The Great Picard theorem for quasiregular values

Abstract

We prove a version of Rickman's Great Picard theorem in the theory of quasiregular values. The version of the theorem that we prove is in fact stated in terms of omitted quasiregular values, unlike the previously known Little Picard theorem of the theory that is based on quasiregular values in the boundary of the image set. As a byproduct of the proof, we also prove a Riemann removability theorem in our setting, which ends up strengthening the conclusion of the previously resolved question of Astala, Iwaniec and Martin.

On some connections between Kobayashi geometry and pluripotential theory

In this paper, we explore some connections between Kobayashi geometry and the Dirichlet problem for the complex Monge--Ampère equation. Among the results we obtain through these connections are: $(i)$~a theorem on the continuous extension up to $\partial{D}$ of a proper holomorphic map $F: D\longrightarrow Ω$ between domains with $\dim_{\mathbb{C}}(D) < \dim_{\mathbb{C}}(Ω)$, and $(ii)$~a result that establishes the existence of bounded domains with ``nice'' boundary geometry on which Hölder regularity of the solutions to the complex Monge--Ampère equation fails. The first, a result in Kobayashi geometry, relies upon an auxiliary construction that involves solving the complex Monge--Ampère equation with Hölder estimates. The second result relies crucially on a bound for the Kobayashi metric.

Fractional Besov-Sobolev Spaces on Chord-arc Curves

Let $Γ$ be a bounded rectifiable Jordan curve, with complementary domains $Ω_i$ and $Ω_e$. For $1 4$, this principle fails on a suitable radial-Lipschitz domain, showing that the upper bound $4$ cannot be increased uniformly over this class.

Separation properties of a hybrid point process with determinantal radii and uniform arguments

We recently characterized the almost sure separation of determinantal point processes $Λ_ϕ$ in the plane associated with Fock spaces $\mathcal F_ϕ$ with doubling weights $ϕ$. We also showed that, as expected, a more restrictive condition is required to characterize the almost surely separated Poisson processes with the same first intensity as $Λ_ϕ$. To gain further insight into this difference in behavior, we focus on radial weights $ϕ$ and introduce a hybrid process $Λ_ϕ^M=\{r_j e^{iθ_j}\}_{j}$, where the moduli $r_j$ are taken from $Λ_ϕ$, while the arguments $θ_j$ are chosen independently and uniformly in $[0,2π)$, independently of the radii. Our main result is that the hybrid process is almost surely separated under exactly the same condition as the corresponding Poisson process. Thus, despite preserving the joint radial distribution of the determinantal process, independent angular randomization destroys its improved separation properties.
