On connection of the cosmic-ray coplanarity of most energetic particles with the collider long-range near-side "ridge" effect
Abstract
Coplanarity of subcores of $γ$-ray--hadron families found in cosmic-ray experiments at $E_0 \gtrsim 10^{16}$ eV requires appearance of a coplanar generation of most energetic particles. Long-range near-side "ridge" effect in $ pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV was found by the CMS Collaboration in two-particle $Δη- Δφ$ correlation functions at $|Δη| \gtrsim 3$ and $|Δφ| \approx 0$. The FANSY 2.0 model reproduces both the hadron coplanarity and "ridge" effect.
