Exponential mixing of frame flows for three dimensional manifolds of quarter-pinched negative curvature

For a compact three-dimensional smooth Riemannian manifold of strictly 1/4-pinched negative sectional curvature, we establish exponential mixing of the frame flow with respect to the normalized volume. More generally this result extends to a class of torus extensions of Anosov flows, subject to assumptions on the Brin transitivity group and the smoothness of the stable subbundle. Our approach is based on a simplified dynamical model for studying the extension flow, constructed via a Young tower of the underlying Anosov flow. Exponential mixing is then obtained through a strengthened Dolgopyat type estimate on the corresponding transfer operators.

Stretched-exponential mixing for surface semiflows and Anosov flows

For a surface semiflow that is a suspension of a \( C^{1+\alpha} \) expanding Markov interval map, we prove that, under the assumptions that the roof function is Lipschitz continuous and not cohomologous to a locally constant function, the semiflow exhibits stretched-exponential mixing with respect to the SRB measure. This result extends to hyperbolic skew-product semiflows and hyperbolic attractors. Specifically, codimension-one topologically mixing Anosov flows with Lipschitz continuous stable foliations demonstrate stretched-exponential mixing with respect to their SRB measures.

A remark on rapid mixing for hyperbolic flows

We establish an improved criterion for rapid mixing of hyperbolic flows by weakening the requirement on the temporal distance function from positive box dimension to the existence of two values whose ratio is Diophantine. We also demonstrate the applicability of our results through explicit examples where the previous dimension condition were either too restrictive or computationally infeasible to verify.

Rapid mixing and superpolynomial equidistribution for torus extensions of hyperbolic flows

In this paper, we study mixing rates for $\mathbb{T}^{d}$-extensions of hyperbolic flows. Given three closed orbits with their holonomies, we can relate them to a point in $\mathbb{R}^{d+1}$. We prove that the extension flow enjoys rapid mixing, if the associated point is an inhomogeneously Diophantine number. Under the same assumption, we also obtain the superpolynomial equidistribution, namely, a superpolynomial error term in the equidistribution of the holonomy around closed orbits. Lastly, we apply these results to a class of three-dimensional frame flows.

Rapid mixing for compact group extensions of hyperbolic flows

In this article, we give explicit conditions for compact group extensions of hyperbolic flows (including geodesic flows on negatively curved manifolds) to exhibit quantifiable rates of mixing (or decay of correlations) with respect to the natural probability measures, which are locally the product of a Gibbs measure for a H\"older potential and the Haar measure. More precisely, we show that the mixing rate with respect to H\"older functions will be faster than any given polynomial (i.e., rapid mixing). We also give error estimates on the equidistribution of the holonomy around closed orbits. In particular, these results apply to some frame flows for manifolds with negative sectional curvatures.

On the volume of sectional-hyperbolic sets

For a transitive sectional-hypebolic set $\Lambda$ with positive volume on a $d$-dimensional manifold $M$($d\ge3$), we show that $\Lambda=M$ and $\Lambda$ is a uniformly hyperbolic set without singularities
