li-ion full cells to address two archetypal scientific questions: is the electrolyte composition impacting electrode properties, and how do electrode materials evolve when cells are cycled to their end-of-life? A fully standardized and centralized workflow is demonstrated, from sample production and delivery, to metadata and data handling, generating seventy-five concatenated datasets shared among all partners. Their integrated analysis shows that scientific conclusions depend critically on both the observable chosen to describe electrode properties, and the measurement technique employed. Individual experiments provide detailed information into specific aspects, such as crystal structures, redox activity, surface processes, morphology, etc., but can also function as binary diagnostic tool. Two-dimensional observable-technique patterns are introduced, in which each pixel encodes a yes, no or uncertain answer to a given scientific question. These patterns serve as multi-property metaviews, e.g. visual genotypes, enabling to classify material behavior and technique suitability according to predefined user demand and criteria, highlighting the interdependencies between measurement choices, extracted parameters and scientific interpretation. This multimodal workflow establishes a proof-of-concept for correlative analysis and underscores challenges toward fully integrated, automated and holistic approaches in energy material science.

Flat Holography & Holographic Renormalization: Scalar Field

We adapt the Hamilton-Jacobi method of holographic renormalization to scalar field theories in Minkowski spacetime with scattering boundary conditions. The approach yields a flat-space holographic dictionary in which the expectation value of a dual operator is given by the renormalized canonical momentum. The source of the operator is imposed as a Dirichlet condition in a radial timelike foliation of the bulk theory and corresponds to the scattering data appearing in the Arefeva-Faddeev-Slavnov generating functional. We initiate a study of massive scalars and interacting fields within this formalism and we comment on extensions to different bulk theories and backgrounds.

Entanglement R\'{e}nyi entropies in celestial holography

Celestial holography is the conjecture that scattering amplitudes in $(d+2)$-dimensional asymptotically Minkowski spacetimes are dual to correlators of a $d$-dimensional conformal field theory (CFT) on the celestial sphere, called the celestial CFT (CCFT). In a CFT, we can calculate sub-region entanglement R\'{e}nyi entropies (EREs), including entanglement entropy (EE), from correlators of twist operators, via the replica trick. We argue that CCFT twist operators are holographically dual to cosmic branes in the $(d+2)$-dimensional spacetime, and that their correlators are holographically dual to the $(d+2)$-dimensional partition function (the vacuum-to-vacuum scattering amplitude) in the presence of these cosmic branes. We hence compute the EREs of a spherical sub-region of the CCFT's conformal vacuum, finding the form dictated by conformal symmetry, including a universal contribution determined by the CCFT's sphere partition function (odd $d$) or Weyl anomaly (even $d$). We find that this universal contribution vanishes when $d=4$ mod $4$, and otherwise is proportional to $i$ times the $d^{\textrm{th}}$ power of the $(d+2)$-dimensional long-distance cutoff in Planck units.

Phase Space Renormalization and Finite BMS Charges in Six Dimensions

We perform a complete and systematic analysis of the solution space of six-dimensional Einstein gravity. We show that a particular subclass of solutions -- those that are analytic near $\mathcal{I}^+$ -- admit a non-trivial action of the generalised Bondi-Metzner-van der Burg-Sachs (GBMS) group which contains \emph{infinite-dimensional} supertranslations and superrotations. The latter consists of all smooth volume-preserving Diff$\times$Weyl transformations of the celestial $S^4$. Using the covariant phase space formalism and a new technique which we develop in this paper (phase space renormalization), we are able to renormalize the symplectic potential using counterterms which are \emph{local} and \emph{covariant}. The Hamiltonian charges corresponding to GBMS diffeomorphisms are non-integrable. We show that the integrable part of these charges faithfully represent the GBMS algebra and in doing so, settle a long-standing open question regarding the existence of infinite-dimensional asymptotic symmetries in higher even dimensional non-linear gravity. Finally, we show that the semi-classical Ward identities for supertranslations and superrotations are precisely the leading and subleading soft-graviton theorems respectively.

Charge and Antipodal Matching across Spatial Infinity

We derive the antipodal matching relations used to demonstrate the equivalence between soft graviton theorems and BMS charge conservation across spatial infinity. To this end we provide a precise map between Bondi data at null infinity $\mathscr{I}$ and Beig-Schmidt data at spatial infinity $i^0$ in a context appropriate to the gravitational scattering problem and celestial holography. In addition, we explicitly match the various proposals of BMS charges at $\mathscr{I}$ found in the literature with the conserved charges at $i^0$.

General null asymptotics and superrotation-compatible configuration spaces in $d\ge4$

We address the problem of consistent Campiglia-Laddha superrotations in $d>4$ by solving Bondi-Sachs gauge vacuum Einstein equations at the non-linear level with the most general boundary conditions preserving the null nature of infinity. We discuss how to generalise the boundary structure to make the configuration space compatible with supertanslation-like and superrotation-like transformations. One possibility requires that the time-independent boundary metric on the cuts of $\mathscr{I}$ is not fixed to be Einstein, while the other sticks to Einstein but time-dependent metrics. Both are novel features with respect to the four-dimensional case, where time-dependence of the two-dimensional cross-sectional metric is not required and the Einstein condition is trivially satisfied. Other cases are also discussed. These conditions imply that the configuration spaces are not asymptotically flat in the standard sense. We discuss the implications on the construction of the phase space and the relationship with soft scattering theorems. We show that in even spacetime dimensions, the initial data compatible with such asymptotic symmetries produce maximally polyhomogeneous expansions of the metric and we advance a potential interpretation of this structure in terms of AdS/CFT and realizations of Ricci-flat holography.

Cosmic branes and asymptotic structure

Superrotations of asymptotically flat spacetimes in four dimensions can be interpreted in terms of including cosmic strings within the phase space of allowed solutions. In this paper we explore the implications of the inclusion of cosmic branes on the asymptotic structure of vacuum spacetimes in dimension d > 4. We first show that only cosmic (d-3)-branes are Riemann flat in the neighbourhood of the brane, and therefore only branes of such dimension passing through the celestial sphere can respect asymptotic local flatness. We derive the asymptotically locally flat boundary conditions associated with including cosmic branes in the phase space of solutions. We find the asymptotic expansion of vacuum spacetimes in d=5 with such boundary conditions; the expansion is polyhomogenous, with logarithmic terms arising at subleading orders in the expansion. The asymptotically locally flat boundary conditions identified here are associated with an extended asymptotic symmetry group, which may be relevant to soft scattering theorems and memory effects.
