Genealogy in critical generations of a diffusive random walk in random environment on trees

We consider the range $R^{(n)}$, the tree made up of visited vertices by a diffusive null-recurrent randomly biased walk $\mathbb{X}$ on a Galton-Watson tree $\mathbb{T}$ up to the $n$-th return time to its root and we consider the following genealogy problem: pick two vertices uniformly at random in a generation of order $n$ in the tree $R^{(n)}$. Where does the coalescence occur? it turns out that the coalescence happens either in the recent past or in the remote past.

The leftmost particle of branching subordinators

We define a family of continuous-time branching particle systems on the non-negative real line, called branching subordinators, where particles move as independent subordinators. Each particle can also split (at possibly infinite rate) into several children (possibly infinitely many) whose positions relative to the position of the parent are random. These particle systems are in the continuity of branching L\'evy processes introduced by Bertoin and Mallein [Ann. Probab. 47(3): 1619-1652 (2019)]. We pay a particular attention to the asymptotic behavior of the leftmost particle of branching subordinators. It turns out that, under some assumptions, the rate of growth of the position of the leftmost particle is of order $t^{\gamma}$ where $\gamma \in (0,1)$ depends explicitly on the parameters. This sub-linear growth is significantly different from the classical linear growth observed for regular branching random walks with non-negative displacements.

Local times in critical generations of a random walk in random environment on trees

We consider a null-recurrent randomly biased walk $\mathbb{X}$ on a Galton-Watson tree in the (sub)-diffusive regime and we prove that properly renormalized, the local time in a critical generation converges in law towards some function of a stable continuous-state branching process. We also provide an explicit equivalent of the probability that critical generations are reached by the random walk $\mathbb{X}$.

Scaling limit for local times and return times of a randomly biased walk on a Galton-Watson tree

We consider a null recurrent random walk $\mathbb{X}$ on a super-critical Galton Watson marked tree $\mathbb{T}$ in the (sub-)diffusive regime. We are interested in the asymptotic behaviour of the local time of its root at $n$, which is the total amount of time spent by the random walk $\mathbb{X}$ on the root of $\mathbb{T}$ up to the time $n$, and in its $n$-th return time to the root of $\mathbb{T}$. We show that properly renormalized, this local time and this $n$-th return time respectively converge in law to the maximum and to an hitting time of some stable L\'evy process. This paper aims in particular to extent the results of Y. Hu [Hu17].

Coalescence in small generations for the diffusive randomly biased walk on Galton-Watson trees

We investigate the range $\mathcal{R}_T$ of the diffusive biased walk $\mathbb{X}$ on a Galton-Watson tree $\mathbb{T}$ in random environment, that is to say the sub-tree of $\mathbb{T}$ of all distinct vertices visited by this walk up to the time $T$. We study the volume of the range with constraints and more precisely the number of $k$-tuples ($k\geq 2$) of distinct vertices in this sub-tree, in small generations and satisfying an hereditary condition. A special attention is paid to the vertices visited during distinct excursions of $\mathbb{X}$ above the root of the Galton-Watson tree as we observe they give the major contribution to this range. As an application, we study the genealogy of $k\geq 2$ distinct vertices of the tree $\mathcal{R}_T$ picked uniformly from those in small generations. It turns out that two or more vertices among them share a common ancestor for the last time in the remote past. We also point out an hereditary character in their genealogical tree due to the random environment.

Generalized range of slow random walks on trees

In this work, we are interested in the set of visited vertices of a tree $\mathbb{T}$ by a randomly biased random walk $\mathbb{X}:=(X_n,n \in \mathbb{N})$. The aim is to study a generalized range, that is to say the volume of the trace of $\mathbb{X}$ with both constraints on the trajectories of $\mathbb{X}$ and on the trajectories of the underlying branching random potential $\mathbb{V}:=(V(x), x \in \mathbb{T})$. Focusing on slow regime's random walks (see [HS16b], [AC18]), we prove a general result and detail examples. These examples exhibit many different behaviors for a wide variety of ranges, showing the interactions between the trajectories of $\mathbb{X}$ and the ones of $\mathbb{V}$.
