Linearly repetitive Delone sets are rectifiable

In this paper we prove that, for any integer $d>0$, every linearly repetitive Delone set in the Euclidean $d$-space $\RR^d$ is equivalent, up to a bi-Lipschitz homeomorphism, to the integer lattice $\ZZ^d$. In the particular case when the Delone set $X$ in $\RR^d$ comes from a primitive substitution tiling of $\RR^d$, we give a condition on the eigenvalues of the substitution matrix which implies the existence of a homeomorphism with bounded displacement from $X$ to the lattice lattice $\lambda\ZZ^d$ for some positive $\lambda$. This condition includes primitive Pisot substitution tilings but also concerns a much broader set of substitution tilings.

On bounded cocycles of isometries over a minimal dynamics

We show the following geometric generalization of a classical theorem of W.H. Gottschalk and G.A. Hedlund: a skew action induced by a cocycle of (affine) isometries of a Hilbert space over a minimal dynamics has a continuous invariant section if and only if the cocycle is bounded. Equivalently, the associated twisted cohomological equation has a continuous solution if and only if the cocycle is bounded. We interpret this as a version of the Bruhat-Tits center lemma in the space of continuous functions. Our result also holds when the fiber is a proper CAT(0) space. One of the appplications concerns matrix cocycles. Using the action of $\mathrm{GL} (n,\mathbb{R})$ on the (nonpositively curved) space of positively definite matrices, we show that every bounded linear cocycle over a minimal dynamics is cohomologous to a cocycle taking values in the orthogonal group.

On the dynamics of non-reducible cylindrical vortices

We study skew-maps given by a minimal homeomorphism on the basis and a cocycle of affine isometries on the fibers. We call such a map a cylindrical vortex. We extend to this setting some classical results of Atkinson, Besicovitch, Matsumoto-Shishikura and Schinelman (among other people) about cylindrical cascades. In particular, we show that no cylindrical vortex is minimal, and we construct interesting examples of topologically transitive ones.

Rapid convergence to frequency for Substitution Tilings of the Plane

This paper concerns self-similar tilings in dimension 2. We consider the number of occurrences of a given tile in any domain bounded by a Jordan curve. For a large class of self-similar tilings, including most known examples, we give estimates of the oscillation of this number of occurrences around its average frequency times the total number of tiles in the domain, which depend only on the Jordan curve.
