Invariance of logarithmic plurigenera and adjoint volumes in Kähler families

Abstract

We consider smooth proper families of compact complex manifolds over a disk whose total space is Kähler, together with a boundary divisor with relative simple normal crossings. We prove that, if the boundary is a rational divisor with coefficients in $[0,1)$, every logarithmic pluricanonical form on a fiber extends to a neighborhood of that fiber, and hence that the logarithmic plurigenera are constant. No positivity of the log canonical class is assumed. We prove further that, for real boundary coefficients in $[0,1]$, a log-adjoint class twisted by a smooth semipositive form has the same volume on every fiber, and that it is pseudoeffective either on every fiber or on none. When the log-adjoint class is nef on every fiber, we give a second proof of the extension theorem, which does not use the minimal model program.

Characterization of Asymptotically Smooth Chord-arc Curves

We construct an explicit example of an asymptotically conformal chord-arc curve that fails to be asymptotically smooth. This implies that a function belonging to both the little Bloch space and $\mathrm{BMOA}$ does not necessarily lie in $\mathrm{VMOA}$, and that a strongly quasisymmetric homeomorphism which is symmetric is not necessarily strongly symmetric. We also provide a complete characterization of asymptotically smooth curves in terms of asymptotic conformality and uniform approximability.

Complex exponential integral means spectra of univalent functions and the Brennan conjecture

In this paper we investigate the complex exponential integral means spectra of univalent functions in the unit disk. We show that all integral means spectrum (IMS) functionals for complex exponents on the universal Teichmüller space, the closure of the universal Teichmüller curve, and the universal asymptotic Teichmüller space are continuous. We also show that the complex exponential integral means spectrum of any univalent function admitting a quasiconformal extension to the extended complex plane is strictly less than the universal integral means spectrum. These extend some related results in our recent work \cite{Jin}. Here we employ a different and more direct approach to prove the continuity of the IMS functional on the universal asymptotic Teichmüller space. Additionally, we completely determine the integral means spectra of all univalent rational functions in the unit disk. As a consequence, we show that the Brennan conjecture is true for this class of univalent functions. Finally, we present some remarks and raise some problems and conjectures regarding IMS functionals on Teichmüller spaces, univalent rational functions, and a multiplication operator whose norm is closely related to the Brennan conjecture.
