Construction of $d$-abelian categories via derived categories

In this work, we provide a simple way to construct $d$-abelian categories via bounded derived categories for certain values of $d$. Namely, let ${\mathcal C}$ be an abelian category, and let ${\mathcal C}[0,m]$ denote the full subcategory of the bounded derived category of ${\mathcal C}$ whose objects $X$ satisfy that $H_*(X)$ is concentrated in degrees $j$ where $0 \leq j \leq m$. We prove that if ${\mathcal C}$ is hereditary, then ${\mathcal C}[0,m]$ is a $d$-abelian category where $d = 3m + 1$. Beyond offering a uniform method for constructing $d$-abelian categories, this construction allows us to create $d$-abelian categories that exhibit some unexpected properties depending on the choice of the category ${\mathcal C}$. For instance, if ${\mathcal C}$ is the category of abelian groups, then ${\mathcal C}[0,m]$ is a $d$-abelian category which is not $\mathbb{K}$-linear over a field $\mathbb{K}$ but has set indexed products and coproducts. Similarly, if ${\mathcal C}$ is the category of coherent sheaves over certain algebraic curves, then ${\mathcal C}[0,m]$ is a $d$-abelian category without enough injectives. We extend our results to $(n+2)$-angulated categories. Namely, let $M$ be an $n$-cluster tilting object over an $n$-representation finite algebra and let ${\mathcal T}$ be the corresponding $(n+2)$-angulated category with $n$-suspension functor $\Sigma_n$. We prove that the full subcategory ${\mathcal T}[0,m] = \mathrm{add} \bigoplus^{m}_{j=0}\Sigma^j_n M$ is a $d$-abelian category where $d = (n+2)(m+1)-2$. Furthermore, we show that there is a bijection between the functorially finite wide subcategories of $\mathrm{add}\,M$ and the functorially finite repetitive wide subcategories of ${\mathcal T}[0,m]$.

Defect Invariant Nakayama Algebras

We show that for a given Nakayama algebra $\Theta$, there exist countably many cyclic Nakayama algebras $\Lambda_i$, where $i \in \mathbb{N}$, such that the syzygy filtered algebra of $\Lambda_i$ is isomorphic to $\Theta$ and we describe those algebras $\Lambda_i$. We show, among these algebras, there exists a unique algebra $\Lambda$ where the defects, representing the number of indecomposable injective but not projective modules, remain invariant for both $\Theta$ and $\Lambda$. As an application, we achieve the classification of cyclic Nakayama algebras that are minimal Auslander-Gorenstein and dominant Auslander-regular algebras of global dimension three. Specifically, by using the Auslander-Iyama correspondence, we obtain cluster-tilting objects for certain Nakayama algebras. Additionally, we introduce cosyzygy filtered algebras and show that it is dual of syzygy filtered algebra.

Exceptional sequences of type $B_n/C_n$ and those in the abelian tube

We examine clusters in the cluster tube of rank $n+1$ using exceptional sequences in the abelian tube of rank $n+1$. Although the abelian tube has more exceptional sequences than the module categories of type $B_{n}/C_{n}$, we obtain a bijection between the set of signed exceptional sequences of any length in these categories. This bijection gives a reinterpretation of the formula of Buan-Marsh-Vatne comparing clusters of type $B_n/C_n$ with maximal rigid objects in the cluster tube of rank $n+1$. The bijection passes through the set of "augmented" rooted labeled trees.

Higher Auslander Algebras arising from Dynkin Quivers and n-Representation Finite Algebras

In the derived category of mod-KQ for Dynkin quiver Q, we construct a full subcategory in a canonical way, so that its endomorphism algebra is a higher Auslander algebra of global dimension $3k+2$ for any $k\geq 1$. Furthermore, we extend this construction for higher analogues of representation finite and hereditary algebras. Specifically, if $M$ is an n-cluster tilting object in the bounded derived category of n-representation finite and n-hereditary algebra, then we construct a full subcategory in a canonical way, so that its endomorphism algebra is a higher Auslander algebra of global dimension $(n+2)k+n+1$ for any $k\geq 1$. As an application, we revisit the higher Auslander correspondence. Firstly, we describe the corresponding module categories that have higher cluster-tilting objects, and then we discuss their relationship with certain full subcategories of the derived category. Consequently, we obtain a vast list of n-representation finite n-hereditary algebras whose n-cluster tilting objects are always minimal generator-cogenerator. Moreover, resulting algebras can be realized as endomorphism algebras of certain full subcategories of (higher) cluster categories.

Pointed Hopf Algebras of Discrete Corepresentation Type

We classify pointed Hopf algebras of discrete corepresentation type over an algebraically closed field K with characteristic zero. For such algebras $H$, we explicitly determine the algebra structure up to isomorphism for the link indecomposable component $B$ containing the unit. It turns out that $H$ is a crossed product of $B$ and a certain group algebra.

A new characterisation of quasi-hereditary Nakayama algebras and applications

We call a finite dimensional algebra A S-connected if the projective dimensions of the simple A-modules form an interval. We prove that a Nakayama algebra A is S-connected if and only if A is quasi-hereditary. We apply this result to improve an inequality for the global dimension of quasi-hereditary Nakayama algebras due to Brown. We furthermore classify the Nakayama algebras where equality is attained in Brown's inequality and show that they are enumerated by the even indexed Fibonacci numbers if the algebra is cyclic and by the odd indexed Fibonacci numbers if the algebra is linear.

Exceptional sequences and rooted labeled forests

We give a representation-theoretic bijection between rooted labeled forests with $n$ vertices and complete exceptional sequences for the quiver of type $A_n$ with straight orientation. The ascending and descending vertices in the forest correspond to relatively injective and relatively projective objects in the exceptional sequence. We conclude that every object in an exceptional sequence for linearly oriented $A_n$ is either relatively projective or relatively injective or both. We construct a natural action of the extended braid group on rooted labeled forests and show that it agrees with the known action of the braid group on complete exceptional sequences. We also describe the action of $\Delta$, the Garside element of the braid group, on rooted labeled forests using representation theory and show how this relates to cluster theory.

Delooping Level of Nakayama algebras

We give another proof of the recent result of Ringel, which asserts equality between the finitistic dimension and delooping level of Nakayama algebras. The main tool is syzygy filtration method introduced in \cite{sen2019}. In particular, we give characterization of the finitistic dimension one Nakayama algebras.

Nakayama Algebras which are Higher Auslander Algebras

We prove that any cyclic Nakayama algebra which is a higher Auslander algebra can be uniquely constructed from Nakayama algebras of smaller ranks by reversing the syzygy filtration process. This creates chains of higher Auslander algebras upto $\boldsymbol\varepsilon$-equivalences. Therefore, the classification of all cyclic Nakayama algebras which are higher Auslander algebras reduces to the classification of linear ones. We give two applications of this: for any integer $k$ where $2\leq k\leq 2n-2$, there is a Nakayama algebra of rank $n$ which is a higher Auslander algebra of global dimension $k$ and the possible values of the global dimensions of cyclic Nakayama algebras which are higher Auslander algebras form the sets $\left\{2,\ldots,2n-2\right\}\setminus\left\{n-1\right\}$ if $n$ is even and $\left\{2,\ldots,2n-2\right\}\setminus\left\{ 2,n-1\right\}$ if $n$ is odd.

On the Homology of Nilpotent k-ary Lie Algebras

We introduce nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras including analogues of Heisenberg Lie algebras and free nilpotent Lie algebras. We study homology of k-ary nilpotent Lie algebras by using a modification of Chevalley-Eilenberg complex. For some classes of nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras and in particular Heisenberg k-ary Lie algebras we give explicit formulas for Betti numbers. Representation stability of free nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras is proven and lower bounds for Betti numbers are described by Schur modules. We also verify that toral rank conjecture holds for the classes we studied. Moreover, for 2-step nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras, we give a refinement of it.

Singularities of the dual varieties associated to exterior representations: 1. Dual Grassmannian

For a given irreducible projective variety $X$, the closure of the set of all hyperplanes containing tangents to $X$ is the projectively dual variety $X^{\vee}$. We study the singular locus of projectively dual varieties of certain Segre-Pl\"{u}cker embeddings in series of papers. In this work we give a classification of the irreducible components of the singular locus of the dual Grassmannian. Basically, it admits two components: cusp type and node type which are degeneracies of a certain Hessian matrix, and the closure of the set of tangent planes having more than one critical point, respectively. In particular we reproduce the result about the normality of the dual Grassmannian varieties.

Weak Exceptional Sequences

We introduce weak exceptional sequence of modules which can be viewed as another modification of the standard case, different than the works of Igusa-Todorov \cite{Igusa-Todorov} and Buan-Marsh \cite{Buan-Marsh}. For hereditary algebras it is equivalent to standard exceptional sequences. One important new feature is: if global dimension of algebra is greater than one, then the size of the full sequence can exceed the rank of the algebra. We use both cyclic and linear Nakayama algebras to test combinatorial aspects of this new sequence. For some particular classes we give closed form formulas which returns the number of the full weak exceptional sequences, and compare them with the number of exceptional sequences of types $\mathbb{A}$ and linear radical square zero Nakayama algebras \cite{sen19}.

Exceptional Sequences and Idempotent Functions

We prove that there is a one to one correspondence between the following three sets: idempotent functions on a set of size $n$, complete exceptional sequences of linear radical square zero Nakayama algebras of rank $n$ and rooted labeled forests with $n$ nodes and height of at most one. Therefore, the number of exceptional sequences is given by the sum $\sum\limits^n_{j=1}\binom{n}{j}j^{n-j}$.

Syzygy Filtrations of Cyclic Nakayama Algebras

For any cyclic Nakayama algebra $\Lambda$, we construct \emph{syzygy filtered algebra} $\bm\varepsilon(\Lambda)$ which corresponds to various syzygy modules as the name suggests. We prove that the category of modules over the syzygy filtered algebra $\bm\varepsilon(\Lambda)$ is equivalent to the wide subcategory cogenerated by projective-injective modules of the original algebra $\Lambda$ along with other categorical equivalences. In terms of this new algebra, we interpret the following homological invariants of $\Lambda$: left and right finitistic dimension, left and right $\varphi$-dimension, Gorenstein dimension, dominant dimension and their upper bounds. For all of them, we obtain a unified upper bound $2r$ where $r$ is the number of relations defining the algebra $\Lambda$. We show that the left finitistic and $\varphi$-dimensions are equal to the right finitistic and $\varphi$-dimensions respectively, as well as the difference between $\varphi$-dimension and the finitistic dimension is at most one. Furthermore, we recover various seemingly unrelated results in a uniform way.

The $\varphi$-Dimension of Cyclic Nakayama Algebras

K. Igusa and G. Todorov introduced the $\varphi$ function which generalizes the notion of projective dimension. We study the behavior of the $\varphi$ function for cyclic Nakayama algebras of infinite global dimension. We prove that the supremum of values of $\varphi$ is always an even number. In particular we show that the $\varphi$-dimension is $2$ if and only if the algebra satisfies certain symmetry conditions. Also we give a sharp upper bound for $\varphi$-dimension in terms of the number of monomial relations which describes the algebra.
