Pebbling Numbers and Generator Reinforcement of Cayley Graphs

We study inverse-closed generator additions of minimum size that make the optimal pebbling number of a finite Cayley graph at most three while preserving its specified regular action. A weighted vertex-cover formulation on inverse orbits yields an $O(|Γ|^2)$ algorithm for abelian groups in the explicit multiplication-table model. We derive formulas for central involutions and cubelike graphs, with an inverse-closure correction determined by square roots in the uncovered set. The exact thresholds are $2^{d-1}-d$ for hypercubes ($d\ge1$), and $3$ for standard Keller graphs when $d=2$ and $2^{d-1}$ when $d\ge3$. Every admissible augmentation of either family has ordinary pebbling number equal to its order.

STARS-GS: Structure-Aware Regularized Gaussian Splatting for Large-Scale Aerial Surface Reconstruction

Large-scale 3D surface reconstruction from aerial imagery is fundamental to geospatial mapping and urban modeling. Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have demonstrated considerable potential for this task. However, existing methods still face three major challenges in large and complex scenes: scene partitioning may split continuous scene elements across independently optimized sub-regions; geometric constraints mainly focus on the attributes of individual Gaussians while overlooking their local organization; and uniform regularization struggles to accommodate heterogeneous geometric structures. To address these issues, we propose STARS-GS, a structure-aware 3DGS framework for large-scale surface reconstruction. First, we introduce a structure-aware scene partitioning strategy that better preserves continuous scene structures during partitioning and reduces cross-region geometric inconsistencies and stitching artifacts through boundary refinement. Second, we develop neighborhood-aware Gaussian organization that extends geometric constraints from individual primitives to their neighborhood organization, encouraging Gaussians to better conform to local surface geometry. Third, we introduce adaptive surface regularization that adjusts the regularization strength according to local geometric characteristics, promoting geometric consistency in structured regions while preserving plausible variations in unstructured regions. Extensive experiments on large-scale aerial photogrammetry benchmarks demonstrate that STARS-GS consistently outperforms the evaluated Gaussian-based methods in surface reconstruction. It increases the average F1-score from 0.640 for the second-best method to 0.698, corresponding to a relative improvement of approximately 9.1\%, demonstrating effective improvements in geometric accuracy and surface completeness.

BRF-GS: Hyperspectral Bidirectional Reflectance Factor Modeling and Image Generation Based on 3D Gaussian Splatting

The bidirectional reflectance factor (BRF) characterizes the directional radiative properties of terrestrial surfaces. However, existing three-dimensional (3D) radiative transfer models require complex scene construction and computationally intensive radiative transfer solvers, limiting efficient generation of multi-angle hyperspectral reflectance imagery. 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) offers an efficient framework for neural scene representation and novel view synthesis, but its low-order spherical harmonics representation is insufficient for complex directional reflectance, while the high dimensionality and inter-band quality differences of hyperspectral data introduce additional challenges. To address these challenges, we propose BRF-GS, a 3DGS-based framework for BRF modeling and hyperspectral reflectance image generation. BRF-GS introduces a hybrid BRDF-driven kernel to represent complex directional reflectance, selects geometry-reliable spectral bands for robust 3D scene initialization, and adopts a two-stage training strategy that decouples geometry optimization from spectral modeling. We further construct the AIR-BRF dataset, a multi-angle hyperspectral directional reflectance dataset comprising three scenes with diverse natural and artificial targets. Experiments demonstrate that BRF-GS achieves superior spatial and spectral fidelity and accurately reproduces characteristic view-dependent BRF responses. The proposed framework provides an efficient data-driven approach for BRF modeling and multi-angle hyperspectral reflectance image generation in remote sensing scenes.

Improving Few-Step Language Flows with Untied Self-Conditioning

Flow-matching language models refine all token positions in parallel and can trade sampling steps for latency, yet generation quality still degrades sharply with few sampling steps. We trace a source of this degradation to a train--inference mismatch in previous-prediction self-conditioning: during training, the self-conditioning input is computed from the current noisy state with no intervening solver step; during sampling, the solver folds the previous prediction into the latent before that same prediction reappears as the explicit self-conditioning input. This coupling, absent during training, creates redundancy that grows with step width. We show that the mismatch degrades both the self-conditioning input and the solver update, and derive a correction for each from the model's own structure. From the frozen projection weights we identify directions along which the self-conditioning input is redundant with the latent and dampen them; from the solver's integration structure we derive that a step-average prediction is needed and approximate it from prediction history, with scale set by offline trajectory statistics. The resulting sampler, Untied Self-Conditioning, requires no retraining and uses one evaluation per step. At 8 sampling steps on LangFlow, it reduces OpenWebText generative perplexity from $531$ to~$62$ ($8.6\times$); under an adapted Arena-Hard-Auto~v2 protocol, its outputs are preferred in $96\%$ of pairwise comparisons. On ELF-B it reduces generative perplexity from $71$ to~$43$. Improvements hold from 8 to 256 sampling steps.

A linear algebraic proof of the Laplacian spread conjecture

For a graph $G,$ let $α(G)$ denote its second smallest Laplacian eigenvalue. The Laplacian Spread Conjecture is that $α(G)+α(\overline{G}) \geq 1,$ where $\overline{G}$ is the complement of $G.$ In this article, we provide a new proof of the Laplacian spread conjecture by means of linear algebra, which is more concise.

Multi-agent rendezvous in fluid flows via reinforcement learning

Rendezvous is a critical task for multi-agent systems, requiring agents to coordinate to meet at an unspecified location. However, achieving this in fluid environments presents a challenge, as it remains unclear how agents can exploit underlying fluid kinematics to facilitate convergence. In this study, we adopt a multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) approach to develop physics-informed rendezvous strategies in vortical flows. Compared to a naive strategy, where agents navigate toward their counterparts, MARL strategies significantly improve the rendezvous rate. MARL strategies also show transferability across varying vortex intensities, vortex scales, and swarm sizes. By breaking the symmetry of the state-action map, MARL strategy leverages a non-intuitive mechanism that prevents agents from becoming trapped in separate vortices, thereby enhancing rendezvous success. Additionally, a heuristic strategy is extracted from the learned strategy and also outperforms the naive strategy. Furthermore, a theoretical analysis demonstrates that fluid deformation impedes the rendezvous process. Large finite-time Lyapunov exponents identify where fluid effects separate adjacent agents, suggesting that targets should be planned in weak-deformation regions. Our findings reveal the important role that agent-fluid interactions play in multi-agent tasks and highlight the MARL capability to explore swarm intelligence in complex flow environments.

Learning Native Continuation for Action Chunking Flow Policies

Action chunking enables Vision Language Action (VLA) models to run in real time, but naive chunked execution often exhibits discontinuities at chunk boundaries. Real-Time Chunking (RTC) alleviates this issue but is external to the policy, leading to spurious multimodal switching and trajectories that are not intrinsically smooth. We propose Legato, a training-time continuation method for action-chunked flow-based VLA policies. Specifically, Legato initializes denoising from a schedule-shaped mixture of known actions and noise, exposing the model to partial action information. Moreover, Legato reshapes the learned flow dynamics to ensure that the denoising process remains consistent between training and inference under per-step guidance. Legato further uses randomized schedule condition during training to support varying inference delays and achieve controllable smoothness. Empirically, Legato produces smoother trajectories and reduces spurious multimodal switching during execution, leading to less hesitation and shorter task completion time. Extensive real-world experiments show that Legato consistently outperforms RTC across five manipulation tasks, achieving approximately 10% improvements in both trajectory smoothness and task completion time.

EVA01: Unified Native 3D Understanding and Generation via Mixture-of-Transformers

This paper addresses the challenge of integrating 3D meshes as a native modality within Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs). Diffusion-based large reconstruction models decouple semantic understanding from geometric reasoning, operating as stateless reconstructors conditioned on dense 2D pixel priors. Recent MLLM-based methods treat the 3D modality as an external output rather than a native component of the multimodal sequence, making incremental adaptations without a systematic analysis of how geometric manifolds align with MLLM feature spaces. We introduce EVA01, a unified framework that extends the modality boundary of MLLMs to natively incorporate 3D mesh understanding, generation, and context-aware editing. Built upon a Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) architecture, EVA01 decouples the model into a pre-trained Understanding Expert ($E_{\mathrm{und}}$) and a structurally mirrored Generation Expert ($E_{\mathrm{gen}}$), coupled through shared global self-attention with hard modality routing. This design aligns the semantic latent space of the MLLM backbone with the geometric manifold, enabling direct transfer of multimodal priors without intermediate 2D representations. Results show that EVA01 achieves state-of-the-art native text-to-3D generation fidelity and unlocks robust long-context multi-turn geometric editing with identity preservation, a capability fundamentally inaccessible to stateless reconstruction pipelines. Our findings further offer architectural insights for integrating 2D foundation models with 3D tasks, informing the design of 3D-native multimodal systems. GEAR: Geography-knowledge Enhanced Analog Recognition Framework in Extreme Environments

The Mariana Trench and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau exhibit significant similarities in geological origins and microbial metabolic functions. Given that deep-sea biological sampling faces prohibitive costs, recognizing structurally homologous terrestrial analogs of the Mariana Trench on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is of great significance. Yet, no existing model adequately addresses cross-domain topographic similarity retrieval, either neglecting geographical knowledge or sacrificing computational efficiency. To address these challenges, we present \underline{\textbf{G}}eography-knowledge \underline{\textbf{E}}nhanced \underline{\textbf{A}}nalog \underline{\textbf{R}}ecognition (\textbf{GEAR}) Framework, a three-stage pipeline designed to efficiently retrieve analogs from 2.5 million square kilometers of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau: (1) Skeleton guided Screening and Clipping: Recognition of candidate valleys and initial screening based on size and linear morphological criteria. (2) Physics aware Filtering: The Topographic Waveform Comparator (TWC) and Morphological Texture Module (MTM) evaluate the waveform and texture and filter out inconsistent candidate valleys. (3) Graph based Fine Recognition: We design a \underline{\textbf{M}}orphology-integrated \underline{\textbf{S}}iamese \underline{\textbf{G}}raph \underline{\textbf{N}}etwork (\textbf{MSG-Net}) based on geomorphological metrics. Correspondingly, we release an expert-annotated topographic similarity dataset targeting tectonic collision zones. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of every stage. Besides, MSG-Net achieved an F1-Score 1.38 percentage points higher than the SOTA baseline. Using features extracted by MSG-Net, we discovered a significant correlation with biological data, providing evidence for future biological analysis.

ARSGaussian: 3D Gaussian Splatting with LiDAR for Aerial Remote Sensing Novel View Synthesis

Novel View Synthesis (NVS) can reconstruct scenes from multi-view images and synthesize novel images from new viewpoints, which provides technical support for tasks such as target recognition and environmental perception. Aerial remote sensing can conveniently capture a wealth of multi-view images with just a few flights. However, the challenges brought by large distances and sparse viewing angles during collection can cause the model to easily produce floaters and overgrowth issues due to geometric estimation errors. This results in low visual quality and a lack of precise geometric estimation capabilities. Therefore, this study presents ARSGaussian, an innovative novel view synthesis (NVS) method for aerial remote sensing. The method incorporates LiDAR point cloud as constraints into the 3D Gaussian Splatting approach, adaptively guiding the Gaussians to grow and split along geometric benchmarks, thereby addressing the overgrowth and floaters issues. Additionally, considering the geometric distortions arising from data acquisition, coordinate transformations with distortion parameters are integrated to replace the simple pinhole camera model parameters to achieve pixel-level alignment between LiDAR point cloud and multi-view optical images, facilitating the accurate fusion of heterogeneous data and achieving the high-precision geo-alignment. Moreover, depth, normal and scale consistency losses are introduced into the regularization process to guide Gaussians toward real depth and plane representations, significantly improving geometric estimation accuracy. To address the current lack of dense airborne hybrid datasets, we have established and released AIR-LONGYAN, an open-source dataset containing a dense LiDAR point cloud (8 pts/m) and multi-view optical images captured by airborne scanners and cameras in diverse scenes....

BALR-SAM: Boundary-Aware Low-Rank Adaptation of SAM for Resource-Efficient Medical Image Segmentation

Vision foundation models like the Segment Anything Model (SAM), pretrained on large-scale natural image datasets, often struggle in medical image segmentation due to a lack of domain-specific adaptation. In clinical practice, fine-tuning such models efficiently for medical downstream tasks with minimal resource demands, while maintaining strong performance, is challenging. To address these issues, we propose BALR-SAM, a boundary-aware low-rank adaptation framework that enhances SAM for medical imaging. It combines three tailored components: (1) a Complementary Detail Enhancement Network (CDEN) using depthwise separable convolutions and multi-scale fusion to capture boundary-sensitive features essential for accurate segmentation; (2) low-rank adapters integrated into SAM's Vision Transformer blocks to optimize feature representation and attention for medical contexts, while simultaneously significantly reducing the parameter space; and (3) a low-rank tensor attention mechanism in the mask decoder, cutting memory usage by 75% and boosting inference speed. Experiments on standard medical segmentation datasets show that BALR-SAM, without requiring prompts, outperforms several state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods, including fully fine-tuned MedSAM, while updating just 1.8% (11.7M) of its parameters.

Input Domain Aware MoE: Decoupling Routing Decisions from Task Optimization in Mixture of Experts

Sparse Mixture of Experts (sMoE) has become a pivotal approach for scaling large vision-language models, offering substantial capacity while maintaining computational efficiency through dynamic, sparse activation of experts. However, existing routing mechanisms, typically based on similarity scoring, struggle to effectively capture the underlying input structure. This limitation leads to a trade-off between expert specialization and balanced computation, hindering both scalability and performance. We propose Input Domain Aware MoE, a novel routing framework that leverages a probabilistic mixture model to better partition the input space. By modeling routing probabilities as a mixture of distributions, our method enables experts to develop clear specialization boundaries while achieving balanced utilization. Unlike conventional approaches, our routing mechanism is trained independently of task-specific objectives, allowing for stable optimization and decisive expert assignments. Empirical results on vision-language tasks demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms existing sMoE approaches, achieving higher task performance and improved expert utilization balance.

Addressing Representation Collapse in Vector Quantized Models with One Linear Layer

Vector Quantization (VQ) is essential for discretizing continuous representations in unsupervised learning but suffers from representation collapse, causing low codebook utilization and limiting scalability. Existing solutions often rely on complex optimizations or reduce latent dimensionality, which compromises model capacity and fails to fully solve the problem. We identify the root cause as disjoint codebook optimization, where only a few code vectors are updated via gradient descent. To fix this, we propose \textbf{Sim}ple\textbf{VQ}, which reparameterizes code vectors through a learnable linear transformation layer over a latent basis, optimizing the \textit{entire linear space} rather than nearest \textit{individual code vectors}. Although the multiplication of two linear matrices is equivalent to applying a single linear layer, this simple approach effectively prevents collapse. Extensive experiments on image and audio tasks demonstrate that SimVQ improves codebook usage, is easy to implement, and generalizes well across modalities and architectures. The code is available at https://github.com/youngsheen/SimVQ.

Unifying Continuous and Discrete Text Diffusion with Non-simultaneous Diffusion Processes

Diffusion models have emerged as a promising approach for text generation, with recent works falling into two main categories: discrete and continuous diffusion models. Discrete diffusion models apply token corruption independently using categorical distributions, allowing for different diffusion progress across tokens but lacking fine-grained control. Continuous diffusion models map tokens to continuous spaces and apply fine-grained noise, but the diffusion progress is uniform across tokens, limiting their ability to capture semantic nuances. To address these limitations, we propose \textbf{\underline{N}}on-simultan\textbf{\underline{e}}ous C\textbf{\underline{o}}ntinuous \textbf{\underline{Diff}}usion Models (NeoDiff), a novel diffusion model that integrates the strengths of both discrete and continuous approaches. NeoDiff introduces a Poisson diffusion process for the forward process, enabling a flexible and fine-grained noising paradigm, and employs a time predictor for the reverse process to adaptively modulate the denoising progress based on token semantics. Furthermore, NeoDiff utilizes an optimized schedule for inference to ensure more precise noise control and improved performance. Our approach unifies the theories of discrete and continuous diffusion models, offering a more principled and effective framework for text generation. Experimental results on several text generation tasks demonstrate NeoDiff's superior performance compared to baselines of non-autoregressive continuous and discrete diffusion models, iterative-based methods and autoregressive diffusion-based methods. These results highlight NeoDiff's potential as a powerful tool for generating high-quality text and advancing the field of diffusion-based text generation.

Stabilize the Latent Space for Image Autoregressive Modeling: A Unified Perspective

Latent-based image generative models, such as Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) and Mask Image Models (MIMs), have achieved notable success in image generation tasks. These models typically leverage reconstructive autoencoders like VQGAN or VAE to encode pixels into a more compact latent space and learn the data distribution in the latent space instead of directly from pixels. However, this practice raises a pertinent question: Is it truly the optimal choice? In response, we begin with an intriguing observation: despite sharing the same latent space, autoregressive models significantly lag behind LDMs and MIMs in image generation. This finding contrasts sharply with the field of NLP, where the autoregressive model GPT has established a commanding presence. To address this discrepancy, we introduce a unified perspective on the relationship between latent space and generative models, emphasizing the stability of latent space in image generative modeling. Furthermore, we propose a simple but effective discrete image tokenizer to stabilize the latent space for image generative modeling by applying K-Means on the latent features of self-supervised learning models. Experimental results show that image autoregressive modeling with our tokenizer (DiGIT) benefits both image understanding and image generation with the next token prediction principle, which is inherently straightforward for GPT models but challenging for other generative models. Remarkably, for the first time, a GPT-style autoregressive model for images outperforms LDMs, which also exhibits substantial improvement akin to GPT when scaling up model size. Our findings underscore the potential of an optimized latent space and the integration of discrete tokenization in advancing the capabilities of image generative models. CRATOS: Cognition of Reliable Algorithm for Time-series Optimal Solution

Anomaly detection of time series plays an important role in reliability systems engineering. However, in practical application, there is no precisely defined boundary between normal and anomalous behaviors in different application scenarios. Therefore, different anomaly detection algorithms and processes ought to be adopted for time series in different situation. Although such strategy improve the accuracy of anomaly detection, it takes a lot of time for practitioners to configure various algorithms to millions of series, which greatly increases the development and maintenance cost of anomaly detection processes. In this paper, we propose CRATOS which is a self-adapt algorithms that extract features from time series, and then cluster series with similar features into one group. For each group we utilize evolutionary algorithm to search the best anomaly detection methods and processes. Our methods can significantly reduce the cost of development and maintenance of anomaly detection. According to experiments, our clustering methods achieves the state-of-art results. The accuracy of the anomaly detection algorithms in this paper is 85.1%.
