Hadamard states for spacetimes with timelike boundaries

We formulate and prove existence of pure quasifree Hadamard states for the Klein--Gordon field with Dirichlet boundary condition on a globally hyperbolic spacetime with timelike boundary. The microlocal condition is imposed on the one-particle Hilbert-space-valued distribution $p\circ G_D$ rather than on the two-point function. This is expressed by a $b$-wave-front set condition on the compressed future cone. The analysis on the manifold with corners $\bar M\times\bar M$ is then almost completely avoided. We prove that our version of the Hadamard condition is universal in the class of quasi-free Hadamard states. We also prove a propagation theorem for positive-energy microlocal splittings which uses only a microlocal splitting in the small $b$-calculus and well-posedness of the Dirichlet problem, and in particular requires no propagation theorem for reflected or gliding rays; combined with an explicit computation in the ultrastatic case and a Fulling--Narcowich--Wald deformation argument this yields the construction of a pure quasi-free Dirichlet--Hadamard state.

The Weyl law for the Dirichlet Laplacian

The purpose of this paper is to review the asymptotic distribution of eigenvalues of the Dirichlet Laplacian. We introduce and recall all the relevant spectral quantities and provide a proof based on the Fourier Tauberian Theorem.

$SG$-classes, Singular Symplectic Geometry and Order-preserving Isomorphisms

The geometric theory of pseudo-differential and Fourier Integral Operators relies on the symplectic structure of cotangent bundles. If one is to study calculi with some specific feature adapted to a geometric situation, the corresponding notion of cotangent bundle needs to be adapted as well and leads to spaces with a singular symplectic structure. Analysing these singularities is a necessary step in order to construct the calculus itself. In this article we provide some new insights into the symplectic structures arising from asymptotically Euclidean manifolds. In particular, we study the action of the Poisson bracket on $SG$-pseudo-differential operators and define a new class of singular symplectomorphisms, taking into account the geometric picture. We then consider this notion in the context of the characterisation of order-preserving isomorphisms of the $SG$-algebra, and show that these are in fact given by conjugation with a Fourier Integral Operator of $SG$-type.
