Parity violation in M{\o}ller scattering within low-energy effective field theory

We include electroweak effects in Moller scattering at low energies in an effective field theory approach and compute the left-right parity-violating asymmetry. The calculation using low-energy effective field theory provides a solid framework to integrate out heavy particles with masses of the order of the electroweak scale, allowing the resummation of all large logarithms between the electroweak scale and the scale, where QCD perturbation theory breaks down. The NLO electroweak corrections with leading logarithmic resummation, combined with QED corrections at NNLO and hadronic effects are implemented into the Monte Carlo framework McMule. Thus, we obtain a fully differential description and present results adapted to the MOLLER experiment. The potential impact of large logarithms at the next-to-leading logarithmic level is investigated.

QCD corrections for subleading powers in $1/m_b$ for the nonleptonic $b\rightarrow c\bar c s$ transition

We compute next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the $1/m_b^2$ terms of the Heavy Quark Expansion for the contribution to inclusive nonleptonic bottom hadron decays induced by the charged-current operators mediating the transitions $b \to c \bar c q$ ($q = s,d$). Their contributions to lifetimes are Cabibbo favoured and have large Wilson coefficents, but have not been computed before, since the presence of two heavy quarks in the final state makes this calcuation technically demanding. It finally adds the last missing piece of the full NLO terms at $1/m_b^2$ in the heavy quark expansion of $B$-hadron lifetimes. We obtain analytical results with full dependence on the final-state charm quark mass, which we provide in the supplemental file "coefbccs.m".

QCD corrections at subleading power for inclusive nonleptonic $b\rightarrow c\bar u d$ decays

In this paper we compute the NLO QCD corrections for the inclusive nonleptonic decay rates of $B$-hadrons at subleading power of the heavy quark expansion. In particular, we discuss the coefficient of the chromomagnetic moment parameter $\mu_G$ which has a large uncertainty at leading order due to its dependence on the renormalization scale. We find that the renormalization-scale dependence of this coefficient is significantly reduced, thereby reducing the theoretical uncertainty of the coefficient and consequently of the rates. The sign of the coefficient becomes stable, and we estimate that the NLO corrections will increase the decay rates by around $2\%$.

QCD corrections to the Darwin coefficient in inclusive semileptonic $B\rightarrow X_u \ell \bar{\nu}_\ell$ decays

In this paper we compute $\alpha_s$ corrections to the matching coefficients of the dimension six operators in the Heavy Quark Expansion of the inclusive semileptonic heavy hadron decay rate and leptonic invariant mass spectrum with a massless quark and both a massive or massless lepton in the final state, analytically. The obtained results can be applied to the inclusive semileptonic $B\rightarrow X_u \ell \bar{\nu}_\ell$ ($\ell = e,\,\mu,\,\tau$) and $D\rightarrow X \ell \bar{\nu}_\ell$ ($\ell = e,\,\mu$) decays. The main application of our results is the background subtraction of the $B\rightarrow X_u \ell \bar{\nu}_\ell$ decay in the measurement of the $B\rightarrow X_c\ell \bar{\nu}_\ell$ decay, which is important for the precise extraction of $V_{cb}$ and $R(D^{(*)})$. They also play a role in the computation of lifetimes of heavy hadrons.

The heavy quark expansion for lifetimes: Towards the QCD corrections to power suppressed terms

We consider the Heavy Quark Expansion (HQE) for the nonleptonic decay rates of heavy hadrons, and compute the NLO QCD corrections to power terms up to order $1/m_Q^2$. We neglect the masses of the final-state quarks, so the application of our result is mainly for charmed hadrons. Our result can be applied also to bottomed hadrons as they constitute the main effect to this order up to corrections of $\mathcal{O}(m_c/m_b)$ and contributions due to penguin operators. We discuss the impact of our result for the lifetimes of heavy hadrons.

NLO QCD corrections to inclusive semitauonic weak decays of heavy hadrons up to $1/m_b^3$

This paper presents $\alpha_s$ corrections to the inclusive semitauonic $B \to X_c \tau \bar{\nu}_\tau$ decay width and leptonic invariant mass spectrum up to order $1/m_b^3$ in the heavy quark expansion. Analytical results with full dependence on the final-state quark and tau lepton masses are obtained. The results up to $1/m_b^2$ can be extrapolated to the $B \to X_u \tau \bar{\nu}_\tau$ decay by taking the limit of vanishing final-state quark mass.

Spectator effects in the HQET renormalization group improved Lagrangian at $\mathcal{O}(1/m^3)$ with leading logarithmic accuracy: Spin-dependent case

The present paper incorporates the effects induced by massless spectator quarks in the renormalization group improved Wilson coefficients associated to the ${\cal O}(1/m^3)$ spin-dependent heavy quark effective theory Lagrangian operators. The computation is carried out in Coulomb gauge with leading logarithmic precision. The result completes the Lagrangian to $\mathcal{O}(1/m^3)$ with that accuracy.

The chromo-polarizabilities of a heavy quark at weak coupling

We obtain the renormalization group improved expressions of the Wilson coefficients of the HQET Lagrangian with leading logarithmic approximation to ${\cal O}(1/m^3)$ for the spin-independent sector, which includes the heavy quark chromo-polarizabilites. Our analysis includes the effects induced by spectator quarks. We observe that the numerical impact of these logarithms is very large in most cases.
