Correlation functions of the 19-vertex IRF model and its integrable quantum spin-1 chain

Abstract

We consider the interaction-round-a-face version of the nineteen-vertex model and derive a new quantum spin-$1$ chain. In the isotropic limit, the associated spin chain can be seen as three coupled Babujian-Taktahjan spin chains with different boundary twists. We compute the ground state short-distance correlation functions of the isotropic model in the thermodynamic limit by exploiting the shared integrable structure between the models.

The Riemann theta function near soliton limit

It has been known that (the square of) Jacobi elliptic function can be expressed by an infinite sum of single solitons of $\sech^2$ shape. In this paper, we show that there exists a similar structure for higher genus cases. It turns out that this is just a consequence of the quasi-periodicity of the Riemann $θ$-function. More precisely, we show that the second derivative of $\log θ$ with the \emph{real} Riemann $θ$-function of genus $g$ near soliton limit can be well approximated by the \emph{sum} of \emph{real} and \emph{regular} $g$-soliton solutions of Hirota-type in $g$-dimensional real space $\R^g$. This leads to a tessellation of $\R^g$, whose tile is an oblique prism divided into $2^g$ sections by hyper-planes of dominant exponents in the theta function. We apply the results to study quasi-periodic solutions to the KdV and KP equations. We construct the quasi-periodic solutions using the Schottky group, which uniformizes the corresponding Riemann surfaces. We also discuss solitons on quasi-periodic background by pinching some of the homological cycles

Existence Conditions for Darboux Curves and Analytic First Integrals of a Liénard-Type Quadratic Vector Field

We study the rational quadratic differential equation \[ \frac{\mathrm{d}y}{\mathrm{d}x} = \frac{ay^2+by+cx}{y^2}, \qquad a,b,c\in\C, \] under the non-degeneracy assumptions \[ c\neq 0,\qquad 2ay+b\not\equiv 0. \] Equivalently, after clearing the denominator, we consider the polynomial vector field \[ \dot{x}=y^2,\qquad \dot{y}=ay^2+by+cx. \] We give a complete, directly checkable classification of its Darboux curves. If $a=0$, no non-constant Darboux polynomial exists. If $a\neq 0$, a non-constant Darboux polynomial exists if and only if \[ c=-ab\qquad\text{or}\qquad c=-2ab. \] In these two cases the unique irreducible Darboux polynomials, up to non-zero constant multiples, are respectively \[ y-ax,\qquad y^2-2bx. \] Consequently every non-constant Darboux polynomial is a non-zero constant multiple of a positive integral power of the corresponding irreducible factor. We then place this classification in the framework of Riccati (R-)integrability and rational potentials, and formulate the analytic integrability theorem asserting that a global Riccati-type analytic first integral occurs precisely on the branch $c=-ab$. Finally, we relate this branch to the Quartic Inverse Riccati (QIR) class and discuss an invariant-based classification problem for quartic Abel equations.

A novel extension of the canonical 2+1-dimensional Dym equation. Moving boundary problems solvable via Painleve' II Reduction

An extension with temporal modulation is presented of the canonical 2 + 1-dimensional solitonic Dym equation as originally introduced by Konopelchenko and Dubrovsky. Application is made of admitted Painleve' II symmetry reduction to derive exact solution to a class of associated 2 + 1-dimensional nonlinear moving boundary problems of generalized Stefan-type.
