Classification of five-point differential-difference equations II

Using the generalized symmetry method we finish a classification, started in the article [R.N. Garifullin, R.I. Yamilov and D. Levi, Classification of five-point differential-difference equations, J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 50 (2017) 125201 (27pp)], of integrable autonomous five-point differential-difference equations. The resulting list, up to autonomous point transformations, contains 14 equations some of which seem to be new. We have found non-autonomous or non-point transformations relating most of the obtained equations among themselves as well as their generalized symmetries.

Classification of five-point differential-difference equations

Using the generalized symmetry method, we carry out, up to autonomous point transformations, the classification of integrable equations of a subclass of the autonomous five-point differential-difference equations. This subclass includes such well-known examples as the Itoh-Narita-Bogoyavlensky and the discrete Sawada-Kotera equations. The resulting list contains 17 equations some of which seem to be new. We have found non-point transformations relating most of the resulting equations among themselves and their generalized symmetries.

Non-invertible transformations for the classification of differential-difference equations

We discuss aspects of the theory of non-invertible transformations which enter in the problem of classification of diffe\-ren\-tial-difference equations and, in particular, the notion of Miura type transformation. We introduce the concept of non--Miura type linearizable transformation and we present techniques which allow one to construct simple linearizable transformations and help us to solve the classification problem. This theory is illustrated by the example of a new integrable differential--difference equation depending on 5 lattice points, interesting from the viewpoint of the non-invertible transformation which relate it to an Itoh--Narita--Bogoyavlensky equation.

Linearizability and fake Lax pair for a consistent around the cube nonlinear non-autonomous quad-graph equation

We discuss the linearization of a non-autonomous nonlinear partial difference equation belonging to the Boll classification of quad-graph equations consistent around the cube. We show that its Lax pair is fake. We present its generalized symmetries which turn out to be non-autonomous and depending on an arbitrary function of the dependent variables defined in two lattice points. These generalized symmetries are differential difference equations which, in some case, admit peculiar Bäcklund transformations.

High order multiscale analysis of discrete integrable equations

In this article we present the results obtained applying the multiple scale expansion up to the order $\varepsilon^6$ to a dispersive multilinear class of equations on a square lattice depending on 13 parameters. We show that the integrability conditions given by the multiple scale expansion give rise to 4 nonlinear equations, 3 of which are new, depending at most on 2 parameters and containing integrable sub cases. Moreover at least one sub case provides an example of a new integrable system.

Supersymmetric KdV equation: Darboux transformation and discrete systems

For the supersymmetric KdV equation, a proper Darboux transformation is presented. This Darboux transformation leads to the Bäcklund transformation found early by Liu and Xie \cite{liu2}. The Darboux transformation and the related Bäcklund transformation are used to construct integrable super differential-difference and difference-difference systems. The continuum limits of these discrete systems and of their Lax pairs are also considered.

Four Points Linearizable Lattice Schemes

We provide conditions for a lattice scheme defined on a four points lattice to be linearizable by a point transformation. We apply the obtained conditions to a symmetry preserving difference scheme for the potential Burgers introduced by Dorodnitsyn \cite{db} and show that it is not linearizable.

Generalized symmetry integrability test for discrete equations on the square lattice

We present an integrability test for discrete equations on the square lattice, which is based on the existence of a generalized symmetry. We apply this test to a number of equations obtained in different recent papers. As a result we prove the integrability of 7 equations which differ essentially from the $Q_V$ equation introduced by Viallet and thus from the Adler-Bobenko-Suris list of equations therein contained.

Discrete Multiscale Analysis: A Biatomic Lattice System

We discuss a discrete approach to the multiscale reductive perturbative method and apply it to a biatomic chain with a nonlinear interaction between the atoms. This system is important to describe the time evolution of localized solitonic excitations. We require that also the reduced equation be discrete. To do so coherently we need to discretize the time variable to be able to get asymptotic discrete waves and carry out a discrete multiscale expansion around them. Our resulting nonlinear equation will be a kind of discrete Nonlinear Schrödinger equation. If we make its continuum limit, we obtain the standard Nonlinear Schrödinger differential equation.

A discrete linearizability test based on multiscale analysis

In this paper we consider the classification of dispersive linearizable partial difference equations defined on a quad-graph by the multiple scale reduction around their harmonic solution. We show that the A_1, A_2 and A_3 linearizability conditions restrain the number of the parameters which enter into the equation. A subclass of the equations which pass the A_3 C-integrability conditions can be linearized by a Mobius transformation.

Integrability of Differential-Difference Equations with Discrete Kinks

In this article we discuss a series of models introduced by Barashenkov, Oxtoby and Pelinovsky to describe some discrete approximations to the ϕ^4 theory which preserve travelling kink solutions. We show, by applying the multiple scale test that they have some integrability properties as they pass the A_1 and A_2 conditions. However they are not integrable as they fail the A_3 conditions.

Integrability Test for Discrete Equations via Generalized Symmetries

In this article we present some integrability conditions for partial difference equations obtained using the formal symmetries approach. We apply them to find integrable partial difference equations contained in a class of equations obtained by the multiple scale analysis of the general multilinear dispersive difference equation defined on the square.

Lie point symmetries of differential--difference equations

We present an algorithm for determining the Lie point symmetries of differential equations on fixed non transforming lattices, i.e. equations involving both continuous and discrete independent variables. The symmetries of a specific integrable discretization of the Krichever-Novikov equation, the Toda lattice and Toda field theory are presented as examples of the general method.

$λ$-symmetries for discrete equations

Following the usual definition of $λ$-symmetries of differential equations, we introduce the analogous concept for difference equations and apply it to some examples.

On a nonlinear integrable difference equation on the square 3D-inconsistent

We present a nonlinear partial difference equation defined on a square which is obtained by combining the Miura transformations between the Volterra and the modified Volterra differential-difference equations. This equation is not symmetric with respect to the exchange of the two discrete variables and does not satisfy the 3D-consistency condition necessary to belong to the Adler-Bobenko-Suris classification. Its integrability is proved by constructing its Lax pair.
