A Proof of the Koumandos--Ruscheweyh Conjecture

Abstract

We prove the Koumandos--Ruscheweyh conjecture for every $0 < ρ\leq 1$. If $μ^*(ρ)$ is the unique root in $(0,1]$ of $\int_0^{(1+ρ)π}t^{μ-1}\sin(t-ρπ)\mathrm{d}t=0$, then $(1-z)^ρs_n^μ(z)\prec((1+z)/(1-z))^ρ$ for every $n\geq0$, $0 < μ\leq μ^*(ρ)$ and $z\in\mathbb{D}$, where $s_n^μ(z)=\sum_{k=0}^n(μ)_kz^k/k!$. The parameter $μ^*(ρ)$ is optimal. The proof combines an all-parameter gamma-coefficient comparison with an exact beta integral and a binomial variance estimate. These estimates reduce the infinitely many degrees to finitely many continuous interval inequalities. The remaining inequalities are certified by 256-bit ball arithmetic; rational covers, source code and alternative-formula verifiers are provided. The positive-real-part conjecture follows as a sharp corollary.

Multiplicity-Weighted Moments Across a Harmonic Caustic: Closed Forms with Order-Independent Breakpoints

While the Jacobian of a planar harmonic mapping keeps a constant sign, the oriented and the multiplicity-weighted surface elements agree up to that sign, and the two natural moment hierarchies coincide. The nearest classification results in the literature are stated under exactly this hypothesis; this paper works past it. Once the Jacobian changes sign, the critical circle acquires a caustic as its image, part of the plane is covered several times with opposite orientations, and the hierarchies part company: integrating a radial weight against the oriented surface element $n_z$ lets overlapping sheets cancel, giving the degree-weighted moments $J_n$, while integrating against $|n_z|$ lets every sheet count positively, giving the multiplicity-weighted moments $J_n^{\pm}$. These are the classical degree and area formulas for the same map, the second weighted by the multiplicity function (Banach indicatrix). It is the second family, the one the caustic threatens, for which a closed form is no longer automatic. Our main result is that it has one anyway: $J_n^{\pm}$ is the total variation of the very same explicit primitive whose endpoint difference gives $J_n$. Crossing the caustic therefore costs only finitely many extra evaluation points, and they are the same points for every order $n$; for a monotone profile there is at most one interior breakpoint, at the critical radius itself. The family carrying this is the two-monomial planar harmonic mapping $F(w)=w+iC\bar w^k$, $w=p(u)e^{iv}$, arising as the planar projection of a Fourier-perturbed surface. On the degree-weighted side $J_n$ has a boundary-only closed form for every $n\ge 0$, the zeroth being the oriented $z$-flux. Neither weighted integral is a new object, and the caustic has been located before in the literature on harmonic trinomials; what is new is the closed evaluation of the multiplicity-weighted hierarchy across it.

Refined Bohr Inequalities and Bohr Radii Involving Schwarz Mappings for Holomorphic Functions in Banach Spaces and JB*-Triples

In this paper, we investigate refined Bohr-type inequalities involving Schwarz mappings for holomorphic mappings defined on the unit ball \( B_X \) of a complex Banach space. We first establish refined Bohr inequalities for scalar-valued holomorphic mappings \( F : B_X \to \mathbb{U} \). We then extend some results to vector-valued holomorphic mappings involving Schwarz mappings of the form \( F : B_X \to \overline{\mathbb{U}}^{\,n} \), \( n \ge 2 \), where improved Bohr radii are obtained under suitable norm conditions. Furthermore, we study the Bohr radius involving Schwarz mappings for holomorphic mappings whose ranges are contained in the closure of the unit ball of a JB$^*$-triple. Our results generalize the results of Jia \textit{et al.} \cite{JLP}, Liu \textit{et al.} \cite{LLP2021} and Liu \textit{et al.} \cite{LSX2018}.

Inner factors of Dirichlet space functions

Every function in the Dirichlet space on the unit disc has an inner/outer factorization. We study which inner functions occur in this way. For Blaschke products, this is the well known question of which subsets of the disc are zero sets for the Dirichlet space. We also consider singular inner factors, and in particular prove an analogue of the Shapiro-Shields theorem in this setting. Our results on singular inner factors also yield new sufficient conditions for zero sets.
