Finite Non-Commutative Centrally Essential Rings of Minimal Order

Abstract

A ring $R$ with non-zero identity element is said to be centrally essential if for any non-zero element $a$ of $R$, there exist non-zero central elements $x$ and $y$ such that $ax = y$. In the paper, we prove that the minimal order of a finite non-commutative centrally essential ring is equal to $64$. A partial classification of such rings is presented, and the existence of non-isomorphic non-commutative centrally essential rings of minimal order is proved.

Positive semidefiniteness of $h$-Shuhan matrices (analogs of Borcherds Cartan matrices) and associated determinant sequences

We introduce an $h$-Shuhan matrix as a real square matrix $H=(h_{ij})$ with a common diagonal entry $h\ge0$, nonpositive integral off-diagonal entries, and the following Cartan-type condition on each unordered pair $\{i,j\}$: either $h_{ij}=h_{ji}$, or $\max\{h_{ij},h_{ji}\}=-1$ and $\min\{h_{ij},h_{ji}\}\le -2$. These conditions imply that the scalar shift $H+(2-h)I_n$ is a generalized Cartan matrix; not every generalized Cartan matrix arises from an $h$-Shuhan matrix in this way. We classify, for $0\le h<2$, all indecomposable $h$-Shuhan matrices that are positive semidefinite, generalized positive semidefinite, or virtual positive semidefinite (the last notion means that all principal minors are nonnegative). For $h<2$, virtual positive semidefiniteness forces $H+(2-h)I_n$ to be of finite Cartan type, the positive-type case of Vinberg's trichotomy (1971). At $h=2$, we describe the boundary case in terms of finite and affine Cartan matrices. The associated determinant recurrences hold for general $h$. We study congruences for integral $h$ and asymptotic and Fibonacci-type identities for $h>2$.

On module endomorphisms annihilated by residually square-free polynomials over Artinian local PIRs

We consider finitely generated free modules and their endomorphisms over an Artinian local PIR, also known as an SPIR. We characterize submodules of such modules by constructing minimal generating sets from given bases. We prove that any endomorphism possessing a square-free annihilating polynomial modulo the maximal ideal admits a principal annihilating ideal, and establish that every free invariant submodule under such an endomorphism has an invariant complement. Moreover, for such endomorphisms, we detail the construction of invariant submodules and compute the number of free invariant submodules when the ring is finite. Furthermore, we introduce canonical matrices associated with these endomorphisms, yielding a complete characterization of matrix similarity via invariant polynomials in this context. Finally, we address the non-derogatory case, obtaining a sharper characterization of submodule invariance.

Hyper-dual group inverse: existence, characterizations, and applications

Motivated by the recent work of Xiao and Zhong [AIMS Math. 9 (2024), 35125--35150: MR4840882], we propose a generalized inverse for a hyper-dual matrix called hyper-dual group generalized inverse (HDGGI). Firstly, we characterize the existence of the HDGGI of a hyper-dual matrix and we show that it is unique, whenever exists. The HDGGI is then used to solve a linear hyper-dual system. We discuss the minimal $P$-norm least-squares properties of hyper-dual group inverse. We also exploit some sufficient conditions under which the reverse and forward-order laws for a particular form of the HDGGI and hyper-dual Moore-Penrose generalized inverse (HDMPGI) hold. Using the definition of dual matrix of order $n$, we finally establish necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the group inverse of a dual matrix of order $n$.
