LACRM: LLM-Guided Mining of Directed Advertiser Competition Relationships in E-Commerce Advertising

Abstract

In e-commerce advertising, ad platforms typically fail to model the externalities among advertisers when making optimization decisions: an advertiser's actual performance is largely shaped by rivals competing for the same users; these rivals typically operate in overlapping product categories and at comparable budget scales. However, capturing this rivalry as an explicit, reusable signal is challenging because it is directed, multi-faceted, and partially observable. Existing paradigms such as interaction graphs, taxonomy rules, and single-embedding models do not fully capture these properties. In this paper, we propose LACRM (LLM-driven Advertiser Competition Relationship Mining), a novel framework that constructs directed competition graphs with continuous edge intensities via a three-stage pipeline. LACRM moves beyond symmetric similarity through LLM-driven role-separated profiling, which enables asymmetric multi-route retrieval to uncover both realized and latent rivals. The framework further incorporates listwise learning-to-rank aligned with temporal auction behavior to accurately model directed competition intensity. In offline retrieval experiments on an industrial benchmark, LACRM outperforms strong directed GNN baselines and ablation variants. Multi-LLM and human studies provide complementary evidence that the recovered latent rivals reflect meaningful market competition rather than merely model-generated artifacts. In production A/B tests, LACRM-guided bidding and incentive allocation increase advertising revenue by 1.73% and 1.14%, respectively. The results demonstrate the practical value of explicit competition modeling in large-scale advertising systems.

The Re-Label Method For Data-Centric Machine Learning

In industry deep learning application, our manually labeled data has a certain number of noisy data. To solve this problem and achieve more than 90 score in dev dataset, we present a simple method to find the noisy data and re-label the noisy data by human, given the model predictions as references in human labeling. In this paper, we illustrate our idea for a broad set of deep learning tasks, includes classification, sequence tagging, object detection, sequence generation, click-through rate prediction. The dev dataset evaluation results and human evaluation results verify our idea.

Parallel Layer Normalization for Universal Approximation

Layer Normalization (LN) is usually studied for its role in optimization, but it also acts as a multivariate nonlinearity between affine layers. We investigate how grouping LN units affects the approximation power of neural networks as width grows. In Parallel Layer Normalization networks (PLN-Nets), fixed-dimensional LN units are applied independently to groups between two affine layers. We prove that a shallow LN-Net with one LN unit is non-universal regardless of width, whereas PLN-Nets become universal as the number of parallel groups grows. The mechanism extends to deep networks, Root Mean Square Normalization (RMSNorm) variants, position-wise feed-forward networks, and convolutional networks under suitable grouping structures. Controlled MLP and physics-informed neural network (PINN) experiments support PLN's practical viability, while CNN and ViT experiments show that group count shapes the finite-sample fitting envelope but does not act alone: the grouped axes, replacement site, and label structure lead to distinct fitting and generalization behavior.

Thinking-Free Policy Initialization Makes Distilled Reasoning Models More Effective and Efficient Reasoners

Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Reward (RLVR) effectively solves complex tasks but demands extremely long context lengths during training, leading to substantial computational costs. While multi-stage training can partially mitigate this, starting with overly short contexts often causes irreversible performance degradation, ultimately failing to reduce overall training compute significantly. In this paper, we introduce Thinking-Free Policy Initialization (TFPI), a simple yet effective adaptation to RLVR that bridges long Chain-of-Thought (CoT) distillation and standard RLVR. TFPI employs a simple ThinkingFree operation, explicitly discarding the thinking content via a direct append, to reduce token usage during inference. Training with ThinkingFree-adapted inputs improves performance and lowers token consumption, even in the original slow-thinking mode. Extensive experiments across various benchmarks have shown that TFPI accelerates RL convergence, achieves a higher performance ceiling, and yields more token-efficient reasoning models without specialized rewards or complex training designs. With TFPI only, we train a 4B model to reach 89.0% accuracy on AIME24 and 65.5% on LiveCodeBench using less than 4K H20 hours.
