Breaking Planner Integrity Boundary: Enviroment State-Text Injection Attack on LLM-Driven Embodied Agents

Large language model (LLM)-driven embodied agents rely on environment states to interpret scenes, generate high-level plans, and drive physical execution, making planner-visible state representations a critical security boundary. Existing attacks primarily manipulate user instructions, prompt contexts, model behavior, or perceptual inputs, while paying limited attention to whether environment-state text itself can serve as deceptive task evidence and propagate beyond planning to affect execution outcomes. Because embodied tasks are constrained by entity grounding, action preconditions, spatial relations, and environmental constraints, planning deviation alone does not guarantee adversarial execution. To address this gap, we investigate environment-state text as an independent attack surface and present the first closed-loop Environment State-Text Injection (ESTI) attack for LLM-driven embodied agents. Without modifying the original user instruction, model parameters, or executor, ESTI reformulates an adversarial objective as false state evidence compatible with the current environment and influences planning and execution through object properties, spatial relations, affordances, task-stage rules, and execution feedback. We further develop ESTI-Bench to evaluate attack propagation across the planning-to-execution closed loop and compare ESTI with Vanilla IPI, EIRAD, and BADROBOT across ProgPrompt/VirtualHome, VoxPoser/RLBench, and AI2-THOR/iTHOR. ESTI consistently outperforms existing baselines, improving planning-level and execution-level attack success rates by up to 89.32\% and 43.69\%, respectively. Further analysis shows that grounding, consistency, and executability jointly determine whether manipulated state evidence can propagate through the embodied closed loop and produce verifiable environmental changes.

D-GVIO: A Buffer-Driven and Efficient Decentralized GNSS-Visual-Inertial State Estimator for Multi-Agent Systems

Cooperative localization is essential for swarm applications like collaborative exploration and search-and-rescue missions. However, maintaining real-time capability, robustness, and computational efficiency on resource-constrained platforms presents significant challenges. To address these challenges, we propose D-GVIO, a buffer-driven and fully decentralized GNSS-Visual-Inertial Odometry (GVIO) framework that leverages a novel buffering strategy to support efficient and robust distributed state estimation. The proposed framework is characterized by four core mechanisms. Firstly, through covariance segmentation, covariance intersection and buffering strategy, we modularize propagation and update steps in distributed state estimation, significantly reducing computational and communication burdens. Secondly, the left-invariant extended Kalman filter (L-IEKF) is adopted for information fusion, which exhibits superior state estimation performance over the traditional extended Kalman filter (EKF) since its state transition matrix is independent of the system state. Thirdly, a buffer-based re-propagation strategy is employed to handle delayed measurements efficiently and accurately by leveraging the L-IEKF, eliminating the need for costly re-computation. Finally, an adaptive buffer-driven outlier detection method is proposed to dynamically cull GNSS outliers, enhancing robustness in GNSS-challenged environments.

Equivariant Filter for Tightly Coupled LiDAR-Inertial Odometry

Pose estimation is a crucial problem in simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). However, developing a robust and consistent state estimator remains a significant challenge, as the traditional extended Kalman filter (EKF) struggles to handle the model nonlinearity, especially for inertial measurement unit (IMU) and light detection and ranging (LiDAR). To provide a consistent and efficient solution of pose estimation, we propose Eq-LIO, a robust state estimator for tightly coupled LIO systems based on an equivariant filter (EqF). Compared with the invariant Kalman filter based on the $\SE_2(3)$ group structure, the EqF uses the symmetry of the semi-direct product group to couple the system state including IMU bias, navigation state and LiDAR extrinsic calibration state, thereby suppressing linearization error and improving the behavior of the estimator in the event of unexpected state changes. The proposed Eq-LIO owns natural consistency and higher robustness, which is theoretically proven with mathematical derivation and experimentally verified through a series of tests on both public and private datasets.

SuperVINS: A Real-Time Visual-Inertial SLAM Framework for Challenging Imaging Conditions

The traditional visual-inertial SLAM system often struggles with stability under low-light or motion-blur conditions, leading to potential lost of trajectory tracking. High accuracy and robustness are essential for the long-term and stable localization capabilities of SLAM systems. Addressing the challenges of enhancing robustness and accuracy in visual-inertial SLAM, this paper propose SuperVINS, a real-time visual-inertial SLAM framework designed for challenging imaging conditions. In contrast to geometric modeling, deep learning features are capable of fully leveraging the implicit information present in images, which is often not captured by geometric features. Therefore, SuperVINS, developed as an enhancement of VINS-Fusion, integrates the deep learning neural network model SuperPoint for feature point extraction and loop closure detection. At the same time, a deep learning neural network LightGlue model for associating feature points is integrated in front-end feature matching. A feature matching enhancement strategy based on the RANSAC algorithm is proposed. The system is allowed to set different masks and RANSAC thresholds for various environments, thereby balancing computational cost and localization accuracy. Additionally, it allows for flexible training of specific SuperPoint bag of words tailored for loop closure detection in particular environments. The system enables real-time localization and mapping. Experimental validation on the well-known EuRoC dataset demonstrates that SuperVINS is comparable to other visual-inertial SLAM system in accuracy and robustness across the most challenging sequences. This paper analyzes the advantages of SuperVINS in terms of accuracy, real-time performance, and robustness. To facilitate knowledge exchange within the field, we have made the code for this paper publicly available.

The Unified Mathematical Framework for IMU Preintegration in Inertial-Aided Navigation System

This paper proposes a unified mathematical framework for inertial measurement unit (IMU) preintegration in inertial-aided navigation system in different frames under different motion condition. The navigation state is precisely discretized as three parts: local increment, global state, and global increment. The global increment can be calculated in different frames such as local geodetic navigation frame and earth-centered-earth-fixed frame. The local increment which is referred as the IMU preintegration can be calculated under different assumptions according to the motion of the agent and the grade of the IMU. Thus, it more accurate and more convenient for online state estimation of inertial-integrated navigation system under different environment. Furthermore, the covariance propagation based on left perturbation is proposed for the first time, which is independent of the inputs of the gyroscope and accelerometer. Finally, we show the monotonicity of the uncertainty for determinant optimality criteria and R\'enyi entropy optimality criteria.

Equivariant Filtering Framework for Inertial-Integrated Navigation

This paper proposes a equivariant filtering (EqF) framework for the inertial-integrated state estimation problem. As the kinematic system of the inertial-integrated navigation can be naturally modeling on the matrix Lie group $SE_2(3)$, the symmetry of the Lie group can be exploited to design a equivariant filter which extends the invariant extended Kalman filtering on the group affine system. Furthermore, details of the analytic state transition matrices for left invariant error and right invariant error are given.

$SE_2(3)$ based Extended Kalman Filtering and Smoothing Framework for Inertial-Integrated Navigation

This paper proposes an $SE_2(3)$ based extended Kalman filtering (EKF) framework for the inertial-integrated state estimation problem. The error representation using the straight difference of two vectors in the inertial navigation system may not be reasonable as it does not take the direction difference into consideration. Therefore, we choose to use the $SE_2(3)$ matrix Lie group to represent the state of the inertial-integrated navigation system which consequently leads to the common frame error representation. With the new velocity and position error definition, we leverage the group affine dynamics with the autonomous error properties and derive the error state differential equation for the inertial-integrated navigation on the north-east-down (NED) navigation frame and the earth-centered earth-fixed (ECEF) frame, respectively, the corresponding EKF, terms as $SE_2(3)$ based EKF has also been derived. It provides a new perspective on the geometric EKF with a more sophisticated formula for the inertial-integrated navigation system. Furthermore, we design two new modified error dynamics on the NED frame and the ECEF frame respectively by introducing new auxiliary vectors. Finally the equivalence of the left-invariant EKF and left $SE_2(3)$ based EKF have been shown in navigation frame and ECEF frame.

Kalman Filter from the Mutual Information Perspective

Kalman filter is a best linear unbiased state estimator. It is also comprehensible from the point view of the Bayesian estimation. However, this note gives a detailed derivation of Kalman filter from the mutual information perspective for the first time. Then we extend this result to the R\'enyi mutual information. Finally we draw the conclusion that the measurement update of the Kalman filter is the key step to minimize the uncertainty of the state of the dynamical system.

The Geometry and Kinematics of the Matrix Lie Group $SE_K(3)$

Currently state estimation is very important for the robotics, and the uncertainty representation based Lie group is natural for the state estimation problem. It is necessary to exploit the geometry and kinematic of matrix Lie group sufficiently. Therefore, this note gives a detailed derivation of the recently proposed matrix Lie group $SE_K(3)$ for the first time, our results extend the results in Barfoot \cite{barfoot2017state}. Then we describe the situations where this group is suitable for state representation. We also have developed code based on Matlab framework for quickly implementing and testing.
