The Fourier-Jacobi expansion of the singular theta lift

Recently, Funke and Hofmann constructed a singular theta lift of Borcherds type for the dual reductive pair $U(1,1)\times U(p,q)$, $p,q\geq 1$, the input functions of which are harmonic weak Maass forms of weight $k= 2-p-q$. In the present paper, we give an explicit evaluation of the Fourier-Jacobi expansion of the lift. For this purpose, we adapt a method introduced by Kudla in his paper 'Another product for a Borcherds form'. As an application, in the case $U(p,1)$ we recover a new infinite product expansion associated to a Borcherds form, analogous to the case $O(p,2)$ treated by Kudla.

The construction of Green currents and singular theta lifts for unitary groups

With applications in the Kudla program in mind we employ singular theta lifts for the reductive dual pair $U(p,q)\times U(1,1)$ to construct two different kinds of Green forms for codimension $q$-cycles in Shimura varieties associated to unitary groups. We establish an adjointness result between our singular theta lift and the Kudla-Millson lift. Further, we compare the two Greens forms and obtain modularity for the generating function of the difference of the two Green forms. Finally, we show that the Green forms obtained by the singular theta lift satisfy an eigenvalue equation for the Laplace operator and conclude that our Green forms coincide with the ones constructed by Oda and Tsuzuki by different means.

Local Borcherds Products for Unitary Groups

For a discrete subgroup of an indefinite unitary group $U(1,n+1)$, $n\geq 1$, consider the attached modular variety. Using local Borcherds products, we study Heegner divisors in the local Picard group over a boundary component the compactified variety. We obtain a criterion for local Heegner divisors to be torsion elements in the local Picard group. As an application, we find that the obstructions for a local Heegner divisor to be a torsion element can be described through spaces of vector valued elliptic cusp forms spanned by certain theta-series.

On Products of Fourier Coefficients of Cusp Forms

The purpose of this paper is to study products of Fourier coefficients of an elliptic cusp form, $a(n)a(n + r)$ $(n \geq 1)$ for a fixed positive integer $r$, concerning both non-vanishing and non-negativity.

Borcherds Products for U(1,1)

The Borcherds lift for indefinite unitary groups, previously constructed by the author, is examined here in greater detail for the special case of the group U(1,1). The inputs for the lifting in this case are weakly holomorphic modular forms of weight zero, which are lifted to meromorphic modular forms on the usual complex upper half plane transforming under an arithmetic subgroup of U(1,1). In this setting, we can completely describe the Weyl-chambers involved and explicitly calculate the attached Weyl-vectors, for a family of input functions with principle part $q^{-n}$. Since these are a basis for the input space, we obtain similarly explicit results for arbitrary input functions. The Heegner divisors in this case consist of CM-points, the CM-order of which is also determined.

Borcherds Products on Unitary Groups

We provide a construction of the multiplicative Borcherds lift for unitary groups U(1,m), which takes weakly holomorphic elliptic modular forms and lifts them to meromorphic automorphic forms having infinite product expansions and taking their zeros and poles along Heegner divisors. The result is obtained through the transfer of Borcherds' theory to unitary groups via a suitable embedding of U(1,m) into O(2,2m). Further, we examine the values taken by the Borcherds products around the cusps of the symmetric domain of the unitary group. Finally, as an application of the lifting, we derive a modularity result for generating series with Heegner divisors as coefficients, along the lines of Borcherds' generalization of the Gross-Zagier-Kohnen theorem.
