A General Approach of Quasi-Exactly Solvable Schroedinger Equations

We construct a general algorithm generating the analytic eigenfunctions as well as eigenvalues of one-dimensional stationary Schroedinger Hamiltonians. Both exact and quasi-exact Hamiltonians enter our formalism but we focus on quasi-exact interactions for which no such general approach has been considered before. In particular we concentrate on a generalized sextic oscillator but also on the Lame and the screened Coulomb potentials.

Darboux transformations and hidden quadratic supersymmetry of the one-dimensional stationary Dirac equation

A matricial Darboux operator intertwining two one-dimensional stationary Dirac Hamiltonians is constructed. This operator is such that the potential of the second Dirac Hamiltonian as well as the corresponding eigenfunctions are determined through the knowledge of only two eigenfunctions of the first Dirac Hamiltonian. Moreover this operator together with its adjoint and the two Hamiltonians generate a quadratic deformation of the superalgebra subtending the usual supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Our developments are illustrated on the free particle case and the generalized Coulomb interaction. In the latter case, a relativistic counterpart of shape-invariance is observed.

Two-Loop Effective Potential of O(N)-Symmetric Scalar QED in 4-epsilon Dimensions

The effective potential of scalar QED is computed analytically up to two loops in the Landau gauge. The result is given in 4-epsilon dimensions using minimal subtraction and epsilon-expansions. In three dimensions, our calculation is intended to help throw light on unsolved problems of the superconducting phase transition, where critical exponents and the position of the tricritical point have not yet found a satisfactory explanation within the renormalization group approach.

Three-loop critical exponents, amplitude functions, and amplitude ratios from variational perturbation theory

We use variational perturbation theory to calculate various universal amplitude ratios above and below T_c in minimally subtracted phi^4-theory with N components in three dimensions. In order to best exhibit the method as a powerful alternative to Borel resummation techniques, we consider only to two- and three-loops expressions where our results are analytic expressions. For the critical exponents, we also extend existing analytic expressions for two loops to three loops.

No Spontaneous Breakdown of Chiral Symmetry in Nambu-Jona-Lasinio Model

We argue that the spontaneous breakdown of symmetry in the chirally symmetric Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model which was supposed to illustrate the origin of the low mass of pions in hadron physics does not occur due to strong fluctuations in the sigma - pi field space. Although quarks acquire a constituent mass, sigma and pi turn out to have equal heavy masses of the order of the constituent quark mass.

No Massless Pions in Nambu-Jona-Lasinio Model due to Chiral Fluctuations

In contrast to common belief, the chirally symmetric Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model does not contain massless pions, due to strong chiral fluctuations. Although quarks acquire spontaneously a nonzero constituent mass $M$, pions have a nonzero mass equal to the mass of $ \s $-mesons, both being of the order of $M$. This result is found in several cutoff schemes. Our derivation is nonperturbative, but involves a simple approximation (London limit) which should, however, receive only quantitative, no qualitative corrections.

The 3-flavor A-scaled Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model

We review the so called A-scaled Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model both in the vacuum and at finite temperature and density in the case of three flavors. Starting from QCD and integrating out the gluons, we show how to reintroduce some of their effects in order to take into account the trace (or scale) anomaly of QCD. The axial U_A(1) anomaly is also present in the model in order to discuss the eta' particle. In the present work we treat the pseudoscalar and scalar sectors, pointing out the defects related to the omission of the vector particles. We use our model to study the restoration of chiral symmetry as a function of temperature, the thermodynamical functions and the equation of state, and we survey the mixing between the scalar isoscalar particles and the glueball.

Two photons decay of the glueball and scalar isoscalar mesons in a scaled NJL model

We use a modified version of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model which implements the QCD trace anomaly to calculate the two photons decay width of the glueball (f_0(1500)) and of the two scalar mesons (f_0(1370), f_{J=0}(1710)) to which it is mixed. We investigate the effect of this mixing over the coupling constants of the f_0 states to the quarks.

Phase transition and thermodynamics of a hot and dense system in a scaled NJL model

The chiral phase transition of a hot and dense system of quarks is studied within a modified SU(3) NJL lagrangian that implements the QCD scale anomaly. The u- and s-quark condensates can feel or not the same chiral restoration depending on the considered region of the 3-dimension space T_c(μ_uc,μ_sc). The temperature behaviour of the pressure and of the energy and entropy densities of the u- and s-quark system is investigated. At high temperature, the non-vanishing bare s-quark mass only modifies slightly the usual behaviour associated with an ideal quark gas.

Scalar mesons nonet in a scaled effective Lagrangian

A scaled SU(3) Nambu - Jona-Lasinio Lagrangian is used to compute the mass of the nine scalar mesons in the vacuum and the mass of the gluball. It is shown that a suitable choice of the vacuum gluon condensate allows to reproduce the experimental masses of the scalar mesons except for the {$K^*_{0}$}(1430). This choice corresponds to a weak coupling between the gluon and quark condensates, giving a {$f_{0}$}(1500) or a {$f_{J}$}(1710) which is nearly a pure glueball.
