Unitary dual of $p$-adic split $\mathrm{SO}_{2n+1}$ and $\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}$: The good parity case (and slightly beyond)

Let $F$ be a $p$-adic field, and let $G$ be either the split special orthogonal group $\mathrm{SO}_{2n+1}(F)$ or the symplectic group $\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(F)$, with $n \geq 0$. We prove that a smooth irreducible representation of good parity of $G$ is unitary if and only if it is of Arthur type. Combined with the algorithms of the first author or Hazeltine-Liu-Lo for detecting Arthur type representations, our result leads to an explicit algorithm for checking the unitarity of any given irreducible representation of good parity. Finally, we determine the set of unitary representations that may appear as local components of the discrete automorphic spectrum.

A binary operation on irreducible components of Lusztig's nilpotent varieties {II}: applications and conjectures for representations of $GL_n$ over a non-archimedean local field

In the first part of the paper we defined and studied a binary operation on the set of irreducible components of Lusztig's nilpotent varieties of a quiver. For type $A$ we conjecture, following Geiss and Schr\"oer, that this operation is compatible with taking the socle of parabolic induction of representations of general linear groups over a local non-archimedean field, at least when one of the irreducible components is rigid. We verify this conjecture in special cases.

The explicit Zelevinsky-Aubert duality

In this paper, we give an explicit computable algorithm for the Zelevinsky-Aubert dual of irreducible representations of $p$-adic symplectic and odd special orthogonal groups. To do this, we establish explicit formulas for certain derivatives and socles. We also give a combinatorial criterion for the irreducibility of certain parabolically induced representations.

Cyclic representations of general linear p-adic groups

Let $\pi_1,\ldots,\pi_k$ be smooth irreducible representations of $p$-adic general linear groups. We prove that the parabolic induction product $\pi_1\times\cdots\times \pi_k$ has a unique irreducible quotient whose Langlands parameter is the sum of the parameters of all factors (cyclicity property), assuming that the same property holds for each of the products $\pi_i\times \pi_j$ ($i<j$), and that for all but at most two representations $\pi_i\times \pi_i$ remains irreducible (square-irreducibility property). Our technique applies the recently devised Kashiwara-Kim notion of a normal sequence of modules for quiver Hecke algebras. Thus, a general cyclicity problem is reduced to the recent Lapid-M\'inguez conjectures on the maximal parabolic case.

Conjectures and results about parabolic induction of representations of $GL_n(F)$

In 1980 Zelevinsky introduced commuting varieties whose irreducible components classify complex, irreducible representations of the general linear group over a non-archimedean local field with a given supercuspidal support. We formulate geometric conditions for certain triples of such components and conjecture that these conditions are related to irreducibility of parabolic induction. The conditions are in the spirit of the Geiss--Leclerc--Schr\"oer condition that occurs in the conjectural characterization of $\square$-irreducible representations. We verify some special cases of the new conjecture and check that the geometric and representation-theoretic conditions are compatible in various ways.

Geometric conditions for $\square$-irreducibility of certain representations of the general linear group over a non-archimedean local field

Let $\pi$ be an irreducible, complex, smooth representation of $GL_n$ over a local non-archimedean (skew) field. Assuming $\pi$ has regular Zelevinsky parameters, we give a geometric necessary and sufficient criterion for the irreducibility of the parabolic induction of $\pi\otimes\pi$ to $GL_{2n}$. The latter irreducibility property is the $p$-adic analogue of a special case of the notion of "real representations" introduced by Leclerc and studied recently by Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh (in the context of KLR or quantum affine algebras). Our criterion is in terms of singularities of Schubert varieties of type $A$ and admits a simple combinatorial description. It is also equivalent to a condition studied by Geiss-Leclerc-Schr\"oer.

Endoscopic Classification of Representations: Inner Forms of Unitary Groups

We classify the automorphic representations (over number fields) and the irreducible admissible representations (over local fields) of unitary groups which are not quasi-split, under the assumption that the same is known for quasi-split unitary groups. The classification of automorphic representations is given in terms of automorphic representations of general linear groups. The classification of irreducible admissible representations is given in terms of Langlands parameters.

Let F be a non-Archimedean locally compact field of residue characteristic p, let D be a finite dimensional central division F-algebra and let R be an algebraically closed field of characteristic different from p. We classify all smooth irreducible representations of GL(m,D) with coefficients in R, in terms of multisegments, generalizing works by Zelevinski, Tadic and Vign\'eras. We prove that any irreducible R-representation of GL(m,D) has a unique supercuspidal support, and thus get two classifications: one by supercuspidal multisegments, classifying representations with a given supercuspidal support, and one by aperiodic multisegments, classifying representations with a given cuspidal support. These constructions are made in a purely local way, with a substantial use of type theory.

Correspondance de Howe: paires duales de type II

In this article, we give a new method for proving Howe correspondence in the case of dual pairs of type $({\rm GL}_n, {\rm GL}_m)$ over a non-Archimedean locally compact field $F$. The proof consists in combining a study on Kudla's filtration with the results of a previous article of the autor about the irreducibility of a parabolically induced representation. The proof is valid for $F$ of any characteristic and allows us to make the correspondence explicit in terms of Langlands parameters.

Sur l'irréductibilité d'une induite parabolique

Let $F$ be a non-Archimedean locally compact field and let $D$ be a central division algebra over $F$. Let $π_1$ and $π_2$ be respectively two smooth irreducible representations of ${\rm GL}(n_1,D)$ and ${\rm GL}(n_2,F)$, $n_1, n_2 \geq 0$. In this article, we give some sufficient conditions on $π_1$ and $π_2$ so that the parabolically induced representation of $π_1 \otimes π_2$ to ${\rm GL}(n_1+n_2,D)$ has a unique irreducible quotient. In the case where $π_1$ is a cuspidal representation, we compute the Zelevinsky's parameters of such a quotient in terms of parameters of $π_2$. This is the key point for making explicit Howe correspondence for dual pairs of type II.
