MaxKernel: Agentic Kernel Generation for TPUs

Designing and authoring high-performance custom kernels for accelerators is a complex task that requires deep hardware-level expertise. Large Language Models (LLM) can be leveraged together with real-time compiler feedback to build agentic systems for kernel generation. In this work, we present MaxKernel, a multi-agent system that implements three distinct paradigms for TPU kernel development: (1) a Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) agent for collaborative, step-by-step design; (2) an Autonomous (Auto) agent that executes a fully automated, metric/trace-driven optimization loop; and (3) a Graph-Based Autonomous Search that scales the Auto agent for global exploration of the design space. All three paradigms leverage a shared pool of specialized sub-agents to handle planning, implementation, self-debugging, testing, and hardware profiling. We evaluate MaxKernel on JaxBench, a comprehensive suite of 50 diverse kernel tasks for TPUs, alongside complex, real-world workloads from state-of-the-art open-source models. We demonstrate that MaxKernel consistently generates highly optimized implementations, matching expert hand-tuned baselines and delivering significant performance across the benchmark. Our agent is open-sourced and available https://github.com/AI-Hypercomputer/accelerator-agents/tree/main/MaxKernel.

MACO: A Multi-Agent LLM Framework for Automated CGRA Hardware/Software Co-Design

Designing optimal Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Arrays (CGRAs) requires navigating a vast, interdependent hardware/software space bottlenecked by costly manual iteration. We present MACO, an open-source, multi-agent LLM framework that automates CGRA HW/SW co-design. MACO decomposes the design loop into four collaborative stages, HW/SW Co-design, Error Correction, Best-Design Selection, and Evaluation & Feedback, to iteratively optimize power, performance, and area (PPA). To accelerate convergence and efficiently traverse the design space, MACO introduces an exponentially decaying exploration strategy, EDA-guided LLM self-learning, and robust rule-based error correction. Evaluated against state-of-the-art baselines, MACO reduces power consumption by 25.9%, improves performance by 20.0%, and accelerates the search process by 5x. Finally, we validate MACO's physical design through a complete 7nm ASIC design flow.

Minimum Time Consensus of Multi-agent System under Fuel Constraints

This work addresses the problem of finding minimum time consensus point in the state space for a set of $N$ identical double integrator agents with bounded inputs and fixed fuel budget constraint. To address the problem, characterization of the attainable set for each agent subject to bounded inputs and fixed fuel budget constraints is done. Such attainable set is shown to be a convex set. The minimum time to consensus is the least time when the attainable sets of all agents intersect and the corresponding consensus state is the point of intersection. Using Helly's theorem, it is shown that the intersection is not empty at the time when all triplets of agents exhibit a non-empty intersection. Thus, a closed-form expression for the minimum time to consensus for a triplet of agents is obtained. The calculation of minimum time consensus for each of the triplets is performed independently and is distributed evenly among $N$ agents. The overall minimum time to consensus of $N$ agents is then given by the triplet that has the greatest minimum time to consensus. In the process, the set of initial conditions for agents from which consensus is possible under these input and fuel budget constraints is also characterized.

Disturbance Decoupling Problem for $n$-link chain pendulum on a cart system

A disturbance decoupling problem for a $n$-link chain pendulum on a cart is considered. A model of the cart developed in a coordinate-free framework and the linearized equations of this system are considered from [1]. It is shown that it is possible to design a suitable state feedback such that the angular position or velocity of the $n^{th}$-link can always be decoupled from the disturbance coming at the cart.

Enhanced Upper Critical Fields in a New Quasi-one-dimensional Superconductor Nb2PdxSe5

We report a discovery of superconductivity with Tc = 5.5 K in Nb2PdxSe5, in which one-dimensional (1D) Nb-Se chains existing along the b-direction hybridize each other to form the conducting b-c* plane. The magnetic susceptibility and specific heat data in both single- and poly-crystals show evidence of bulk superconductivity. The resistivity, Hall coefficient, and magneto-resistance data all indicate the presence of an energy scale T* = ~ 50 K, which becomes systematically lowered under hydrostatic pressure and competes with the stabilization of superconductivity. Combined with the band calculation results showing the Fermi surfaces with 1D character, we postulate that the energy scale T* is related to a formation of a density wave or a stabilization of low dimensional electronic structure. The zero temperature upper critical field, Hc2(0), of the single crystal is found to be 10.5, 35 and 22 T in the a', b and c*-directions, respectively. While the linearly increasing Hc2(T) for H // c* indicates the multi-band effect, Hc2(0) for H // b and c* are found to be much bigger than the BCS Pauli limiting field, 1.84 Tc ~ 9 T. The suppressed Pauli paramagnetic effect points to a possibility of the enhanced spin-orbit scattering related to the low dimensional electronic structure or the presence of heavy elements such as Pd.

Large Longitudinal Magnetoelectric Coupling in NiFe2O4-BaTiO3 Laminates

In contrast to the Pb-based magnetoelectric laminates (MELs), we find in the BaTiO3 and NiFe2O4 laminates (number of layers n = 5-25) that the longitudinal magnetoelectric (ME) voltage coefficient Alpha E33 becomes much larger than the transverse one due to preferential alignment of magnetic moments along the NiFe2O4 plane. Moreover, upon decreasing each layer thickness down to 15 um, we realize enhanced Alpha E33 up to 18 mV/ (cm Oe) and systematic increase of the ME sensitivity in proportion to n to achieve the largest in the Pb-free MELs (400*10^-6V/Oe), thereby providing pathways for tailoring ME coupling in mass-produced, environment friendly laminates.
