Small Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with isogenies or torsion

Abstract

In this article with study Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves defined over $\mathbb{Q}$ that have isogenies or torsion points. More precisely, our aim is either to bound the set of primes primes that can divide their Tamagawa numbers or, when such a bound is not possible, to find infinite subfamilies whose Tamagawa numbers are as small as possible. Finally, we also investigate Tamagawa numbers of specializations of elliptic surfaces.

Constrained PSLQ Search for Machin-like Identities Achieving Record-Low Lehmer Measures

Machin-like arctangent relations are classical tools for computing $π$, with efficiency quantified by the Lehmer measure ($λ$). We present a framework for discovering low-measure relations by coupling the PSLQ integer-relation algorithm with number-theoretic filters derived from the algebraic structure of Gaussian integers, making large scale search tractable. Our search yields new 5 and 6 term relations with record-low Lehmer measures ($λ=1.4572, λ=1.3291$). We also demonstrate how discovered relations can serve as a basis for generating new, longer formulae through algorithmic extensions. This combined approach of a constrained PSLQ search and algorithmic extension provides a robust method for future explorations.

Counting integral points in homogeneous spaces over function fields

We establish the asymptotic formula for the number of integral points in non-compact symmetric homogeneous spaces of semi-simple simply connected algebraic groups over global function fields, given by the sum of the products of local densities twisted by suitable Brauer elements. As an application, we count the number of representations of a scalar by a sum of at least three squares.

A parallelogram height inequality for Drinfeld modules

We prove an inequality relating the Taguchi heights of four Drinfeld modules arranged in a ``parallelogram of isogenies''. This inequality is the analogue for Drinfeld modules of the parallelogram inequality of Rémond (2022) for abelian varieties over number fields and of Griffon--Le Fourn--Pazuki (2026) for abelian varieties over function fields. We also prove a similar inequality for the local graded height at a finite place.
