Note on short time behavior of semigroups associated to selfadjoint operators

We present a simple observation showing that the heat kernel on a locally finite graph behaves for short times $t$ roughly like $t^d$, where $d$ is the combinatorial distance. This is very different from the classical Varadhan type behavior on manifolds. Moreover, this also gives that short time behavior and global behavior of the heat kernel are governed by two different metrics whenever the degree of the graph is not uniformly bounded.

Lower bounds for transition probabilities on graphs

The paper presents two results. The first one provides separate conditions for the upper and lower estimate of the distribution of the exit time from balls of a random walk on a weighted graph. The main result of the paper is that the lower estimate follows from the elliptic Harnack inequality. The second result is an off-diagonal lower bound for the transition probability of the random walk.

The Einstein relation for random walks on graphs

This paper investigates the Einstein relation; the connection between the volume growth, the resistance growth and the expected time a random walk needs to leave a ball on a weighted graph. The Einstein relation is proved under different set of conditions. In the simplest case it is shown under the volume doubling and time comparison principles. This and the other set of conditions provide the basic framework for the study of (sub-) diffusive behavior of the random walks on weighted graphs.

The volume and time comparison principle and transition probability estimates for random walks

This paper presents necessary and sufficient conditions for on- and off-diagonal transition probability estimates for random walks on weighted graphs. On the integer lattice and on may fractal type graphs both the volume of a ball and the mean exit time from a ball is independent of the centre, uniform in space. Here the upper estimate is given without such restriction and two-sided estimate is given if uniformity in the space assumed only for the mean exit time.

Random walk on graphs with regular resistance and volume growth

In this paper characterizations of graphs satisfying heat kernel estimates for a wide class of space-time scaling functions are given. The equivalence of the two-sided heat kernel estimate and the parabolic Harnack inequality is also shown via the equivalence of the upper (lower) heat kernel estimate to the parabolic mean value (and super mean value) inequality.

Sub-Gaussian short time asymptotics for measure metric Dirichlet spaces

This paper presents estimates for the distribution of the exit time from balls and short time asymptotics for measure metric Dirichlet spaces. The estimates cover the classical Gaussian case, the sub-diffusive case which can be observed on particular fractals and further less regular cases as well. The proof is based on a new chaining argument and it is free of volume growth assumptions.
