Green-VLA: Staged Vision-Language-Action Model for Generalist Robots

We introduce Green-VLA, a staged Vision-Language-Action (VLA) framework for real-world deployment on the Green humanoid robot while maintaining generalization across diverse embodiments. Green-VLA follows a five stage curriculum: (L0) foundational VLMs, (L1) multimodal grounding, (R0) multi-embodiment pretraining, (R1) embodiment-specific adaptation, and (R2) reinforcement-learning (RL) policy alignment. We couple a scalable data-processing pipeline (3,000 hours of demonstrations) with temporal alignment and quality filtering, and use a unified, embodiment-aware action interface enabling a single policy to control humanoids, mobile manipulators, and fixed-base arms. At inference, the VLA controller is enhanced with episode-progress prediction, out-of-distribution detection, and joint-prediction-based guidance to improve safety and precise target selection. Experiments on Simpler BRIDGE WidowX and CALVIN ABC-D, as well as real-robot evaluations, show strong generalization and performance gains from RL alignment in success rate, robustness, and long-horizon efficiency.

HSFM-$\Sigma$nn: Combining a Feedforward Motion Prediction Network and Covariance Prediction

In this paper, we propose a new method for motion prediction: HSFM-$\Sigma$nn. Our proposed method combines two different approaches: a feedforward network whose layers are model-based transition functions using the HSFM and a Neural Network (NN), on each of these layers, for covariance prediction. We will compare our method with classical methods for covariance estimation showing their limitations. We will also compare with a learning-based approach, social-LSTM, showing that our method is more precise and efficient.

Competing Structures in (In,Ga)Se and (In,Ga)2Se3 Semiconductors

The electronic structure of four polytypes (beta, gamma, delta and epsilon) of hexagonal GaSe and InSe is calculated from first principles, using the WIEN2k and VASP codes and PBEsol prescription for the exchange-correlation potential, aiming specifically at elucidating the crystallographic parameters and comparing the energy placement of corresponding competing structures. Further on, the compounds with different composition of the same constituents, namely the ordered-vacancies systems Ga2Se3 and In2Se3, were subject to a similar study, of which the relaxed crystal structure data for three different phases is reported. Comparison is done with the nomi- nal wurtzite structure over which the cation vacancies are introduced, and the relaxation pattern discussed.

Syzygies of Oriented Matroids

We construct minimal cellular resolutions of squarefree monomial ideals arising from hyperplane arrangements, matroids and oriented matroids. These are Stanley-Reisner ideals of complexes of independent sets, and of triangulations of Lawrence matroid polytopes. Our resolution provides a cellular realization of Stanley's formula for their Betti numbers. For unimodular matroids our resolutions are related to hyperplane arrangements on tori, and we recover the resolutions constructed by Bayer, Popescu and Sturmfels. We resolve the combinatorial problems posed in their paper by computing Mobius invariants of graphic and cographic arrangements in terms of Hermite polynomials.

Electronic Structure and Lattice Relaxation Related to Fe in Mgo

The electronic structure of Fe impurity in MgO was calculated by the linear muffin-tin orbital--full-potential method within the conventional local-density approximation (LDA) and making use of the LDA+$U$ formalism. The importance of introducing different potentials, depending on the screened Coulomb integral $U$, is emphasized for obtaining a physically reasonable ground state of the Fe$^{2+}$ ion configuration. The symmetry lowering of the ion electrostatic field leads to the observed Jahn--Teller effect; related ligand relaxation confined to tetragonal symmetry has been optimized based on the full-potential total energy results. The electronic structure of the Fe$^{3+}$ ion is also calculated and compared with that of Fe$^{2+}$.
