A new regime of the C-metric: Super accelerating black holes
Abstract
We define and investigate the super accelerating regime of the charged C-metric, which arises at large acceleration. In this regime, the polar coordinate must be restricted to a smaller interval within $(0,π)$, and the resulting boundary defines a new axis of symmetry. This changes the conical singularity structure of the spacetime and, consequently, its string/strut interpretation. We further show that, when the conical defect at the south pole is removed, the Komar mass takes the simple form $M_K=1/(4A)$, up to the normalization of the time translation Killing vector. Finally, we explore the near extremal limits of this regime, identifying new limiting geometries.
