Oblique repulsion in the nonnegative quadrant

We consider an electrostatic attractive-repulsive differential system in the nonnegative quadrant. Under some condition on the constants there exists a unique global solution. The main difficulty is to prove uniqueness when starting at the corner of the quadrant.

Brownian motion in the quadrant with oblique repulsion from the sides

We consider the problem of strong existence and uniqueness of a Brownian motion forced to stay in the quadrant by an electrostatic repulsion from the sides that works obliquely. The results are reminiscent of the study of a Brownian motion with oblique reflection in a wedge. Actually, the same skew symmetry condition is involved when looking for a stationary distribution in product form. the terms of the product are now gamma distributions in place of exponential ones. An associate purely deterministic problem is also considered.

Brownian motion, reflection groups and Tanaka formula

In the setting of finite reflection groups, we prove that the projection of a Brownian motion onto a closed Weyl chamber is another Brownian motion normally reflected on the walls of the chamber. Our proof is probabilistic and the decomposition we obtain may be seen as a multidimensional extension of Tanaka's formula for linear Brownian motion. The paper is closed with a description of the boundary process through the local times at zero of the distances from the initial process to the facets.

Boundary behavior of a constrained Brownian motion between reflecting-repellent walls

Stochastic variational inequalities provide a unified treatment for stochastic differential equations living in a closed domain with normal reflection and (or) singular repellent drift. When the domain is a polyhedron, we prove that the reflected-repelled Brownian motion does not hit the non-smooth part of the boundary. A sufficient condition for non-hitting a face of the polyhedron is derived from the one-dimensional case. A complete answer to the question of attainability of the walls of the Weyl chamber may be given for a radial Dunkl process.
