Does Synchrophasor Attenuation Preclude Detection of High-Frequency Oscillations?
Abstract
Recent work suggests that standard synchrophasors are inadequate for capturing high-frequency data center oscillations, primarily due to filtering and windowing attenuation during phasor estimation. We prove that widely used periodogram and RMS energy detectors remain largely robust to it and confirm this by simulation.
