Lorentzian entropy, subgaussian matrix concentration, and sharp functional inequalities for all matroids

We prove complete entropy contraction for homogeneous Lorentzian laws and derive subgaussian matrix concentration and sharp functional inequalities for every matroid. Uniform retention of $\ell$ out of $r$ particles contracts matrix entropy by the optimal universal factor $\ell/r$, in every finite matrix dimension and positive field, including repeated labels. The matrix Laplace comparison retains matrix variance and arbitrary Hermitian offsets. It gives subgaussian bounds for arbitrary Hermitian observables with bounded exchange differences, and Chernoff and Bernstein bounds for basis sums. Every unit-edge matroid basis graph satisfies the cube's small-set and Gross inequalities, with equality classified and optimal universal complete entropy-decay rate four. Its spectrum lies in $\{0,2\}\cup[3,\infty)$, with binary direct-factor contrasts spanning the eigenspace at two. We classify extremal down-up eigenfunctions, resolving Alaniz Pintos's degree-one conjecture and the equality problem for the Feder--Mihail walk. For degree at least two, every matrix entropy extremizer extends uniquely from its two-particle marginal. Equality depends only on the normalized pair law, with noncommutativity confined to mutually exclusive labels. We classify power-entropy extremizers for $1<p<2$ and give a fourth-order criterion for affine equality. Retained-level Gibbs reconstruction has sharp dimension-independent stability. For multiaffine laws whose generating polynomial and complement are Lorentzian, we determine the exact simultaneous all-field quantum marginal and matrix Hölder regions and classify the sharp half-marginal fields. Connected sharp laws are determinantal through rank three; stable nondeterminantal examples exist in every higher rank.

Multivariate diagonal harmonics: character polynomials and proofs of two conjectures of Bergeron

We prove Bergeron's Hook-Components and Coefficient-Length conjectures for the Vandermonde polarization module and full diagonal harmonics in every rank and number of alphabets. Hook-label characters are elementary skewings of the alternating character, and the maximal Schur length in label $μ$ is $n-μ_1$. We compute character and dimension polynomials of diagonal coinvariants in every bosonic--fermionic superspace for $D\ge3$, $n\ge\max\{D,2D-6\}$, answering Church--Ellenberg--Farb's character and dimension questions. For augmented commutative algebras in characteristic zero, we construct natural two-Schur presentations and filtered free resolutions with one Schur generator in each homological degree. For polynomial algebras, specialization to orthogonal idempotents identifies the first unstable correction for every nonempty tail $τ$ and degree $D>|τ|$. The stable threshold $n\ge D+τ_1$ is sharp when the row dimension is at least $\ell(τ)$. First parabolic algebras recover finite jets, their multiplication and their maps. Selected-label lifts give uniform Vandermonde generation through degree $D$ for $D\ge3$, $n\ge2D-3$, and disjoint-label products generate every first occurrence for positive integral row weights. Constructive degree reflection determines all two-column moment homology and generates its first syzygies from degree $n+1$; two-column Vandermonde generation reduces to degree $n-1$. Invariants and harmonics separate through the character range and through degree $n$ in two alphabets. The hook identities also give the fully graded sign component of the $t=0$, $(1,2)$-superspace Theta conjecture.

Vector balancing in convex order

We construct Komlós signing laws with discrepancy below $6.84$, independent Gaussian reference blocks and exponentially many balanced signings. One law preserves hard constraints and exact conditional means while its reference controls every joint convex cost. We resolve both Reis--Rothvoss Schatten conjectures. For $n$ symmetric $n\times n$ matrices, one prescribed-mean signing law bounds all centered Schatten discrepancies with sharp powers of $n$ and a universal constant. One Gaussian event of measure $e^{-O(n)}$ controls every unitarily invariant norm at the square-function radius. We prove Reis's volume-ratio conjecture: every $r$-dimensional quotient of the $a\times b$ trace-class unit ball has volume ratio $O(\sqrt{1+\min(a,b)/r})$. We resolve Nutz--Wang--Zhang's directional and supermartingale conjectures and the higher-dimensional Bass-flow conjecture. For square-integrable laws, full convex reference support is the universal finite-potential criterion in Tschiderer's $q$-Bass problem. Every driver, even atomic, admits one extended potential and shift for all maximal-covariance martingale optimizers of each irreducible pair with full terminal affine span. For Talagrand's problem, five copies of a compact balanced Gaussian half-mass set contain compact convex output of mass at least $3/4$, also in Wiener space. Cheeger's bound is asymptotically exact throughout subexponential Dirichlet spectral ranges of mixed weighted products. For standard Borel sources, a Blackwell-greatest perfectly private full-data release exists exactly when, after discarding conditional point masses, the rest coincide or share a two-point support. Under conditional atomlessness, existence is equivalent to independence. Covariance-matched analytic uniformly log-concave sources can have a greatest useful-data-only private release with infinite information, while no greatest full-data release exists.

A $(\log n)^{1/4}$ Bound for the Komlós Problem

Let $A\in\mathbb{R}^{m\times n}$ have columns of Euclidean norm at most one. We prove that $\operatorname{disc}(A)\le2395\left(1+\log_+\frac n9\right)^{1/4}+2\sqrt2$. Here $\log_+t=\max\{0,\log t\}$. Building on Bansal and Jiang's affine spectral independence framework, we remove the $(\log\log n)^{7/4}$ factor from their bound. The fourth root comes from balancing the logarithmic decrease in the alive dimension against the fourth power of the row thresholds. Historical exponential sums control the covariance budget across size classes with summable thresholds. An exact threshold-sum certificate gives the coefficient $2395$, and rounding at most eight remaining fractional coordinates costs $2\sqrt2$. The finite construction also gives partial colourings from any prescribed starting point and at any prescribed depth, preserving existing signs. We formalize the partial- and full-colouring theorems in Lean, including the finite trajectory, exact threshold sum and final rounding, with Bansal--Jiang Theorem A.4 as the sole external research theorem assumption.

Ptolemaic negative type and the values q(6) and q(7)

Baker, Huh, Kummer, and Lorscheid define the triangular-hyperfield threshold q(n)=q(U_{2,n}) and conjecture exact values for all n. Using their identity q(n)=P(n-1), where P(m) is the universal negative-type exponent of m-point Ptolemaic metrics, we prove q(6)=\log_2(9/4) and q(7)=1. For five points, we separate zero-sum coefficient vectors by sign pattern. A sharp two-summand inequality proves the inequality for the 1+4 pattern. For the 2+3 pattern, a sharp four-point partial-correlation bound and an exact copositivity identity prove the required inequality. For six points, we construct an involutive coefficient transport under metric inversion that preserves the negative-type quadratic form. Applying the transport at an index with positive local contribution converts a hypothetical 3+3 counterexample into a 2+4 counterexample. Complete split graph metrics attain both bounds.
