RACE: Scalable Statistical Estimation of Functional Consistency in LLM Neurons

Discovering stable neuron behavior across entire domains remains a challenge in mechanistic interpretability. Existing methods often rely on instance-level point estimates or computationally expensive procedures, which either obscure population-level variability or limit scalable domain-wide analysis. We present RACE (Residual Alignment for Consistency Estimation), a forward-pass statistical framework that evaluates the domain-wide functional consistency of Transformer neurons. Compared with gradient-based point estimates, RACE produces neuron rankings that yield more domain-specific effects under perturbation. Token-distribution shifts support the connection between the selected neurons and the target domain, while scoring requires roughly one-hundredth of the computational overhead of the gradient-based methods. Code is available at https://github.com/Nexround/RACE.

SPADE: Self-Play in Adaptive Synthetic Executable Environments

Continuous self-improvement requires an ever-expanding pool of self-generated, diverse, adaptive goals. For language agents, existing training environment pools (hand-curated, statically synthesized, or frozen-verifier) keep the goal distribution fixed as the learner scales. We introduce SPADE (Self-Play in Adaptive Synthetic Executable Environments), a self-play RL framework in which a single LLM plays two roles: an Environment Designer that writes complete, long-horizon training environments as executable code with an OpenAI Gym-style reset()/step() interface, and a Reasoning Agent that learns to act in them. Each is a stateful, multi-turn environment (state transitions, reward functions, and verification code), so one interface spans reasoning problems and multi-step agentic tool use. The Reasoning Agent's regret is estimated using the gap between its reward with and without privileged hints; in optimizing this regret signal the Environment Designer learns to target environments at the edge of the agent's capabilities while keeping them feasible. Through extensive experimentation, we find several components critical to success: grounding the Environment Designer on documents sampled from a large pretraining corpus, and giving it an accumulated environment memory. Scaling to 30B-parameter models, SPADE improves over the strongest fixed-environment baseline by +5.3 on average across eight held-out math, science, code, and reasoning benchmarks, and lifts the tool-use setting by +5.7 on BFCL-v4 multi-turn and +13.9 on ACEBench-Agent; on the games setting, the margin over the strongest baseline grows with model scale. By making environment design itself a learnable component, SPADE takes a concrete step toward open-ended self-improvement.

HubMixer: Progressive Latent Hub Mixing for Parameter-Efficient Feature Interaction in Recommendation

Learning effective feature interactions is central to industrial recommendation and advertising ranking systems. Recent token-mixing architectures simplify self-attention with lightweight mixing operators, improving hardware efficiency and enabling large-scale deployment. However, recommendation tokens are fundamentally heterogeneous: user profiles, item attributes, behavioral sequences, context features, statistical signals, and business-side features live in different semantic spaces and interact in sparse, sample-specific patterns. Directly mixing all tokens in the raw heterogeneous token space may therefore be parameter-inefficient, as the model must implicitly discover which feature groups should interact and how such interactions should be routed. In the paper, we propose HubMixer, a parameter-efficient latent hub mixing architecture for feature interaction in recommendation. Instead of directly mixing raw feature tokens, HubMixer introduces a small set of learnable latent hubs to organize feature interactions through an `induction--interaction--readout` paradigm. First, hub induction summarizes heterogeneous tokens into compact latent hubs, where latent hubs query input tokens through cross-attention. Second, hub interaction performs high-order interaction in the cleaner latent hub space. Third, token-conditioned readout lets each original token selectively read from the interacted hubs, injecting global interaction semantics while preserving token-level field identity. Extensive offline experiments on industrial recommendation tasks show that HubMixer outperforms the SOTA models. Online A/B testing in the Kuaishou short-video recruitment business further shows a statistically significant 5.48% improvement in resume submission conversion rate, and HubMixer has been fully deployed in production.

TRINITY: A Multi-Perspective Benchmark for Personal-Style Video Highlight Detection

Traditional video highlight detection relies on a narrow, event-centric definition of saliency, which often fails to generalize to unconstrained personal videos where highlights are heterogeneous and perspective-dependent. To address this, we introduce TRINITY, a multi-perspective benchmark that decomposes highlight saliency into three complementary dimensions, Event, Emotion, and Nature, within a unified temporal framework. Leveraging this multi-faceted view, we propose a shared-backbone multi-branch architecture designed for parallel multi-perspective prediction via view-specific experts. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, achieving gains of +7.15/+3.62 mAP (rho=15%/50%) on Mr. HiSum and +10.82 mAP on YouTube Highlights. These results validate that multi-perspective modeling provides a more robust and comprehensive formulation of video saliency, especially for complex real-world scenarios. The benchmark and relevant codes will be released upon acceptance. The benchmark is available at https://huggingface.co/datasets/vanilladucky/TRINITY and the code is available at https://github.com/vanilladucky/TRINITY.
