Monocular Avatar Reconstruction via Cascaded Diffusion Priors and UV-Space Differentiable Shading

Reconstructing high-fidelity, relightable 3D avatars from a single in-the-wild image is a challenging ill-posed problem, primarily hindered by the scarcity of high-quality PBR data and the complexity of disentangling illumination from intrinsic materials. In this paper, we present a data-efficient framework that leverages the robust priors of a unified pre-trained diffusion backbone to sequentially address texture completion, delighting, and material decomposition. Unlike existing methods that rely on fragmented pipelines or extensive proprietary datasets, we utilize cascaded Low-Rank Adaptations (LoRAs) to adapt the strong generative prior of the diffusion model for each sub-task in UV space. Specifically, we first employ an Inpainting LoRA to complete missing UV textures caused by occlusion, leveraging the model's semantic understanding to generate semantically and photometrically coherent details. Subsequently, a Light-Homogenization LoRA and a novel Cross-Intrinsic Attention mechanism are introduced to remove baked-in lighting and collaboratively synthesize pixel-aligned PBR maps (Albedo, Normal, Roughness, Specular, and Displacement). To ensure physical plausibility, we impose a UV-space differentiable BRDF shading loss during the decomposition stage, forcing the generative process to adhere to the rendering equation without the artifacts typical of rasterization-based supervision. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method, trained on fewer than 100 real 3D scans, generates comprehensive, 4K-resolution PBR assets with superior realism and generalization compared to state-of-the-art methods, and all training code and model weights will be released upon acceptance.

Amber-Image: Efficient Compression of Large-Scale Diffusion Transformers

Diffusion Transformer (DiT) architectures have significantly advanced Text-to-Image (T2I) generation but suffer from prohibitive computational costs and deployment barriers. To address these challenges, we propose an efficient compression framework that transforms the 60-layer dual-stream MMDiT-based Qwen-Image into lightweight models without training from scratch. Leveraging this framework, we introduce Amber-Image, a series of streamlined T2I models. We first derive Amber-Image-10B using a timestep-sensitive depth pruning strategy, where retained layers are reinitialized via local weight averaging and optimized through layer-wise distillation and full-parameter fine-tuning. Building on this, we develop Amber-Image-6B by introducing a hybrid-stream architecture that converts deep-layer dual streams into a single stream initialized from the image branch, further refined via progressive distillation and lightweight fine-tuning. Our approach reduces parameters by 70% and eliminates the need for large-scale data engineering. Notably, the entire compression and training pipeline-from the 10B to the 6B variant-requires fewer than 2,000 GPU hours, demonstrating exceptional cost-efficiency compared to training from scratch. Extensive evaluations on benchmarks like DPG-Bench and LongText-Bench show that Amber-Image achieves high-fidelity synthesis and superior text rendering, matching much larger models.

Magneto-photoelectrochemical 2D heterojunction platform for biosensing detection

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensors exhibit significant potential for biomolecule detection due to their high sensitivity and low background noise. However, their performance is severely constrained by the rapid recombination of photogenerated charge carriers. This study innovatively introduces a non-contact magnetic modulation strategy to suppress electron-hole recombination by manipulating carrier spin states, thereby significantly enhancing photoelectric conversion efficiency. Building on this mechanism, we developed a novel magnetically modulated PEC biosensing platform based on the MXenes/cobalt-doped titanium dioxide (Co-TiO2) heterostructure. This platform achieved ultrasensitive detection of protein kinase A (PKA) activity. Compared to an identical probe-modified biosensor without magnetic field application, the developed platform demonstrated a 68.75% enhancement in detection sensitivity and achieved an ultralow detection limit for PKA of 0.00016 U/mL. It also exhibited a wide linear range from 0.005 to 80 U/mL. This research not only provides a novel methodology for kinase activity analysis but also pioneers the innovative strategy of magnetic modulation for enhanced PEC sensing. It opens new avenues for developing high-performance biosensing platforms, holding significant promise for early disease diagnosis and drug screening applications.

EROICA: Online Performance Troubleshooting for Large-scale Model Training

Troubleshooting performance problems of large model training (LMT) is immensely challenging, due to unprecedented scales of modern GPU clusters, the complexity of software-hardware interactions, and the data intensity of the training process. Existing troubleshooting approaches designed for traditional distributed systems or datacenter networks fall short and can hardly apply to real-world training systems. In this paper, we present EROICA, the first online troubleshooting system that provides both fine-grained observation based on profiling, and coverage of all machines in GPU clusters, to diagnose performance issues in production, including both hardware and software problems (or the mixture of both). EROICA effectively summarizes runtime behavior patterns of LMT function executions via online profiling, and leverages differential observability to localize the root cause with minimal production impact. EROICA has been deployed as a production service for large-scale GPU clusters of ~100,000 GPUs for 1.5 years. It has diagnosed a variety of difficult performance issues with 97.5% success.

HelloMeme: Integrating Spatial Knitting Attentions to Embed High-Level and Fidelity-Rich Conditions in Diffusion Models

We propose an effective method for inserting adapters into text-to-image foundation models, which enables the execution of complex downstream tasks while preserving the generalization ability of the base model. The core idea of this method is to optimize the attention mechanism related to 2D feature maps, which enhances the performance of the adapter. This approach was validated on the task of meme video generation and achieved significant results. We hope this work can provide insights for post-training tasks of large text-to-image models. Additionally, as this method demonstrates good compatibility with SD1.5 derivative models, it holds certain value for the open-source community. Therefore, we will release the related code (\url{https://songkey.github.io/hellomeme}).
