Search for the reaction channel $e^+ e^- \to ηη\,J/ψ$ and the isospin partner of the $Z_c(3900)$ at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s} = 4.226-4.950$ GeV

We search for the reaction channel $e^+ e^- \to ηη\,J/ψ$ in a data sample with center-of-mass energies from 4.226 to 4.950 GeV that was collected by the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII). The data analysis is performed with two different reconstruction methods, exclusive and semi-inclusive, enabling a comparison and combination of the results. Only at a few energy points a non-zero cross section is observed with a statistical significance of more than 3$σ$ using one of the methods. Therefore, the corresponding upper limits of the cross section at the 90% confidence level are determined. The energy dependent results show clear deviations from the the line shape expected from three-body phase space alone. Since the statistical significance for almost all center-of-mass energies is low, the upper limits for the reaction channel $e^+ e^- \to ηη\,J/ψ$ also serve as limits for the existence of a possible isospin partner to the charmonium-like isospin triplet $Z_{\rm c}(3900)$ which decays to $J/ψη$.

Search for the radiative decay $D^+_s \to γK^*(892)^+$

Using 7.33 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we perform a simultaneous fit to search for the radiative decay $D_s^+\toγK^*(892)^+$ via $K^*(892)^+\to K^+π^0$ and $K^*(892)^+\to K_S^0π^+$ for the first time. No significant signals are observed. The upper limit on the branching fraction of $D^+_s\toγK^*(892)^+$ is set to be $2.3\times10^{-4}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level.

Improved amplitude analysis of $η^\prime\toπ^+π^-π^0$ and $η^\prime\toπ^0π^0π^0$

Using a sample of $(10087\pm44)\times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we perform an amplitude analysis of the decays $η^\prime\toπ^+π^-π^0$ and $η^\prime\toπ^0π^0π^0$, where we observe significant $π^\pmπ^0$ $P$-wave and $π$-$π$ $S$-wave interactions. Two different parameterizations, a $π$-$π$ scattering phase shift and the Gounaris-Sakurai Breit-Wigner formalism, are used to describe the $P$-wave propagator. Due to the large interference, the branching fractions for both the $P$- and the $S$-waves are found to be strongly model dependent.

Customizable and Jointly Optimized Route Planning: A Deep Architecture Enabling Differentiable Shortest-Path Search

With the widespread use of online navigation and ride-hailing services, achieving optimal route planning for diverse user preferences has recently attracted increasing attention. Classic graph algorithms for pathfinding use heuristic cost functions to define edge weight, thus providing no optimality guarantee of route quality. Prior data-driven approaches equating ground truth of the optimal route with user trajectory, which is however moderately influenced by the navigation service, suffers from the feedback loop problem. To address these issues, we propose a deep architecture that is able to jointly optimize cost functions and route-ranking model towards any route preference. First, we run a multi-objective Dijkstra algorithm offline to collect the set of Pareto optimal routes, deeming it as the complete candidate set. Exploiting the property of such a set, we design a neural network structure that emulates shortest-path search and route ranking in an end-to-end differentiable manner. Second, we define route preference as a task of constrained optimization of route attributes, and propose a novel loss function that optimizes a single-objective variable, with other variables strictly under constraints. We conduct extensive experiments on real-world datasets. The results show that our architecture significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in route quality and customizability.

Observation of double $s\bar{s}$ production in $e^+e^-$ collision at $\sqrt{s} = 3.08~\textrm{GeV}$

We report the observation of significant double-$s\bar{s}$ production in the $e^+e^-$ continuum, based on the measurement of prompt $ϕ$ mesons produced in association with hadrons containing an $s$ quark or an $s\bar{s}$ pair. In an analysis of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected by the BESIII experiment at $\sqrt{s}=3.08~\textrm{GeV}$, the ratio $σ(e^+e^- \to ϕ s\bar{s}+\textrm{anything}) / σ(e^+e^-\rightarrowϕ+\textrm{anything})$ is determined to be $(40.4\pm1.7_{\rm stat.}\pm1.5_{\rm syst.})\%$ by detecting and measuring $e^+e^-\toϕ+ X(s\bar{s})$, where $X(s\bar{s})$ denotes an $η$ meson, an $η^{\prime}$ meson, or one of the strange-meson pairs $K^+K^-$, $K^+K^{*-}$, $K^-K^{*+}$, $K^0\bar{K}^{0}$, and $K^0\bar{K}^{*0}+\textrm{c.c.}$. The level of double-$s\bar{s}$ production is in line with the double-$c\bar{c}$ production reported by the Belle and \babar\ collaborations, for which theoretical calculations predict lower rates. The experimental measurement of double $s\bar{s}$ production at BESIII can shed light on the understanding of quark hadronization and QCD.

Search for charmonium(like) states $X$ in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγX\rightarrowγD^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}$ at BESIII

A search is performed for a state $X$ decaying into $D^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}$ produced in the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγX$ using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1667.4 $\rm pb^{-1}$ collected at $\sqrt{s} = 4.682$ GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII. The state $X$ could be one of the $C$-even states $X(4013)$, $η_{c}(3S)$, $χ_{c0}(3P)$, $χ_{c1}(3P)$, or $χ_{c2}(3P)$. No significant signal is observed in the corresponding signal region. Upper limits of $σ_{e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγX}\cdot {\rm Br}_{X\rightarrow D^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}}$ at 90% confidence level are provided, where $σ_{e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγX}$ represents the cross section of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγX$ process, and ${\rm Br}_{X\rightarrow D^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}}$ is the branching fraction of the $X\rightarrow D^{*0}\bar{D}^{*0}$ process.

Measurement of the cross sections of $e^+e^-\to K_{S}^{0}\barΞ^{0}Λ/Σ^{0} + \text{c.c.}$ at center-of-mass energies between 3.510 and 4.951 GeV

Using $e^+e^-$ collision data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII at center-of-mass energies between 3.510 and 4.951 GeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 44.55 fb$^{-1}$, the Born cross sections of the processes $e^+e^- \to K_S^0 \barΞ^0 Λ/Σ^0+\text{c.c.}$ are measured with a partial-reconstruction strategy. The dressed cross sections for the channels $e^+e^- \to K_S^0 \barΞ^0 Λ/Σ^0 + \text{c.c.}$ are fitted with a model consisting of a power-law function and a charmonium (-like) resonance, considering the candidates $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, $Y(4230)$, $Y(4360)$, $ψ(4415)$, $Y(4500)$, $Y(4660)$, and $Y(4710)$. No significant resonance contribution is observed in any of the fits. The upper limits for the products of the electronic partial widths and branching fractions at the 90% confidence level are provided.

First Observation and Dynamical Study of the $D^+_s\to f_{0}(980) μ^+ν_μ$ Decay

Using 7.33 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data recorded with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies from 4.128 to 4.226 GeV, we report the first observation and dynamical study of the semileptonic decay $D^+_s\to f_{0}(980) μ^+ν_μ$. The absolute branching fraction of $D^+_s\to f_{0}(980) μ^+ν_μ$ with $ f_{0}(980)\to π^+ π^-$ is $(1.59 \pm 0.18_{\rm stat} \pm 0.11_{\rm syst}) \times10^{-3}$. Combining this result with our earlier BESIII measurement of ${\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to f_{0}(980) e^+ν_e)$, their ratio is found to be $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to f_{0}(980) μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to f_{0}(980)e^+ν_e)} = 0.92\pm0.13_{\rm stat}\pm0.08_{\rm syst}$, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation of lepton flavor universality. From a dynamical analysis of the $D_{s}^{+} \to f_{0}(980)μ^+ν_μ$ decay with a simple pole parametrization for the hadronic transition form factor, the product of the form factor $f^{f_{0}(980)}_{+}(0)$ and the $c\to s$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ is determined to be $f^{f_{0}(980)}_{+}(0)|V_{cs}|=0.490\pm0.059_{\rm stat}\pm0.025_{\rm syst}$. Averaging with our previously reported result for the $D_{s}^{+} \to f_{0}(980)e^+ν_e$ decay, we obtain $f^{f_{0}(980)}_{+}(0)|V_{cs}|=0.500\pm0.016_{\rm stat}\pm0.020_{\rm syst}$. Using $|V_{cs}|$ from the CKMfitter group, we extract $f^{f_{0}(980)}_{+}(0)=0.514\pm0.017_{\rm stat}\pm0.021_{\rm syst}$. This represents the most precise determination of the $D_{s} \to f_{0}(980)$ transition form factor to date, and provides stringent tests of various theoretical models.

Exploring baryon semi-leptonic decays through polarization and entanglement

The unitarity of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix is a cornerstone of the Standard Model (SM). Precise tests of this unitarity require independent determinations of its elements, such as $|V_{us}|$, which governs the transition between strange and up quarks. Current measurements from kaon and tau decays show tensions that may hint at physics beyond the SM. Hyperon semi-leptonic decays provide alternative probes, but have remained largely untapped because previous experiments lacked sufficient kinematic information, rendering the measurements insensitive to the relevant form factors. Here we report measurements of the axial-vector and weak-magnetism couplings, as well as the first determinations of the absolute branching fraction and weak-electricity coupling in $Λ\to p e^{-}\barν_e$, achieved by exploiting the polarization and quantum entanglement of $Λ\barΛ$ pairs produced at the $J/ψ$ resonance. Combining our results with recent lattice Quantum Chromodynamics calculations gives $|V_{us}|_{\rm LQCD}=0.2339\pm0.0041$, a model-independent determination consistent with CKM unitarity. By pioneering the exploitation of polarization and quantum entanglement in baryon semi-leptonic decays, our method enhances single-event sensitivity and it is broadly applicable to other baryon semi-leptonic decays, establishing the foundation for a systematic research program that can achieve precision comparable to that of kaon decays and provide a stringent independent test of the SM.

Measurement of Born Cross Section for $e^+e^-\to K_S^0\barΞ^+Σ^-+\rm{c.c.}$ at $\sqrt{s} = 3.51-4.95$ GeV

Using $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 44~fb$^{-1}$, we present the first measurement of the Born cross sections for the process $e^+e^-\to K_S^0\barΞ^+Σ^-$ at 56 center-of-mass energies from 3.510 to 4.951~GeV. By fitting the dressed cross sections of $e^+e^-\to K_S^0\barΞ^+Σ^-$ with the assumption of a power-law function plus a charmonium(-like) resonance, i.e. $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, $Y(4230)$, $Y(4360)$, $ψ(4415)$, $Y$(4500), $Y(4660)$, and $Y$(4710), no significant signal of any charmonium(-like) state decaying into the $K_S^0\barΞ^+Σ^-$ is observed. Upper limits on the product of the electronic width and branching fraction at the 90% confidence level are given for each resonance. Combining this result with the previous measurement of the isospin-symmetric process $e^+e^-\to K^{-} \barΞ^{+} Σ^{0} $, the ratio of the Born cross sections, $R=σ^{B}(e^+e^-\to K_S^0\barΞ^+Σ^-)/$$σ^{B}(e^+e^-\to K^-\barΞ^+Σ^0)$, is found to be consistent with unity.

DINO-Med: A Unified Patch-Based Adaptation Framework for Multi-Modal Medical Image Analysis Applied to Liver Fibrosis Staging

Adapting natural-image foundation models like DINOv3 to multi-modal medical imaging is challenging due to the significant domain gap between natural color images and multi-channel medical scans. We present a unified, patch-based framework that processes raw multimodal imaging through training-free registration, automated localization, and mask-filtered patch extraction. This architecture culminates in a hierarchical strategy that aggregates patch-level insights into subject-level diagnostics. Using liver fibrosis staging as a case study, we evaluate four patch-level feature representations: handcrafted Radiomics features, learned ResNet features, pre-trained foundation model SAM-Med2D features, and frozen DINOv3 features. To ensure a controlled comparison, all models utilize the same lightweight MLP head and are evaluated across both rigid and deformable registration settings. Our training protocol focuses on mild fibrosis (S1) and cirrhosis (S4) classes only, enabling a single classifier to address both substantial fibrosis detection and cirrhosis staging. Evaluated via 10 random train (90%)/ test (10%) splits on 360 subjects from the CARE 2025 Liver Track 4 cohort, our DINOv3-based framework significantly outperforms all baselines, achieving the best classification accuracy of 78.4% for S1 and 75.8% for S4.

Search for the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decays $D^0\to K^+π^-η^\prime$ and $D^+\to K^+π^0η^\prime$

We present the first search for the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decays $D^0\to K^+π^-η^\prime$ and $D^+\to K^+π^0η^\prime$ using an $e^+e^-$ collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb$^{-1}$, collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the Beijing Spectrometer III (BESIII) detector at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider II (BEPCII). No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on their decay branching fractions are set to be $3.0\times 10^{-5}$ and $2.1\times 10^{-5}$ at the 90% confidence level, respectively. By combining these results with the world-average branching fractions of the corresponding Cabibbo-favored decays, upper limits at the 90% confidence level are obtained on the ratios of doubly Cabibbo-suppressed to Cabibbo-favored branching fractions. The limits are determined to be $1.6\times \tan^4θ_C$ and $3.7\times \tan^4θ_C$ for $D^0\to K^+π^-η^\prime$ and $D^+\to K^+π^0η^\prime$, respectively, where $θ_C$ denotes the Cabibbo mixing angle.

Tackling Parallelization Challenges of Randomized Preconditioners With Dependency Tracking

Incomplete Cholesky (IC) preconditioners are the standard black-box, memory-efficient first resort for large graph Laplacian systems, but classical IC can break down on irregular graphs. Approximate Cholesky (AC) addresses this with randomized dropping that is provably breakdown-free. Its stochastic fill-in pattern, however, resists static parallelization, creating a "setup bottleneck." We present ParAC, which parallelizes the sequential rchol algorithm on CPUs and GPUs using dynamic dependency tracking and architecture-aware memory management, without altering its numerics. Total time-to-solution speedups over deterministic IC reach $57.3\times$ on CPU and $52.2\times$ on GPU. Algebraic multigrid (AMG) remains preferable on structured PDE discretizations; on irregular graph Laplacians where AMG struggles, ParAC attains up to $7.2\times$ and $6.0\times$. On 200 adversarial SDD systems, ParAC converges on every instance, whereas the AMG solvers fail on 15 and 19, on CPU and GPU, respectively.

Parameterized and Streaming Algorithms for Euclidean Fair $k$-Center Clustering

Motivated by the growing importance of fairness in machine learning, fair $k$-center clustering has attracted considerable research attention as a fundamental problem. In this problem, a dataset is partitioned into $m$ disjoint groups, and the objective is to select $k$ data points as centers, subject to upper bounds on the number of centers chosen from each group, aiming to minimize the maximum distance between any data point and its assigned center. Focusing on Euclidean spaces, which are ubiquitous in machine learning applications, we first develop a parameterized approximation algorithm for Euclidean fair $k$-center with an approximation ratio of $2.732$. By incorporating this algorithm as a post-processing stage into a one-pass streaming framework for large-scale data, we obtain an approximation ratio of $4.464$. These ratios can be further respectively improved to $2.414$ and $3.828$ with a runtime exponential on $k$. To ensure polynomial-time complexity, we further design a one-pass streaming algorithm with an approximation ratio of $4.732$, which can be further improved to $4.42$, outperforming the state-of-the-art ratio. Finally, extensive experiments show that our methods significantly outperform state-of-the-art approaches in terms of clustering accuracy.

Measurement of the $Λ$ Electric Dipole Moment with an Entangled Baryon-Antibaryon System

The dominance of matter over antimatter in the universe has consistently driven the pursuit of new physics beyond the Standard Model that violates charge-parity symmetry. Strange baryons (hyperons) remain a largely unexplored territory in which interactions between hyperons and particles from new physics could induce a nontrivial electric dipole moment (EDM). However, direct measurements of hyperon EDMs through spin precession are highly challenging owing to their short lifetimes. In this work, we introduce a method to extract the EDM of the lightest hyperon, $Λ$, using the entangled $Λ$$\overlineΛ$ system. Our result is consistent with zero, achieving a three-orders-of-magnitude improvement over the previous upper limit established in the 1980s with comparable statistics, providing stringent constraints on potential new physics.

Measurement of CP Asymmetry Parameters and Polarization Correlations in $Ω^{-}\barΩ^{+}$ Pairs

Using $(2.71 \pm 0.01) \times 10^9$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, a joint full angular distribution analysis is carried out for the process $ψ(3686) \to Ω^-(\toΛK^-) \, \barΩ^{+}(\to \barΛK^+)$. The first simultaneous measurement of the weak decay parameters $ϕ_{Ω^{-}}$ and $ϕ_{\barΩ^{+}}$ for $Ω^- \to K^-Λ$ and $\barΩ^+ \to K^+\barΛ$ is performed, yielding the first result for the CP-sensitive observable, $ϕ_{\rm CP} = (-0.004 \pm 0.055 \pm 0.017)~\text{rad}$, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This further enables the extraction of the weak and strong phase differences between the $P$- and $D$-wave amplitudes: $(ξ_D - ξ_P) = (-0.15 \pm 2.25 \pm 0.69)~\text{rad}$ and $(δ_D - δ_P) = (-0.97 \pm 0.88 \pm 0.34)~\text{rad}$. Additionally, the polarization correlations between $Ω^{-}$ and $\barΩ^{+}$ are measured.

First Observation of $D^{0(+)}\to \bar Kωe^+ν_e$ and Determination of the Branching Fraction of $\bar K_1(1270)\to \bar K ω$

Using 20.3~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector, we report the first observation of the semileptonic decays \mbox{$D^0\to K^-ωe^+ν_e$} and \mbox{$D^+\to K_S^0ωe^+ν_e$} with significances of $8.0σ$ and $5.8σ$, respectively. Their decay branching fractions are measured to be ${\cal B}(D^0\to K^-ωe^+ν_e)=(9.4^{+2.0}_{-1.8}\pm 0.6)\times10^{-5}$ and ${\cal B}(D^+\to K_S^0ωe^+ν_e)=(8.0^{+2.4}_{-2.1}\pm 0.7)\times10^{-5}$. Combining these with the latest measurements of $D^{0(+)}\to K^-π^+π^{-(0)} e^+ν_e$ and assuming $\bar{K}_1(1270)$ to be the sole mediating resonance in all processes, the branching ratios are determined to be $\frac{Γ(K_1(1270)^-\to K^-π^+π^-)}{Γ(K_1(1270)^-\to K^-ω)} = 3.4^{+0.8}_{-0.7} \pm 0.3$ and $\frac{Γ(\bar{K}_1(1270)^0\to K^-π^+π^0)}{Γ(\bar{K}_1(1270)^0\to \bar{K}^0ω)} = 7.9^{+2.4}_{-2.1} \pm 0.7$. The combined branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal B(\bar{K}_1(1270)\to \bar{K}ω) = (8.4\pm 1.4 \pm 0.5)\%$, which is the most precise measurement from a collider experiment. Furthermore, %based on the $\bar{K}π^+π^-π^0$ invariant mass spectra, for the first time based on a single vector-pseudoscalar decay channel, the $\bar{K}_1(1270)$ mass is measured to be $(1336 \pm 9 \pm 2)$~MeV/$c^2$, providing unique experimental support for the two-pole structure of the $\bar{K}_1(1270)$ resonance. The first uncertainties are statistical, and the second are systematic.
