Structuring Semantic Embeddings for Principle Evaluation: A Prototype-Guided Contrastive Learning Approach

Reliable post-hoc evaluation asks whether already generated text satisfies a target criterion after generation. In this paper we study a focused frozen-embedding setting using principle-evaluation proxy tasks: toxicity detection, fine-grained emotion categorization, and ordinal review rating. General-purpose text embeddings are widely deployed for such tasks, but broad semantic similarity can place semantically similar yet task-distinct examples in overlapping regions of the representation space. We introduce Prototype-Guided Contrastive Learning (PGCL), a prototype-guided geometric regularization module built on top of frozen text embeddings. The module combines a semantic stream, a prototype-anchor attention stream, supervised contrastive learning, offset-based prototype-margin regularization, and stream regularization to produce a compact task-adapted representation without updating the base encoder. Controlled experiments show that PGCL improves over raw frozen embeddings on all three datasets and gives the clearest direct-baseline margin on AmazonReviews, while remaining competitive with strong direct frozen metric-learning baselines on GoEmotions and ToxicComment. We also add supervised residual-adapter, encoder-LoRA, full fine-tuning, objective ablation, sensitivity, and fully logged few-shot LLM protocol diagnostics to define the boundary of the claim. The theoretical analysis is revised as a sufficient-condition account for prototype-margin behavior under explicit assumptions in the prototype-mapping space, rather than as an unconditional training or final-embedding separation guarantee.

HNPclassifier: An R Package for Hierarchical Neyman-Pearson Classification

In multi-class classification problems, classes often have a natural priority ordering (e.g., cancer stages, COVID-19 severity levels, or air-quality categories). In such settings, it is important to prioritize correct identification of more severe classes and to control under-classification errors, which occur when an observation from a higher-priority class is misclassified into a lower-priority one. The Hierarchical Neyman-Pearson (H-NP) framework of Wang et al. (2024) was developed for ordered multi-class settings to prioritize under-classification error control; its H-NP umbrella algorithm provides high-probability control of under-classification errors at user-specified levels. This paper introduces the R package HNPclassifier, which implements H-NP umbrella algorithms to construct H-NP classifiers using built-in learners such as logistic regression, random forests, and support vector machines, as well as user-supplied scoring functions, thereby enabling effective error control for ordered multi-class classification tasks.

Relative Quasimaps and Tilting Module of $U(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$

We study the equivariant cohomology of the moduli space of quasimaps from $\mathbb{P}^1$ with one marked point to the flag variety. This moduli space has an open subset isomorphic to the Laumon space. The equivariant cohomology of the Laumon space carries a natural action of $U(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ constructed via geometric correspondences. We extend this construction to the entire quasimap moduli space and relate it to tilting modules of $U(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$.

Affine Laumon space and contragredient dual Verma module of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n)$

We study the action of the quantum group $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n)$ on the equivariant K-theory of affine Laumon spaces. We show that, at any lowest weight away from the critical level, this can be identified with the contragredient dual Verma module of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n)$, improving earlier results of Braverman-Finkelberg and Negu\c{t}. The proof uses a variant of stable envelopes first introduced by Maulik-Okounkov in the study of Nakajima quiver varieties.
