Monodromy line defects on the fuzzy sphere
Abstract
Monodromy line defects are of interest in the defect bootstrap program and are dual to electrically charged objects in dual gauge field descriptions. We investigate the Ising monodromy dCFT using a fuzzy sphere regularization, by imposing the twisted boundary condition in the UV. We obtain defect scaling dimensions $\hat Δ$ and ratios of defect operator expansion (DOE) coefficients using this method. We extend this machinery to the continuous family of $O(2)$ monodromy defects with twist angle $2πν$. In both cases, the lowest neutral defect scalar lies above dimension one, providing evidence that the monodromy defect reaches a stable dCFT without additional fine tuning.
