KVServe: Service-Aware KV Cache Compression for Communication-Efficient Disaggregated LLM Serving

LLMs are widely adopted in production, pushing inference systems to their limits. Disaggregated LLM serving (e.g., PD separation and KV state disaggregation) improves scalability and cost efficiency, but it also turns KV into an explicit payload crossing network and storage boundaries, making KV a dominant end-to-end bottleneck. Existing KV compression are typically static runtime configurations, despite production service context varies over time in workload mix, bandwidth, and SLO/quality budgets. As a result, a fixed choice can be suboptimal or even increase latency. We present \emph{KVServe}, the first service-aware and adaptive KV communication compression framework for disaggregated LLM serving: KVServe (1) unifies KV compression into a modular strategy space with new components and cross-method recomposition; (2) introduces Bayesian Profiling Engine that efficiently searches this space and distills a 3D Pareto candidate set, reducing $50\times$ offline search overhead; and (3) deploys a Service-Aware Online Controller that combines an analytical latency model with a lightweight bandit to select profiles under constraints and correct offline-to-online mismatch. Integrated into vLLM and evaluated across datasets, models, GPUs and networks, KVServe achieves up to $9.13\times$ JCT speedup in PD-separated serving and up to $32.8\times$ TTFT reduction in KV-disaggregated serving.

Structure preservation and emergent dissipation in stochastic wave equations with transport noise

We study nonlinear wave equations perturbed by transport noise acting either on the displacement or on the velocity. Such noise models random advection and, under suitable scaling of space covariance, may generate an effective dissipative term. We establish well-posedness in both cases and analyse the associated scaling limits. When the noise acts on the displacement, the system preserves its original structure and converges to the deterministic nonlinear wave equation, whereas if it acts on the velocity, the rescaled dynamics produce an additional Laplacian damping term, leading to a stochastic derivation of a Westervelt-type acoustic model.

Eddy viscosity by L\'evy transport noises

We consider stochastic 2D Euler equations with $L^2$-initial vorticity and driven by L\'evy transport noise in the Marcus sense. Under a suitable scaling limit of the noises, we prove that the weak solutions converge weakly to the unique solution of the deterministic 2D Navier-Stokes equation. This shows that small scale jump noises generate eddy viscosity, extending the recent studies on It\^o-Stratonovich diffusion limit to discontinuous setting.

Edwards-Wilkinson limit for a stochastic advection-diffusion PDE

We consider a diffusion in a Gaussian random environment that is white in time and study the large-scale behavior of the quenched density with respect to the Lebesgue measure. We show that under diffusive rescaling, the fluctuations of the density converge to a Gaussian limit, described by an additive stochastic heat equation. In the case where the environment is divergence-free, our result can be interpreted as computing the scaling limit of the first-order correction to the quenched Central Limit Theorem.

A scaling limit for Vlasov equations with electrostatic fluctuations

We consider a Vlasov equation for a plasma with a given constant magnetic field, and introduce a white noise perturbation of the electric field in the electrostatic approximation, with a discussion of the motivations of such random perturbation. We prove that diffusion in velocity emerges in a suitable scaling limit of the noise, and also discuss the physical relevance of this result.

Strong Uniqueness by Kraichnan Transport Noise for the 2D Boussinesq Equations with Zero Viscosity

We investigate the inviscid 2D Boussinesq equations driven by rough transport noise of Kraichnan type with regularity index $\alpha\in (0,1/2)$. For all $1<p<\infty$, we establish the existence and uniqueness of probabilistic strong solutions for all $L^p$ initial vorticity and $L^2$ initial temperature, under the parameter constraint $0<\alpha< 1-1/(p\wedge 2)$. The key ingredient is the anomalous regularity due to the noise proven by Coghi and Maurelli \cite{CogMau} who dealt with stochastic 2D Euler equations. Combining techniques from analysis and probability, we demonstrate how the additional regularity from noise compensates the singularity due to the nonlinear parts and coupled terms.

Scaling Limit and Large Deviation for 3D Globally Modified Stochastic Navier-Stokes Equations with Transport Noise

We consider the globally modified stochastic (hyperviscous) Navier-Stokes equations with transport noise on 3D torus. We first establish the existence and pathwise uniqueness of the weak solutions, and then show their convergence to the solutions of the deterministic 3D globally modified (hyperviscous) Navier-Stokes equations in an appropriate scaling limit. Furthermore, we prove a large deviation principle for the stochastic globally modified hyperviscous system.

On the pathwise uniqueness of stochastic 2D Euler equations with Kraichnan noise and $L^p$-data

In the recent work [arXiv:2308.03216], Coghi and Maurelli proved pathwise uniqueness of solutions to the vorticity form of stochastic 2D Euler equation, with Kraichnan transport noise and initial data in $L^1\cap L^p$ for $p>3/2$. The aim of this note is to remove the constraint on $p$, showing that pathwise uniqueness holds for all $L^1\cap L^p$ initial data with arbitrary $p>1$.

Well-posedness of stochastic mSQG equations with Kraichnan noise and $L^p$ data

We consider stochastic mSQG (modified Surface Quasi-Geostrophic) equations with multiplicative transport noise of Kraichnan type, and $L^p$-initial conditions. Inspired by the recent work of Coghi and Maurelli [arXiv:2308.03216], we show weak existence and pathwise uniqueness of solutions to the equations for suitable choices of parameters in the nonlinearity, the noise and the integrability of initial data.

An elementary approach to mixing and dissipation enhancement by transport noise

We investigate the mixing properties of solutions to the stochastic transport equation $d u= \circ d W \cdot\nabla u$, where the driving noise $W(t,x)$ is white in time, colored and divergence-free in space. Furthermore, we prove the dissipation enhancement in the presence of a small viscous term. Applying our results, we also derive the mixing properties for a regularized stochastic 2D Euler equation.

Weak well-posedness by transport noise for a class of 2D fluid dynamics equations

A fundamental open problem in fluid dynamics is whether solutions to $2$D Euler equations with $(L^1_x\cap L^p_x)$-valued vorticity are unique, for some $p\in [1,\infty)$. A related question, more probabilistic in flavour, is whether one can find a physically relevant noise regularizing the PDE. We present some substantial advances towards a resolution of the latter, by establishing well-posedness in law for solutions with $(L^1_x\cap L^2_x)$-valued vorticity and finite kinetic energy, for a general class of stochastic 2D fluid dynamical equations; the noise is spatially rough and of Kraichnan type and we allow the presence of a deterministic forcing $f$. This class includes as primary examples logarithmically regularized 2D Euler and hypodissipative 2D Navier-Stokes equations. In the first case, our result solves the open problem posed by Flandoli. In the latter case, for well-chosen forcing $f$, the corresponding deterministic PDE without noise has recently been shown by Albritton and Colombo to be ill-posed; consequently, the addition of noise truly improves the solution theory for such PDE.

On the Boussinesq hypothesis for a stochastic Proudman-Taylor model

We introduce a stochastic version of Proudman-Taylor model, a 2D-3C fluid approximation of the 3D Navier-Stokes equations, with the small-scale turbulence modeled by a transport-stretching noise. For this model we may rigorously take a scaling limit leading to a deterministic model with additional viscosity on large scales. In certain choice of noises without mirror symmetry, we identify an AKA effect. This is the first example with a 3D structure and a stretching noise term.

Uniqueness of weak solutions to the limit resonant equation of 3D rotating Navier-Stokes equations

The limit resonant equation of the 3D rotating Navier-Stokes equations is obtained by taking large rotation limit. This equation has a nonlinear term with restricted interactions between Fourier modes, and thus it enjoys better regularity estimates than those of the classical 3D Navier-Stokes equations. Such estimates enable us to prove uniqueness of weak solutions to the limit resonant equation.

Stochastic inviscid Leray-$\alpha$ model with transport noise: convergence rates and CLT

We consider the stochastic inviscid Leray-$\alpha$ model on the torus driven by transport noise. Under a suitable scaling of the noise, we prove that the weak solutions converge, in some negative Sobolev spaces, to the unique solution of the deterministic viscous Leray-$\alpha$ model. This implies that transport noise regularizes the inviscid Leray-$\alpha$ model so that it enjoys approximate weak uniqueness. Interpreting such limit result as a law of large numbers, we study the underlying central limit theorem and provide an explicit convergence rate.

Well posedness and limit theorems for a class of stochastic dyadic models

We consider stochastic inviscid dyadic models with energy-preserving noise. It is shown that the models admit weak solutions which are unique in law. Under a certain scaling limit of the noise, the stochastic models converge weakly to a deterministic viscous dyadic model, for which we provide explicit convergence rates in terms of the parameters of noise. A central limit theorem underlying such scaling limit is also established. In case that the stochastic dyadic model is viscous, we show the phenomenon of dissipation enhancement for suitably chosen noise.
