Top and Higgs Flavor Changing Neutral Couplings in two Higgs Doublets Model

Abstract

We study various channels of top and Higgs Flavor Changing Neutral Couplings (FCNC) in the two Higgs doublet Model with natural flavor conservation (2HDM-I and 2HDM-II). We update known results about t\to c γ, c Z, cg and comment on t\to c h0. The decays $t\to c h0$ as well as {h0,H0}\to \bar{t}c are sensitive both to the bottom Yukawa coupling as well as to the trilinear scalar couplings h0H+H- and H0H+H-. After imposing unitarity constraints as well as vacuum stability conditions on scalar sector parameters, in 2HDM-II we found that for large $\tanβ\ga 40$ and rather light charged Higgs mass $M_{H+}\la 150$ GeV, the maximum values allowed for Br(t\to c h0), {\rm Br}(H0\to \bar{t}c) and {\rm Br}(h0\to \bar{t}c) are: $8\times 10^{-5}$, $10^{-3}$ and $10^{-4}$ respectively. For charged Higgs mass in the range [200,300] GeV, which can accommodate $B\to X_sγ$ constraint if one takes into account large theoretical uncertainties, the branching ratio of both H0\to\bar{t}c and h0\to \bar{t}c can still be slightly larger than $10^{-5}$. For A0\to \bar{t}c, its branching ratio is smaller than $\approx 10^{-7}$ in both 2HDM-I and 2HDM-II. We study also the top-charm associated production at e+e- colliders and its γγoption as well as at muon colliders. It is found that the cross section of γγ\to \bar{t}c can be of the order $0.01\to 0.1$ fb near threshold region, while the cross section of e+e-\to \bar{t}c is well below $10^{-2}$ fb. The situation is slightly better for muon colliders where a few fb cross section can be reached for large \tanβand low center of mass energy \sqrt{s}\la 500 GeV.

New Face of Standard Model: Neutral Magnetic Monopole

We show that the standard model has a totally new type of monopole which has the neutral magnetic charge $4π/\be$, where $\be$ is the neutral charge. This tells that the standard model has two types of monopoles, the well known Cho-Maison type which has the magnetic charge $4π/e$ and the neutral type which has the neutral magnetic charge $4π/\be$. This necessitates the new neutral charge quantization rule $\be=4πn/\bar g$, in addition to the Dirac's electric charge quantization rule $e=4πn/g$. The mass of the new monopole could be less than the Cho-Maison monopole, around 3.28 TeV. We show how to construct the neutral monopole and clarify the topological origin of the new monopole. We discuss the implications of the new monopoles in physics.

Where to find $X(17)$?

The Atomki group puts forward the hypothesis of an $X(17)$ particle to explain its anomaly observation in ${^{8}\text{Be}^{*}} \to {^{8}\text{Be}} e^+e^-$ transition. Utilizing experimental results from the Atomki experiments, measurements of the electron's anomalous magnetic moment (AMM), the parity-violating Møller scattering experiment, the NA64 experiment, the KLOE-2 experiment, and the PADME experiment, we derive constraints on the $Xee$ coupling of the hypothetical $X(17)$ boson to electrons. A joint $χ^2$ analysis of the electron's AMM (Cs and Rb measurements) and the parity-violating Møller scattering yields two mutually exclusive solutions. The Cs and Rb AMM constraints restrict the combination $(\varepsilon_e^v)^2-5(\varepsilon_e^a)^2$ with opposite signs. Cs+Møller combination favours a dominant axial-vector coupling $|\varepsilon_e^a|\approx5.3\times10^{-4}\gg|\varepsilon_e^v|$, whereas Rb+Møller favours a dominant vector coupling $|\varepsilon_e^v|\approx6.9\times10^{-4}\gg|\varepsilon_e^a|$. The Møller bound suppresses the subdominant coupling for both solutions. Incorporating NA64 and KLOE-2 limits on $(\varepsilon_e^v)^2+(\varepsilon_e^a)^2$ introduces mild tension for the Cs+Møller solution, while the Rb+Møller solution remains nearly unchanged.

Multiparameter Quantum Estimation and Degeneracy Structure in Three-Flavor Neutrino Oscillations

We investigate three-flavor neutrino oscillations within the framework of quantum estimation theory using the quantum Fisher information matrix (QFIM). We analyze all six independent elements of the QFIM for the parameters $θ_{23}$, $δ_{\mathrm{CP}}$, and $Δm^2_{31}$, together with the corresponding quantum Cramér--Rao bounds and normalized parameter correlations. To connect the intrinsic quantum sensitivity of the neutrino state with experimentally accessible information, we further compare the QFI with the classical Fisher information (CFI) associated with flavor-probability measurements. We find that the difference between the quantum and classical information bounds is strongly dependent on the oscillation parameter and $L/E$, demonstrating that the efficiency with which the available quantum information is accessed depends on the measurement. We also investigate probability-degenerate solutions in the $(θ_{23},δ_{\mathrm{CP}})$ parameter space. Although different parameter sets can produce identical $ν_μ\rightarrowν_e$ appearance probabilities at specific $L/E$ values, their corresponding quantum states can remain distinct, as demonstrated by the quantum fidelity. The QFIM differences further reveal distinct local quantum-information geometries for these probability-degenerate solutions, while the corresponding CFIM differences show a parameter and $L/E$ dependent degree of distinguishability accessible through the flavor-probability measurement. Our results demonstrate that QFI and CFI provide complementary information for neutrino parameter estimation, with the QFIM serving as a measurement-independent quantum benchmark and the CFI characterizing the information accessible through a specified measurement.
