Geometric quantum discord and coherence in a dipolar interacting magnetic system

The study of low-dimensional metal complexes has revealed fascinating characteristics regarding the ground-state crossover shown by spin-gaped systems. In this context, this work explores the effect of the quantum-level crossing, induced by the magnetic anisotropies of dipolar interacting systems, on the quantum discord and coherence of the system. The analytical expressions for the quantum discord, based on Schatten 1-norm, and the $l_1$ trace-norm quantum coherence for dinuclear spin-1/2 systems, are provided in terms of the magnetic anisotropies. The results show that, while the quantum discord has a clear signature of the quantum level-crossing, the basis dependence of the quantum coherence hides the crossover regarding the measured basis. In addition, the global quantum coherence is wholly stored within the correlations of the system, regardless of its reference basis.

Entanglement dynamics of a dc SQUID interacting with a single-mode radiation field

In this work, we study the coupling between a superconducting device as a dc SQUID, simulated from an artificial atom with two degrees of freedom, and a single-mode radiation field for the information transference process. We demonstrate that the population transfer among the energy levels of the artificial atom yields an entanglement dynamics, which leads to the generation of a pair of photons. Moreover, we show the quantum information transference between the internal modes of the superconducting device, initially in a maximally entangled state, and the radiation field. The artificial atom absorbs the photon, and the radiation field modes become entangled as quantum coherence is transmitted from the superconducting device to the photons. These results strengthen the applicability of superconducting devices for the transference of quantum information, contributing to promising applications in emerging quantum technologies.

Thermal entanglement and teleportation in a dipolar interacting system

Quantum teleportation, which depends on entangled states, is a fascinating subject and an important branch of quantum information processing. The present work reports the use of a dipolar spin thermal system as a quantum channel to perform quantum teleportation. Non-locality, tested by violation of Bell's inequality and thermal entanglement, measured by negativity, unquestionably show that even entangled states that do not violate Bell's inequality can be useful for teleportation.
