A More Efficient Algorithm for Finding the Number of Permutations of $\mathbb{ZZ}/n\mathbb{ZZ}$ with Distinct Partial Sums

The notion of the factorial extends to abelian groups under the group operation and any permutation of the elements of the group. Notably, for some finite groups, it is possible to order elements in these groups such that no two ``factorials'' are the same. In this paper we count the number of ways to order elements to achieve this result for the integers modulo 20 and 22 under addition, as well as introduce an improved algorithm to count these permutations for the integers modulo $n$. We relate these numbers to the values in an already known sequence via a bijection which we prove in this paper. This proof and other lemmas allow us to calculate new terms for the sequence.

The size function for imaginary cyclic sextic fields

In this paper, we investigate the size function $h^0$ for number fields. This size function is analogous to the dimension of the Riemann-Roch spaces of divisors on an algebraic curve. Van der Geer and Schoof conjectured that $h^0$ attains its maximum at the trivial class of Arakelov divisors. This conjecture was proved for all number fields with unit group of rank 0 and 1, and also for cyclic cubic fields which have unit group of rank two. We prove the conjecture also holds for totally imaginary cyclic sextic fields, another class of number fields with unit group of rank two.

Imaginary Multiquadratic Fields of Class Number Dividing $2^m$

This paper gives a method to find all imaginary multiquadratic fields of class number dividing $2^{m},$ provided the list of all imaginary quadratic fields of class number dividing $2^{m+1}$ is known. We give a bound on the degree of such fields. As an application of this algorithm, we compute a complete list of imaginary multiquadratic fields with class number dividing $32.$

Mahler measure of some singular K3-surfaces

We study the Mahler measure of the three-variable Laurent polynomial x + 1/x + y + 1/y + z + 1/z - k where k is a parameter. The zeros of this polynomial define (after desingularization) a family of K3-surfaces. In favorable cases, the K3-surface has Picard number 20, and the Mahler measure is related to its L-function. This was first studied by Marie-Jose Bertin. In this work, we prove several new formulas, extending the earlier work of Bertin.
